The first holiday we have had abroad in almost 2 years due to Covid-19, it was amazing!

The hotel had great facilities, tennis courts, bikes, and activities in the hotel such as herb picking and archery. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, the outdoor one is always nice and the indoor one is a little cooler and quiet. There is also a plunge pool, saunas, a jacuzzi and a gym which are all great.

It's a really quiet location so feels like a proper getaway from the busy city and beaches yet still not too far from anywhere.

The rooms are comfortable & modern and the aircon is very good, however the wifi isn't so good in the evenings.

Spain still has some restrictions in place and these were implemented through the hotel, the environment felt very safe but still easy to relax with masks worn by all staff and by guests in the indoor areas, as well as tables spaced apart at the restaurant, the rooms were also cleaned every day and very well cleaned too.

One of the best parts about the hotel was the restaurant and food. Guests all had allocated tables which is good for Covid and is also just a nice thing to have. The lunches were really good, great pastas and Pa Amb Oli. The breakfast is usually a buffet, but due to Covid the waiters & waitresses brought out the food instead, they always brought out lots of food and drinks. Lots of things for breakfast like fruit, pastries, crepes, waffles, fry-ups, breads, and lots more! The dinners were very good, 3 course meals with bread & aioli at the start, the meals were always the perfect size, and all the food was perfect, there was almost always a vegetarian option if needed and a good variety of food over the 2 weeks. Nice salads, BBQs, paella, fusion nights where the food was a mix of two different styles which was good.

All the waiters/waitresses and all of the staff were all really kind and helpful.

Overall, an amazing hotel and holiday, thank you so much! :)

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at this beautiful rustic accommodation.
We normally like to stay in villas however this was proving more and more difficult due to Covid restrictions. My wife showed me this establishment and we both thought it looked small and traditional.
We picked up the hire car from Palma airport and made our way to try and find Sa Bassa Rotja, its not easy and it did take us a while to locate however due to it's lovely rural location, you know it feels wonderful.
We checked in and was given all the info needed and when booking we requested a up grade rustic room which happened to be room 001 which is through reception and in the lovely quiet court yard away from the swimming pool,
The room was perfectly adequate for us with a television, fridge and a very rustic air conditioner but worked perfectly ok.
We had two single beds pushed together but did not let this come between us,
We booked for two weeks half board and at breakfast were assigned our own table which was ours for the whole 2 weeks. Breakfast was amazing and you could not want for anything.
Dinner I think is an absolute must while staying here! I have honestly not tasted better food anywhere else, its amazing and the presentation is top class. Yes you only had 3 choices of starter and main however I am a fussy eater and I never struggled to pick something delicious.
The staff here are amazing and Raul and his amazing team were always professional and caring and good at giving advice about what food to go for.
We also by accident got talking to a couple and their adorable son who it transpires he is the boss of this establishment and very approachable and nice. I can still hear his son singing twinkle twinkle little star.
The pool area the first week was absolutely peaceful and relaxing however the second week was busier with more children and some were a little boisterous.
I wouldn't advocate that this would be better if it was adults only however my wife thought it would be good idea to have a children's area in a separate location or an adults only area with sun beds.
Our room was cleaned very well every day and clean towels replenished as well as pool towels.
Free bikes were available and they did have a well equipped gym and indoor pool and Spa area.
We both would have no hesitation in returning to Sa Bassa Rotja in the future and would probably choose June or September as ideal months.
Many Thanks for giving us such a fantastic two weeks.

