a variety of rooms, some more spacious but all of them clean and comfortable. Some with balcony, some without. Nice bar and excellent restaurant where the staff did its utmost to provide us with a very tasteful and meorable dinner, all local ingredients as well. It was our second visit and will not be the last. Norg is also excellent as a departure point for some interesting excursions

Staying here for 5 nights around the Assen MotoGP, firstly the staff and owners are absolutely wonderful, so helpful and kind, nothing is too much trouble and it creates a wonderfully relaxed environment, the room we have is very spacious and has an exceptionally comfortable bed, the en-suite is lovely and the room is spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are lovely with a good selection of quality food. The restaurant is spot on and the food truly delicious (see photos) I would highly recommend The Karsten to anyone.

Once again, our stay was perfect. Helped by Cella and Kees hospitality. This is a superb family run hotel, and everything about it is traditional as well as excellent. The food is superb, and personally i love being able to fry my own eggs and bacon if it suits. Book with confidence.

We stayed 2 nights in Rm # 2. The owner and his wife were always present in the restaurant working hard and seeing that all was well. We had one of the "luxury" rooms, which was on the 2nd floor above the restaurant/kitchen. It was VERY loud quite late into the evening (11 pm-12 mid) as they cleaned up the kitchen (clashing bottles into dumpster, silverware and dishes going through cleaning). We really just wanted to rest and it was difficult. The room itself, although very spacious - with a separate sitting room and kitchen area, was odd. There was a kitchen that had been partially dismantled - stove was missing - and the lip on floor at kitchen transition was pointed and raised. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was satisfactory. The shower head's location was odd - and made it difficult to have a relaxing shower. Our teenage kids had a standard room in the back which was very quiet. I think I would have enjoyed my stay more in their room. This room was great for viewing the end of the bike race.
