We were only able to stay here one night and we truly wish we would have stayed the entire length of our Costa Rican trip. It was one of the most memorable parts of our trip dues to its incredible location and phenomenal rooms. Food is great also! Highly recommend.
We had a great stay at the 4 bedroom Nacho Casa that is part of Olas Verdes. The grounds are tucked right in amongst the trees and local plants and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The hotel is a 4 minute walk from the beach and is centrally located close to everything in Nosara. The staff at the hotel is fantastic. Incredibly helpful, kind, and happy but we found that to be the case with everyone we met in Nosara and Costa Rica as a whole. A great place with great people, I can’t recommend Olas Verdes enough.
I stayed here for 2 weeks in late November and early December while attending surf school (Safari Surf School has their office on the premises of the hotel). I loved my stay at Olas Verdes. The room was amazing, the hotel was quiet (only 17 rooms so not a lot of people), and only a couple hundred metres from the beach (Playa Guiones - great waves for beginners, soft sand, amazing sunsets) through a forest path. The pool, bar and restaurant were top-notch, and the staff was amazing. Will definitely recommend to others and go back again.
If you're looking for an outstanding hotel with an excellent staff, you'll want to stay at the Olas Verdes. The concierge team is outstanding. If you need help with finding things to do, like restaurant recommendations and tours, they'll help you identify and book the activities. I highly recommend the sunset horse tour, a visit to Rosi's Soda Tica, and the ATV ride to Malos Noches waterfall. Be sure to make full use of the surf school and the private path to the beach for a surf at sunrise. I had a wonderful experience and stay at Olas Verdes. Highly recommend!
Our Family of 3 spent 3 nights at Olas Verde and wished we booked for longer. The hotel was perfect, the grounds amazing, fantastic food and the team at Olas Verdes was amazing. We boked the beach apartment which is actually two rooms on top of each other - not connected. Our 15 yr old was in the lower room and we took the top. The rooms were very spacious, clean, some may say dated but we were there for the location and experience. The laundry service was also outstanding and well used. We really appreciated the eco friendly feel of the hotel and how committed they were to the environment. The reusable water bottles were a nice touch and used for the rest of our vacation. The food was wonderful - we ate both at the hotel and in town and preferred the hotel. The beach was amazing and we loved the walking path to get there - it added to the whole experience. There was a bit of mud that you could avoid with some careful steps and a bridge to walk on but it was fun. We used Safari surf for board rentals and they were awesome. I wish we would have used them for instruction as well. Next time. The sunset surf was the best and the beach had the best sunsets that we saw in all of our stops. Would highly recommend the hotel and area.…
This our 3rd trip to Nosara and the best place we have stayed. My family of 6 was here for the week of Christmas and Olas Verdes did not disappoint. You can’t get a hotel any closer to the beach. Grab your board after an amazing (included) breakfast and walk 3 minutes down the quiet jungle path to surfing nirvana. Olas Verdes has a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere being tucked into the trees. I woke up one morning to the howler monkeys moving into the trees in front of our 2 story residence. They set up shop there and slept all day. It was magical. A big thank you to an amazing, helpful, and friendly staff. Much is gracias to Inez, Isabelle, Paulina, and JP. There were many more to thank, but cannot remember the names. You can’t go wrong with this place. 5 stars!! David Bozeman, Montana, USA…
The hotel is situated behind Guiones beach - right in the middle of the forest. The walk to the beach takes you on stepping stones over a steam - with Fiddler Crabs scuttling away. The beach is fantastic - excellent for surfing and boogie boarding (and the hotel let you borrow their boogie boards). A short car journey away are more amazingly unspoilt beaches for you to explore. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Food in the hotel is excellent - particularly the tenderloin beef.
This is a LEEDS certified hotel which I’m telling you because it gives you an idea of the holistic, caring and self-sustaining vibe that they try to create here. The staff are the most welcoming people and are literally here to make your stay as pleasant as possible. You’ll see in here howler monkeys in a setting that is surrounded by nature. The location is great but the people are even better ☺️
Costa Rica is seemingly world-famous for its natural beauty and for the friendly locals. This is the first time we’ve had a chance to visit and everything they say is true! The staff at Olas Verdes went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. I can’t say enough good things about the ladies at the front desk, who helped us plan our trip from beginning to end, always with a smile. Weather impacted a couple of our activities but they proactively helped us move things around so that we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Nice restaurant on-site, just a short walk to the beach and some fun activities, plus plenty of amenities… couldn’t’ve asked for a better vacation. Thank you everyone 🙏🏼
Olas Verdes is a magical place in a great location at Guiones Beach. You have this beautiful hotel in the middle of the jungle and 2 minutes walk from the beach. The hotel is not only great because of its location, what makes it special is the people working on it. Everyone from the staff is always with a smile and willing to help, to make you feel like home. The food is amazing, the hotel is lucky enough to have an amazing chef with lots of ideas and good good good taste working on it. Even the drinks are amazing, fresh limonates after a surf session is always more than welcome. But once again, what makes this hotel as amazing as it is, is the people working on it.
