The Best Western Princes Marine Hotel is celebrated for its prime beachfront location with stunning sea views and easy access to public transport, though it's worth noting some concerns about limited parking. Guests consistently laud the hotel's clean and spacious rooms, many boasting balconies with sea vistas, albeit road noise can be an issue for some. The lively local pub adds to the hotel's vibrant atmosphere, despite dated decor in places. Travelers appreciate the friendly and helpful service, which, along with the hotel's overall cleanliness and value, makes for a pleasant stay.

When we booked, this hotel was almost full. We managed to book a double and needed them to bring up an additional bed for our 5 year old child, however, although this was set up on arrival, there is an additional charge of £20 for this which I think isn't fair in this current climate. Check-in was done on-line with just a payment to be made at reception.

Two additional key cards were issued at no charge. The room was clean and tidy as always and we had a lovely view of the sea. I didn't have a good night sleep but that's because I'm accustomed to a memory foam pillow for my neck which I didn't bring. I could have happily stayed in the room all day just looking out at the sea.

Breakfast was ok, my little one didn't want her scrambled eggs on toast and we asked if we could change it to a few fried eggs with beans but we were told only one plate was included in the price.

All in all, a good stay.

We loved everything about our stay at this hotel. The staff obviously love what they do and this is reflected in the attentive and pleasant service they provide. From check in to check out it was all good. A lovely clean and comfortable room with sea view with all that you could ask for for a short stay. 2 comfy tub chairs, a desk with chair lots of options for lighting with side lights and main light. Radiators that work, a nice clean bathroom, telephone, T.V. Free WiFi, hairdryer, blackout curtains, full length mirror, a built in large wardrobe with shelving, and room service is generally available. The rooms with a sea view are definitely worth asking for, where the views across the Hove Lawns to the beach huts and then on to the sea are often spectacular with sunrise and sunset displays of cloud and and sea. Generous breakfasts, good service, and a fresh flower on every table and also in the reception area. In reception there is a brochure rack with lots of ideas of what to do around Brighton. The bus stop that can take you 2 miles in to town is just outside the hotel and immediately on the other side of the road for the return journey. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and we were very pleased that we had chosen it.
The situation in Hove proved to be excellent with a bus stop outside the hotel with a direct link to Brighton centre.
The corner room we were allocated on the top floor (5th) had a very good view of the beach and surrounding area.
It appeared that the room had been refurbushed and was extremely comfortable and spacious.
The breakfast was good with a good choice of items and served by friendly staff.
We also had one dinner in the evening which we enjoyed.
If we visit the area again in the future we know that we would stay at this hotel again.

Staff were caring and attentive to an extreme even down to room cleaner finding me a step to enable me to climb into the bath when she saw I was using crutches. Restaurant staff at breakfast were there to help me at the buffet without being asked. You don't beat that type of service.

A lovely surprise by my husband who took me away on a lovely 2 night break at the Best Western Hotel. Easy to get to by train and cab from Brighton Station, we arrived slightly early and were unable to check in to our room. We walked over to the front and sat by sea which was very relaxing.

When we did check in it was all very COVID 19 safe, hand sanitiser all around the hotel. We were in the Coastal Bedroom which overlooked the sea with a balcony, it was lovely., clean and a bright room.

We ate in the restaurant on the 1st night and the food was wonderful, really recommend sea food starter and steak meal, food and service was brilliant and again COVID 19 guidance was followed.
Breakfast was great too and excellent service provided from the restaurant team.

Good bus service from stop outside the hotel front which we got into Brighton and got a reasonable return ticket on the Coastliner bus 700.

Hove had lots of shops and eating places.

Really recommend the beach hut cafe opposite the hotel, can sit on the beach with drinks, ice creams and food.

Overall the hotel was very clean. staff were very friendly as well as the cleaning staff that we spoke too. Would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back again.

We stayed here as we were visiting relatives in Hove - a great location with the beach opposite and a lovely stroll into Brighton itself. It's about half an hour stroll to the I360 in Brighton. The 700 bus stops right outside the hotel and is very convenient to take into Brighton or in the opposite direction - runs very frequently. The room was spacious with storage and tea/coffee tray. Spotlessly clean and was serviced each day of our stay with tea/coffee supplies refreshed. The staff were very pleasant. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as this was charged at £14.50. There are several cafes in the locality which do brilliant breakfasts for half the price - would highly recommend the Sunshine Cafe just around the corner. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the lift has to be the slowest lift ever, and the extortionate cost of breakfast.

Great location within east walking distance of Brighton centre. Helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were lovely and clean and recently had new carpets fitted (they smelt fab when stepped out the lift)
We never tried the breakfast as we ate out every morning but seemed popular and reasonably priced at £14.95 for full English
£9.95 for continental
Rooms were made up everyday tea and coffee also replenished.
Plenty of restaurants and pubs within easy walking also.
The parking was free a little tight to get in.
Overall a fab stay.

If you’re looking for anything resembling a lye in, go elsewhere. Vacuum cleaner on and being banged into the door before 8am, followed by a knock to make the room up shortly afterwards. I would have slept better on the roadside. Wall sockets were not working. About 3 spaces in the ‘car park’ …2 star hotel with 4 star prices.

We stayed here in 2019 and were walking out of the room on our second day and the bathroom extractor fan was on fire, flames licking up the wall. MY Kids were crying and I averted disaster by managing to put it out with a wet towel. The fire brigade was called as the room was full of thick smoke. I had then had to NEGOTIATE a discount with the reception on leaving. The extractor was replaced but had possibly caught fire through dust accumulation. Happy to verify the fire brigade being called out as I am sure they keep a record.

Responded Jun 28, 2020
Dear sir/madam, Thank you for your comments - I’ve spoken to others managers regarding this incident as it happened a year ago to recall information. This was acted on immediately and replaced due to a faulty extractor fan- our fans are constantly cleaned by our maintenance team. I can only Apologise again for the faulty fan and can ensure you this is the first problem we have had with one. Kind regards, Management Team

There are spaces at the front of the hotel marked disabled. I think these are mostly used as overflow when rear carpark is full and officially spaces are on a first come first served basis. It is a friendly hotel who I am sure will try to help if you contact them.