Simon and Dawn Trodd

From start to finish we had a perfect holiday at Sa Bassa. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was clean and had everything we needed (kettle, cups, glasses, fridge, safe, air conditioning, hairdryer and toiletries all in room).
Access to Spa facilities (indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and loungers) was welcome but outdoor pool is amazing. Plenty of loungers and towels provided for pool use. We borrowed bikes and cycled around the estate, tennis rackets are available to use on the courts too.
Buffet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool with a three course evening meal (several choices for starter and main courses) and a good wine list. Restaurant staff were lovely, white tablecloths and napkins on the tables, perfect setting at the end of the day with twinkling lights as the sun sets.
You would need a car as the setting is quite remote although taxis are available. It is in a great location for easy access to beaches and towns around the island. Small supermarket in Porreres with larger supermarket in Felanitx.
We would happily recommend Sa Bassa and look forward to planning our return.

This was a truly lovely hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast and evening meals were good. The pool area was quiet and the water was warm! We were glad that the hotel provided towels for use by the pool. It was great just to be able to ride a bike or play tennis without having to book or pay extra. The grounds were beautifully laid out and the buildings tastefully restored or freshly built - no wonder it is popular for weddings! There were routes to ride bikes or horses ( you understandably would have to book and pay extra for horse riding.) I am glad that a safe was provided in the room, as it is annoying when hotels charge you to use a safe. We were glad of a fridge, and glad that the air-con worked quietly.
Our only small criticism would be concerning our double room, which we knew in advance was a "basic" room with no patio or balcony. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean, but the wardrobe gave no deep hanging for dresses, and a chest of drawers would have been handy to keep bits and bobs in. The sliding wardrobe doors were so heavy they were difficult to move, so accessing T shirts and underwear etc would have been easier had there been a chest of drawers. The shower cubicle was small, with a shower curtain that clings to you, and we could have done with more hooks or towel rails in the shower room, as it was difficult to dry towels and swimwear with no patio or balcony.
This is a small design criticism of what is otherwise a wonderful hotel, and we would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, peaceful, easy-going and tasteful place to stay.

We booked a late trip for the family in August, staying for over two weeks. We took one suite by the pool and one double room near the spa. The hotel provides a chilled family vibe as it is set over a good amount of space for less than 40 rooms. The pool suite gave use a terrace and easy access to the pool and although we only booked the B&B rate, we ate in the restaurant most nights as the food and service was great and very relaxed. Overall this is a great venue for a family holiday and allowed us planets of time to relax, swim, play tennis and enjoy the local area. The hotel also arrange a boat trip for the day and for bike hire for the whole trip (they have bikes on site for free but could also arrange a road bike for longer rides). Fantastic trip with great service.

That is what it felt like: pressing the OFF button from being stressed and switching the "relax mode" ON. Time flows by at Sa Bassa at a different speed. The atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings invite you to leave your mobile phone in the room and enjoy the scenery, with no distractions. Our son had an incredible time in the tennis court, the basket-ball court and the swimming pool area. My husband and I appreciated the fact it has a spa, plenty of on-site walking routes and a very reasonably priced restaurant with a great menu. We had the opportunity to meet the owners and I can see why the place is so well kept: they are a charming Mallorcan couple who seem to truly care for their guests and put great care into every detail of Sa Bassa. We will be back. Thank you Sa Bassa Team!

If we could give this beautiful place 10 stars we would.
I cannot explain the beauty and the peace. The surroundings are magical and the team are a total joy.
We stayed in a suite and it was a perfect space with your own terrace and loungers.
The grounds go for miles and a lazy walk or bike ride in the sunshine is beautiful.
My husband had a massage which he said was excellent and I went horseriding with the lovely lady from Germany around the acres of olive groves.
The pool area is beautiful and peaceful and the team will bring you drinks and lunch to your terrace.
Breakfast was lovely a great range of hot, pastries and breads.
Lunch that you can order is simple salads and bread and Ali oli but delicious

Dinner, we went half board, and due to the location we would recommend this. A choice of 3 starters and mains.. Baked lamb, pasta, fish, pork cheeks and fantastic salads. Dinner felt healthy and fresh.. Just perfect. The Sunday bbq was superb too, steak chicken pork and lamb.
The wine was exceptional value and a gorgeous aperol spritz was much appreciated.
There is some mention of weddings in previous reviews. We experienced one, it was delightful and I guess you have a choice to either moan or get into the spirit of a young couple starting their journey together.. We did and it was much fun to watch.

