The receptionist was very nice. The reception area is the tiniest I have ever seen - just a desk! Our room was located in a pakhuis next to the canal which is the harbour area too. The car park houses 6 to 7 cars, although one can also park in kasteel. The room was big, we had a side view...

The main hotel is in an ancient building that uses the old features well - with a nice bar, restaurants and function rooms. The bedrooms are across the road, by the picturesque canal and are very spacious, modern with lots of wooden beams - there is a bath and shower in the room. My room 11 was right by the...

My husband and I stayed for a weekend at Coevorden, a small but picturesque town in the province of Drenthe. We chose Kasteel Coevorden - Hotel de Vlijt and had a pleasant stay. The hotel is situated in a converted warehouse and everything looks modern. Breakfast is served at the castle and is good. The room we had was very...

Last weekend we stayed at this hotel. After checking in at a very friendly guy we had to wait for a moment. We could enter the hotel at 3pm. So we went to the city center. But wait... The hotel and castle are in the centre of Coevorden. Coevorden is a nice city but small and quiet.... We had a...

As others already said, the reception doesn't give a good first impression. Desk unstaffed, no response after ten minutes despite ringing the bell twice. Eventually we tackled a waitress in the restaurant who found a colleague to check us in. The staff we did encounter were all friendly and pleasant. The hotel itself, which is across the street from the...

The actual stay is not in the castle, it´s in another building a few minutes away, which we hadn´t understood. The room was spacious and quite clean (although we had to wipe away some spiders in the bathtub), but there was no staff in the building. The wiew was nice though, over the river. Breakfast was o.k, but not more...

I also, wrongly, thought we would be staying in the castle and I had also allowed time for sightseeing around the castle! However, this is not a castle open to the public - it, in parts, is a cookery school. All rooms are in a separate unmanned building a good couple of hundred yards away from the "castle". The tiny...

Very interesting, charming, high quality whatever you think by seeing it from outside. Bath in the middle of the room and a queen size bad ( not mentioned on room description) are marvelous. Welcoming manner on reception, breakfast, check out. I don´t know if this was an old storage house as someone else reviewed it, but I am telling to...

Well, been there 2 x for a couple of days. Rooms are all nice. Some of them spacy. Lighting system is a bit of confusing but ok. Showers are in bedroom, leaks on floor, no privacy as it's a part of room. Imagine kids are playin while mamy and dady having a shower :) Tv on stand infront of bed,...

Stayed here for two nights while on business in town. The rooms are a little distance from the reception but it is still a very nice hotel. Very friendly checkin. Eat in the hotel restaurant and found the food really excellent. The town is very quite so not much to do at night.

“Room 15 is located above the entrance of the hotel De Vliet and guests may suffer from noise caused by guests coming home late.
