Lovely friendly lady on reception. Upgraded us to the bridal suite .Lovely bottle of prosecco too. Staff lovely and room great.Lovely place for a special treat. They honestly couldn't do enough for us. Room service for breakfast was spot on time and hot.
Had my wedding there what a sham BRIDES BEWARE you dont get what they promise ,forgot to set my wedding decorations up my family and myself had to do it 1 hour before the ceromony.my pictures just show the stress and panic we had.Bridal suite toilet had the remains of the prevoius guests bowels ,room was dirty dj served the buffet
Attended a wedding which was fantastically managed by the team there. However our room let us down with the wallpaper peeling on the wall (rhs of the window wall corner, full length) We decided to pay the extra for the breakfast which was extremely disappointing, I opted for the full English which consisted of sausage, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, beans cold grilled tomato, 2 fried eggs (1 brown and crispy other ok but both with hard overcooked yolks) and fried bread which looked so pale and tasted like it had just been dipped in hot fat and not fried properly. If I had known I could add photo's as evidence I would have taken them... Some might say the kitchen was busy but with us being the first table of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids under 10 only having cereal) along with the bride and groom making 9 people they should be able to cope.…
On New years Eve we had a lovely evening at the Crown Hotel, the food was great and we even had bag pipes played. I was going to say i would recommend it to everyone until we received a car parking fine of £50 this morning for parking in the hotel car park. We spent around £300 on food and drink but obviously that wasn't good enough they now want more. I have eaten at the Crown on numerous occasions and never had to pay at the pay and display which i might say is not visible or we might have questioned it. On arrival at the reception we gave our name and would have thought that if this was a new system it would have been nice to have been asked if we were in the hotel car park that we now had to pay. Nothing was mentioned. The people we took really enjoyed the evening and have said they would go and eat there again. I think once we tell them we have had to pay a fine they wont bother and i will certainly be passing this onto family and friends.…
Perfect day in every way - staff, room and food all brilliant. We were looked after from start to finish and the master of ceremonies and DJ were especially good. Couldn’t have asked for more. Canapés and food lovely and loads of comments from my guests on how good everything was
Had a lovely meal here just after Christmas the food was delicious accompanied by some brilliant table service from a lovely young lad called jak , who was very attentive and went the extra mile for us, will be back soon.
Lovely service from Jak, very attentive and informative. He had a lot of knowledge and remained conscientious throughout the night and delivered our 2 Starters with 3 mains and it all came hot. Really enjoyed ourselves, will be coming back.
Stayed at the Crown as part of a staff Christmas night out. The room was a superior one and well appointed. Appreciate the hotel is slightly dated and the shower is small and the shower head is fixed. But that was a minor niggle as the room was warm and quiet so I got a really good night's sleep. There was plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. The breakfast choice was very good and the full English breakfast was amazing. The quality of the food was good and everything was tasty. If you need a hotel in or near Bawtry I would recommend this place.
Sent to the hotel by Bawtry Hall to get a taxi. Had friends staying there after a wedding. Met by aggressive bouncer who in -3 degrees only provided negative commentary, was extremely rude and unhelpful. Told us we had no chance of a taxi (we did manage to get one so he was simply being negative). Would not even allow us to wait inside as we attempted to get a taxi. Would happily have purchased drinks. A disgrace to this hotel and would never stay there or visit
Due to its location and our own specific needs we have visited this hotel on a number of previous occasions. Sadly this weeks visit certainly did not live up to our expectations and will not be returning any time soon. In our opinion, the Crown Hotel is certainly NOT a luxury hotel as advertised and for sure is overpriced for what you get in return. The hotel is drab and in need of a major renovation, our bedroom was cold upon arrival with the heating only coming on during specific hours of business, this cant be right especially with temperature dipping at zero, or below. Many of the fixtures and fittings have been poorly installed and/or ignored and there were nice touches to make you feel welcomed. At £165 for just one night, excluding breakfast which then added a further £15 p/p was adding insult to injury and on top of this a new car parking fee of £6 for 24 hours is also not to justified. The breakfast was know where near the quality of our previous visits with my wife and I having to organise to ourselves in the breakfast area whilst the staff looked on, chatted amongst themselves or drank coffee directly in front of us.…
