We have been to this hotel many times, with and without kids, and keep coming back for two things which we don’t find elsewhere: the excellent location almost right on the beach and the very pleasant atmosphere of the hotel. Also, the hotel has an outdoor pool with a lovely terrace.

The hotel is a beautiful example of old Amsterdamse school architecture. Inside it is nicely decorated, not new but we would not agree it needs to be refurbished. Various room sizes and views are available. We believe the prices are very reasonable for this area and the location of the hotel. Breakfast is very good, dinner too.

We went here with our two kids from 6-10 May 2020, when the corona lockdown was still in place. The hotel arranged this very well. Breakfast could be ordered the night before and brought to the table, rather than as a buffet. Dinner was well organized too, so as to not violate the 1,5m rules. We felt safe and still relaxed enough to enjoy our break.

Staff is very friendly, reception has good recommendations about the area and bike rental, for example.

The only thing missing is a coffee maker in the room.

We cannot wait to go back.

Wanted to spend 2 nights along the Dutch coast and chose Bergen as our destination.
The choice of Hotel Nassau was a mistake. Insufficient parking, no elevator (a bit problematic for us seniors) no offer to help with luggage from staff either.
We chose a De Luxe room. Do not understand what made it that, Sparsely furnished, ill matching curtains, an awful greenish-blue paint on the wall to give the room a nautical look, a "slightly" used instruction manual. At least we had a bit of a view onto the beach and the sea. For the price we paid one would expect a "bit' more. The dining room did not look to enticing so we ate out both nights and that was a very good idea.

We had a junior suite ( room 24 ) and had a big balcony and big windows with direct view to the Atlantic ocean. There was a couch and a chair plus table in the room, the beds were good.
Breakfast was also very good, fresh fruits and eggs, bacon....and fresh O-juice.
Diner was very good, no complaints.

The rooms are decent, with nice bathrooms, but there is no fan, coffee facilities, or fridge in the room or ice machines in the corridors. Staff provided poor and unfriendly service about check in times, and rude demeanor made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but unfriendliness is unacceptable.

A great nostalgic place hotel which has some very classic inner architecture. This also means no lift, lots of steps and unlogic routes to find your way.

The place is keep tidy and clean and the breakfast is excellent.

If you can ignore the outdated elements, this is the best hotel to go to in Bergen. We will be back next year.

Pros: location was perfect-right on the beach, breakfast was excellent
Cons: my friend woke up with a big bug in her bed. When we told the manager she simply said: "Oh, that's not so good. Thank you for letting us know." No retribution was made whatsoever. At night we went to the bar, and it was drizzling and very, very hot (30 degrees Celsius). We wanted to sit outside, under the umbrella, but the bartender told us that that wasn't possible because the umbrellas would get wet..... She would rather the guests be uncomfortable then get the umbrella wet! Mind you that there was not airconditioning in the hotel and there were only a handful of windows that opened.
Our room did not have a coffee/tea maker. The room was a junior suite, right under the roof. There were only two small windows we could open up 5 centimeters each. No fans were available and the management did nothing to make it more comfortable for the guests.
I would never stay here again. The bug in the bed in the morning was the cherry on top.

We stayed with our dog in the 3 bedroom house directly next to the hotel. It has a large dining and sitting area, a highlight is the garden area with a direct entrance to the hotel pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. The resort is quiet with miles of sandy beaches. A good alternative to Sylt. Limited car parking during high season in general, but the hotel will help with finding a solution! If you are bored with the beach, Amsterdam is only 45 minutes away.

Stayed for an evening in a deluxe room August 2017. The accommodations were lovely and the room was large with a private patio protected by a dune. This hotel is in a cute area with a beach and pool and many bike trails. The hotel has a dining restaurant with an executive chef named Elmer. The breakfast was very nice with good selection and lots of options that were delicious.

This is an excellent, well priced hotel with super facilities and spotless rooms! We took a junior suite for five days and the quality of the room was excellent. The location is top notch too being a short stroll to the beautiful beach. Helpful staff and friendly service with professional reception team. We leave tomorrow and will be sad to go!
