We stayed at Ashfields for one night. It was not long enough. Kate and Russ were perfect hosts and the accommodation was second to none. Being a garden lover myself , I felt that this was an oasis. Kate loves her garden but she is also an excellent cook. Russ was a dab hand with the barbecue! Our stay was...

We were very happy with our stay here on our New Zealand holiday. Our hosts, Kate and Russ, were very nice, and were always on to have a chat, and to help us with places of interest in the area. The breakfast was home made and fantatstic. A great place, and quite central and relaxing. We look forward to staying...

An outstanding experience. The attention to detail is outstanding and every thing is well thought out down to the last details particularly in the bathroom. Kate and Russ are hosts who are so easy to get along with and their pre dinner drinks time with guests is really informal and a relaxing time. The garden is a delight and a...

We were lucky enough to find Ashfields for an overnight stay and had correctly anticipated that our only regret was going to be the brevity. From the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted like family by both Kate and Russ until our all too quick departure the following morning, there is nothing we could fault. Ashfields is a loving...

This B&B was one of the highlights of our tour in New Zealand. Not only are Kate and Russ delightfull people, their home tasteful and well planned, the rooms spacious and clean, breakfast wonderful, but we even got our own private tour of their Kiwi orchard. The garden Kate has created is manna to the eyes, I could have spent...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights from 1 January 2014 to 5 January 2014. Russ and Kate were absolutely delightful - really great company and hosts. Their house, gardens and swimming pool are absolutely amazing. And the situation is very handy for Whakatane and the nearby beaches. We did manage to tear ourselves away from the sun...

We spend 2 nights and one hole day with Kate an Ross. It was a very friendly and warmly welcome with light snack and a wine. The room is one of the most comfortable places with a own living, own terrace. The garden is beautiful and they offered us their pool. The breakfast is delicious and the cappuccino the best...

This bed and breakfast was by far the most enjoyable place that we stayed during our two week drive of the North Island. We were made extremely welcome in this house as if we were family visiting from a long time away. From the moment we were settled in our beautiful room, we were sitting down in front of the...

Oh, how we regretted staying here for only one night! And to add insult to injury we left early in the morning to go to White Island, only to find the tour was cancelled that day, so we could have lingered a bit longer after breakfast! After a big drive we were so warmly welcomed with a home cooked meal,...

Unfortunately we only spent two nights with Kate and Russ. We feel that in those two days we have started a wonderful friendship. While the accommodation is splendid with bedroom and a large sitting room with fireplace etc. we could hardly make use of it as we spent most of our time with Kate and Russ in the kitchen or...
