The hotel is really easy to find and has lots of free parking. It is just a short walk to the sugar museum but a car is needed for the chocolate Belen scene and turron museum both being out of town. I cannot say that the staff were friendly and the bar/ restaurant waiter was particularly dour. I think some... More

I chose this hotel as we wanted to explore the area of the Subbetica National Park. The hotel is on the edge of Rute and is comfortable. Our room was spacious. There is a lift. There is no hairdrier in the room. We ate here on two evenings and were wonderfully looked after by Julio who ia a great multitasker,... More

This is a great place to spend the afternoon if you have an extra day in the area (Rute/Iznajar). For a modest price of usually €10 you get a decent lunch and use of their swimming pool for the day. They have free wifi even for bar patrons and they are very generous with their drink pours (paid for single... More

As captain of teamglobalcycling, I can not recommend this hotel, too many things you are not allowed to do, we wanted to have our dinner outside, but no, we wanted to drink the rest of our wine at a part of the terrace, again no, we should go to a different area, the guys were not allowed to go to... Location of hotel good, friendly polite staff. Clean rooms. However, we booked a double bed and non-smoking room, upon arrival we got the key to a very smoke smelling room and 2 single beds...!! after declining, we still got 2 beds opposed to a double. No drinking water was found in the room, neither was there a little fridge to... More

We only stayed for one night but really enjoyed it. Anna was very friendly and helpful with great English. Jose also great but little English. They made us very welcome even though some of our party arrived late. Basic but pleasant rooms with aircon. Really good barbecue! Superb value all round

Stayed there for 2 nights and found it more than adequate for our needs. It was clean and tidy with a large outdoor pool, bar/restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. Staff were very pleasant. We had a room overlooking the garden and pool at the back, with a lovely terrace. Ample parking. All in all, excellent value.

Reception staff and management very nice. The hotel is so sad it needs painting and care. Do not know if we were unlucky but the floor in room was not clean and outside had not been cleaned for a long time, we had to wash chairs off before we could sit on them. Would not rate breakfast and there was... More

I have just come back from Rute having spent 5 nights in Hotel Maria Luisa. Rute is off the beaten track with relatively few (mainly Spanish) tourists. It is deep in olive territory nestling in amongst hills with olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see. There is a huge reservoir nearby which is usually deserted and several... More
