Detailed Reviews
We stayed here in June 2020 and returned in December 2020, which is a compliment for the hotel. The location is very close to the beach and the beautiful dunes of Schoorl. In June we chose the mastersuite which is a very large room with a kitchen and roofterrace. The stairs to the room where quite steep. In december we returned with a nice package deal including meals and bicycles. We had a much smaller room that weekend. For only two nights in the winter we didn’t want to pay the amount for the suite. It was a good room but it would have been niche with coffee and teamaking facilities. The package was good value for money.
On both visites they did well on the COVID-19 rules. The only thing they could improviseren on this matter is controlling or helping visitors at the breakfastbuffet. I mean better point out and repeat the use of handgloves and masks.
We liked the dunes and the beach for cycling and walking and we will probably return in another season.

I had a lovely time. The staff were very friendly and absolutely great! I felt very much at home. The approximately to the sea was great. The breakfast buffet was good and absolutely sufficient. I missed pancakes though. The room was absolutely sufficient as well as the bathroom. The sink was a bit small but cute. There iss no blow dryer included but it is possible to rent one. All in all : to me almost perfect.

My absolute favorite hotel in Bergen and in North Holland overall. My nephew and I have been traveling here every summer for almost ten years and it is always a relief to arrive here. From the boss of the house to Fred at the bar and every single employee, everyone is professional and cordial. Warm greetings to the entire team at Hotel Victoria. Peter & Jan

We where expecting the usual experience of a sea side town in the Netherlands - overly packed and way too busy. This Hotel is in a sleepy little sea side town, clean rooms, simple breakfast and pleasant and helpful staff. Easy to park there too.... great.
The walls are paper thin so do please be considerate to your fellow travelers.
(its not the Hotels responsibly its YOURS fellow inconsiderate travelers who insist on blasting your TV loud at mid night!)

My partner and I booked this hotel with a Groupon action which included a big room, breakfast and 2 three course dinners. When we got there it was immediately clear that this hotel is totally outdated. The room was small, the walls paper thin and the carpet really dirty. Breakfast was ok but the other meals in the restaurant were on the border of uneatable! Simple chicken with raw potatoes, vegetables in a curry sauce heated up in the micro, ice cream so frozen that it does justice to it's name in the worst way, soup with fat floating on top, in short: horrible experience. You can expect to be sitting at the table for two hours to get your three dishes....
Only good thing about this hotel is that it's close to the beach and that's why we came after all.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and we will certainly not come back.

Was with my Family here from July 27th to August 3rd. Very disappointing service, unfriendly staff and very very unfriendly owner. The two rooms we had were classified as "comfort" but they were very poor - far away from good standard. The breakfast is awful. The Kids went to the Shop next door äs they did. Not like this Kind of Food. And so did wie the next Day. We left early to spend the Rest of our Holiday in a more pleasant surrounding. Never again. Chris and Dorothee.

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel.
Location - 3 minutes from the beach. Right in the centre of the small village of Bergen aan Zee. We flew to Schipol, Train to Alkmaar and no 6 bus from Alkmaar station stops right outside the hotel. ( 30 mins 2.90 e per person)
Hotel - on arrival on a thursday evening, the bar was buzzing - people sat around playing cards, music on jukebox and restaurant fairly full - this made for a great atmosphere.Hotel is clean and tidy in a traditional dutch style .
Room - we had room 40 - 3rd floor. Not a room but a suite. Gorgeous. Massive panoramic windows open on to a big balcony with sunloungers and table and chairs overlooks the dunes at back of hotel. Partitioned off double bedroom with good storage. Living area with sofa, table and chairs. Big bathroom - walk in shower , seperate bath ( whirlpool). View of beach from balcony and window. Room has kitchen facilities - fridge, dishwasher, cooker etc but strangely no crockery/cutlery - we could have asked for some but werent bothered. Room serviced daily - clean towels etc. Cracking room at 140 e a night
Food - breakfast is atypical all you can eat buffet - eggs, ham .cheese, fruit bread, cereals etc. We ate in dining room 1 night - a la carte food was first rate. They do a daily cheaper meal which looked good.
Staff - very friendly, happy to talk to us and all spoke english even though its mainly dutch/germans who frequent bergen aan zee. We had a slight emergency which necessitated getting to bergen ( 5k away) and the manager insisted on driving us there, waiting for us and bringing us back. A real star.
Summary - a great , friendly hotel in a lovely beach location - bergen beach is great.

We stayed in the best room, with panorama view and whirlpool bath; well worth e120/night. BBC 1 and 2. Personable staff and good food in the restaurant. Upon e-mailing my booking enquiry the manger/owner 'phoned me to discuss what I wanted. PS try Texel beers whilst you are in Bergen aan Zee

A modest, bit out dated hotel but ok hotel. The hotel is located on one of the main roads driving into Bergen aan Zee. Staff are friendly and always ready to assist. The stairs to the rooms on the first floor is steep and one should be careful getting up and down the stairs. The hotel is aware of this and guests are made aware of this up front. This is the first hotel I came visited who rewards guests with coupons if they mind the environment and re-use their towels. I really appreciate this and would like to compliment the hotel on this. A room at the back of the hotel, included a bath and a balcony for one to relax. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy just a basic Dutch breakfast. Point of attention: moist in the bathroom - the air extraction is only during day and only on specific times.

Nice and friendly hotel, close to the beach and the sea in a small little village without overboarding tourism. Rooms can differ in quality, some rooms have been nicely refresehd - some areas need an urgent refresh (like the sauna area ...). The stairs at the hotel (no elevator) are remarkable and may become a showstopper for elder people. Overall a very positive and kind athmosphere, the staff is helpful and friendly, the kitchen is ok - family oriented, easy. We travel there at least twice a year for a weekend or a week - and all my family loves it....
