Stayed a week in a two bedroom bungalow. Pleasant surprise to be upgraded upon arrival. Very spacious 2 bedroom bungalow with nice private terrasse, 2 sunbeds, table and chairs. Kettle, shower and even a jacuzzi! Very peaceful area about 20 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Special thanks go to Maria who made this place look spotless everyday. What a lovely, friendly lady. I would definitely stay here again! If you are a cat lover, you will have plenty of them to look after here and why not, like me, take one back home with you to a real loving home? Just send a mail to Agia Marina Donkey Rescue and speak to Barbara who will help you with the paper work and please go and visit their sanctuary 15 min drive from here. Fabulous devoted family!
Booked a bungalow and double room months in advance of our trip. We arrived to be told the hotel was overbooked, no apology, just these things happen! 5 of us were put in a 2 bedroom accommodation with only 1 bathroom and a camp bed in the main living area, nothing was offered to make up for the inconvenience! Will not be going back!!
Comfortable beds, clean. Breakfast not so great but close to town. Short walk to matala beach but easy....at night take a torch or light on phone for safety. Nice ceiling fans. Makes s change from Aircon constantly
Our bungalow had 4 beds in two rooms, two of which made a big double that was super comfy. In general the complex is a package holiday type of place that is in pretty good condition but obviously quite old. Buffet Breakfast is included and is reasonable. Town and the beach are nice and about a 15 min walk. Ample parking.
Very pleasant atmosphere, delicious dinner, as if Mama cooked it. This is the way to imagine Greece. Friendly, and uncomplicated. The way to the beach and the beautiful village Matala is short and on foot well also several times a day to cope.
We stayed here while visiting the festival - location was very good as just outside the village but still an easy walk - we stayed in the main building with a nice view across the pool, our room was clean, comfortable, good bathroom, and the air con worked very well which was important as it was extremely hot and humid so it was essential. The breakfast was plentiful and good value for the money - we will be staying here again when we visit Matala next year
Stayed here for three days. They had upgraded us to their super pretty white bungalow which we love love love! Lovely quiet area with plenty of space for parking. It has two rooms and four bed. A bit difficult for us to sleep on two twin beds being put tgt but not much of a problem. We had a back garden where you can dry you clothes with the string provided, a table with chairs and sun beds. All they need is a kitchen then we could literally move in! Though the garden needed to be mended a little bit. The green garden is so lovely there were flowers bumble Bees and butterfly everywhere. perfect for those who love a bit of nature but definitely not for those who can't take bugs and insects. Nice selections for breakfast except the coffee from the machine isn't too nice. Having breakfast in the sun at the garden was the best way to start the day as well as the sweet watermelons made me very happy every morning. …
I booked us a room in Matala Valley Village having done very little research. Here is what I found. Very nice breakfast buffet. Only negative was maybe the coffee which was from a machine. The breakfast staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean. The air-con worked brilliantly and was also clean. I had a few bad experiences in Crete prior to this hotel where the air-con was dirty and mouldy so I was thrilled to find this place. Very close to Matala Beach but you will need a car to get there. Beds were so comfortable. Slept like a baby. One other negative. The WiFi was really not very good. But keep in mind we were in the bungalow that was the farthest away from the reception desk. Would certainly stay there again if ever I'm back in the area. Great price/quality ratio.…
This is our second time staying here - I must say I think they have done some work on improving the hotel since our last visit 4 years ago. The bungalows are great and very quite. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Penelope! Great value and within walking distance of Matala which is great. The beds are really comfortable
The rooms are more a bungalow. Very big. Very beautifull room. Food (breakfast) was good. Not excellent but very good. It was 500 meters from Matala beach. The room was very clean. Beds are very good. I recommend this hotel
