Beautiful, tranquil setting with well equipped self catering chalet within easy reach of Aviemore and the Cairngorms. This was our 8th consecutive year and each one has been perfect. Peter & Jeanette (the owners) are great hosts!
Great spot for some quiet time. Lovely, well kept, cosy chalet, well located for nearby attractions in Carbridge and further afield. We had our dog with us, and while you can't let your dog off the lead in the grounds, there's a forest to the back of the grounds where dogs can roam free.
The Fairwinds Chalet based holiday was perfect for us in many ways.We found clean rooms, quality bedding and fixtures and perfectly stocked kitchen - in utensils and appliances.Being in Scotland it got a bit chilly at nights - but use the heating system like a grown-up (and sensibly) and low and behold the Chalet was comfortable for grandparents, children and grandchildren. The site area was safe and secure for even the smallest of the grandchildren to enjoy the freedom of the small play area - that's when we weren't counting Squirrels, Deer and Rabbits. For a peaceful and relaxing break i cannot fault what we chose as our base. Please note: You are booking a self-catering type of holiday - so please give respect to the owners request to leave the Chalet in at least as good condition as you found it.Well done to the owners for maintaining the facilities and grounds to a high standard - despite the lashings of Scottish weather.
We have been returning to Fairwinds Chalets for years. It is such a relaxing holiday. The chalets are comfortable and well equipped, and the location is superb. Nature literally on your doorstep - the photos of red squirrels and roe deer were taken from our chalet window. The only possible complaint would be that the wifi was somehow temperamental - but then again, you don't come to the Cairngorms to stare at your laptop!