Highly recommend a car and getting out to explore. Porreres is very nearby and the Wednesday Market at Santanyi is wonderful.

Now for the team.. Sandra in reception super helpful, the restaurant team were amazing.. Raol was fun and kind and charming, Daniele and Alexandria were super as were all the guys.
Lola.. Well she is a very special, kind and beautiful lady who I much looked forward to seeing and would pop up to have a chat with her every time she was in.
We loved every second and cannot wait to return.. It was truly perfect in every way
Thank you for making us so welcome all of you

My wife and I stayed here for the second time this year in late June early July.
Last year was still a Covid year so breakfast was served to your table, this year you went up and helped yourself to buffet breakfast. Dinner is still served to your table and I can honestly say the standard of food like last year is amazing!! what i particularly like is the quality and flavour is fantastic however you never left feeling over loaded and bloated.
Again we chose a rustic room in the courtyard behind reception and this is where i begin my only negative comment. This place is so beautiful and remote and relaxing that it does become a wedding venue at weekends. The last night we stayed before flying home relatively early there was a wedding and unfortunately it does impact on people staying in this courtyard area. My wife and I embraced the occasion and were offered sparkling wine which was lovely however it did go on quite late.
The other room options are a standard room in a block at the bottom of the pool area or a poolside suit which do look lovely and are the biggest however if it wasn't for the risk of a wedding we would always choose a rustic room with the lovely courtyard.
Im not sure what the hotel can do regarding this issue.
This was our only gripe other than that I would not hesitate in returning for future holidays as this place really is special.
Raul and his team are friendly, efficient and professional all in one.
Its also noticeable that the owner / manager is often on site with his family and that is a good sign.
Reception are excellent and all the facilities are top notch including bikes and cycle/walking routes.
I think if we came again, knowing that during June, July and August there might be a chance of a wedding then we might need to look at a poolside suite.
Many Thanks once again for an amazing holiday and also good advice in my Spanish speaking.

Had a wonderful 4 nights here and was sad to leave. Beautiful grounds, amazing staff and the set up with the room facing onto the pool suited us perfectly. So peaceful and relaxing (even in school holidays where there were quite a few families).

The restaurant setting was beautiful and was such a joy to be in as the sun set. Would highly recommend the private boat and swimming in crystal clear waters. kids loved the tennis courts and they were close enough and enclosed that our 8 year old boys could go off and entertain themselves whilst we sunbathed. The rooms are rustic but spacious and suited us well. The deep tissue massage was the best I’ve ever had.

The location is middle of nowhere but great for exploring different beaches and easy to get taxi.

Only request I’d have to make even better is to have more healthy/light lunch options, to widen the fruit available at breakfast and serve more veg with dinners… I left feeling I need a detox! . It would also be good to have some restaurant recommendations in the area ahead of travelling (we were told bookings weren’t needed but we got turned away from full restaurants when we turned up on the day)

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay

A beautiful place with wonderful facilities, staff and food. The pool area is so relaxing and always very clean. The food was delicious, limited choice each night, like the other reviews say but amazing! They are also very accommodating so if there is something you don’t eat then they will make a change for you. Breakfasts were excellent, a continental style and eggs and bacon cooked to order. It was a relaxing and peaceful stay. There is a small gym too which has a good range of equipment. We booked directly through the hotel, you seem to get better prices this way. The only thing that could be improved is the AC in the room. We were in a rustic room in the courtyard behind the main building - it was lovely but always very hot, that said we did stay at the height of summer and I’m sure at other times in the year it would be more than adequate. Overall an excellent 4 night stay to end our holiday in Majorca and we would return. Highly recommend hiring a car to explore the area. Thank you.
