Just wrote a negative review about the bad hotel we stayed in in Nosara recently. So wish we'd known about Lagarta before our trip. Went for breakfast and met a couple of other families who all agreed this was really the only place for families in Nosara. Sweet couple who run this small hotel and they seem to do it...

This hotel was beautiful. Sitting on the deck to your room you overlook the jungle and the ocean. The owners are a very nice Swiss couple - and the breakfast is awesome!! I also had the cheesecake for dessert one night - heavenly. Rooms are clean and the maids do an excellent job. Only complaint was tiny little "noseeums" biting...

Logarta Lodge is a gem and an oasis and has everything a five star hotel has to offer and more, but for a lot less money and much more flair. The Swiss owners (Regina and Amadeo) know how to run a hotel smoothly while adding their personal touch. They are ecologically oriented, something that is noticeable throughout the hotel, and...

This was our first visit to Costa Rica and Lagarta lodge was perfect in so many ways. Amadeo and Regina were the kindest owners who were always there to answer questions and provide any information we needed. Views of the ocean and the reserve were so beautiful. We spent the days at the beach and loved going back up to...

Hands down a wonderful experience. We arrived early, met the owner (originally from Sweden), and paid our nominal fee/donation to enter the park (maybe it was 6USD per person? maybe it was 12? I forget). We arrived a little later than I would have liked (7am) so we missed a pretty good chunk of a potential birding window, however... I...

My wife and children stayed here during spring break, and we absolutely loved the lodge. Beautiful views and an easy walk down to the beaches. Our room was nice, and we had monkeys outside in the trees every morning. Really neat, and the kids loved it. The Swiss owners were very hospitable and quite nice, and they made sure all...

Our family had a wonderful 6 nights at Lagarta Lodge. Amadeo and Regina, the owners, are warm and gracious, knowledgable about the area, and run a very clean hotel, at which everything is well maintained and the service is impeccable. Great food is eaten in an open air restaurant with views of the awe inspiring sunsets. The buildings are a...

All I knew was that I wanted my family of four to have an authentic Costa Rica holiday and not stay in a grand hotel with a lot of tourists...and because of TA and the reviews about Nosara, we found just that. The views, the owners, the huge communal table for breakfast open air, our balcony and the monkeys...enough said....

We entirely enjoyed our stay at Largarta Lodge. With a beautiful view over the ocean and river from our private balcony, a lovely breeze more often than not, listening to the sounds of the waves and the birds, howler monkeys and other creatures, watching the sunset -- what more could a person ask for! The owners Regina and Amadeo were...

This was one of the very best places we stayed during a month in Costa Rica. The views from the restaurant, sunset bar and the rooms are nothing short of stunning. Regina and Amadeo are excellent, friendly, professional hosts and the high standards here reflect their Swiss origins. They are rightly proud of their Eco credentials. Rooms are spacious and...
