We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The structure is very nice: the rooms, recently renewed, are clean, spacious and confortable. Also the breakfast is enjoyable. The only defect was that the host has been a little bit grumpy with us. Anyway we enjoyed staying there.

This hotel is at 10 minutes walk from Matala beach. There are many flowers and it is really nice.
Breakfast is excellent and the staff is also very nice!

Rooms are clean but without television neither radio.

I don't know how to say that and it is not very objectiv but myself and my wife didn't have a good feeling so that we only stayed one night instead of two foreseen.

Anyway try it to see.

15 minutes from Matala beach located family hotel with spacious rooms. Clean, quit and comfortable hotel with some negative issues.
There is no television in the rooms. We asked the owner and his reply was that this is a hotel policy and life theory!!. I thing, he has to leave the option to his guests if they want to watch TV or not. No wifi in the rooms but only at the reception. Very short time for the breakfast. From 8:30 to 10:00. Breakfast was just fine. Not more not less.
The refrigerator was unacceptable small.
The pool was very small but that was more than ok for us. We didn't go to Matala to swim in a pool but in the amazing beaches like "Agiofarago", "Agios Pavlos" "Kokkini Paralia", etc.

The location of this Hotel is Beautiful, Breakfast is delightful, all areas are spotlessly clean. But.....Unable to pay Bill by Debit/Credit Card. Bar poorly stocked and not open in the evening. No Food available apart from Breakfast and it is a 15minute walk into the village. The Host appears to be uninterested in what could be a delightful Hotel with the ambience that is quoted in the Hosts review.

Quiet, roomy and clean in a nice garden (we did not use the swiming-pool).
However Air Co is not controlable and maybe sometimes too-cold for the one sleeping underneath and too warm for the ones sleeping above.
And breakfast is poor, especially this sort of chemical orange-flavoured beverage !

The hotel is very nice, like the people managing it. It has spacious rooms with a little balcony. Breakfast is good with "huge" portions. The negative side is that if you haven't a car, it is quite far from the center of the Matala Village.

ATTENTION, SCAM ! Don’t fall for the pictures and reviews as i did. If you‘re looking for a place with furniture of the 1960‘s and atmosphere of a bad horror movie of the 1980‘s, that‘s the place to be! The weird -and sometimes really scary- owner Olympios is ruling his place like a Maharadscha for now 33 years, selects who can stay at his hotel (his words), no internet in the rooms, no TV, the pool is closed before 8am and after 8pm (but is not inviting anyway, directly beside the street, no shade, basic sunbeds without pillows…). But the worst about this place is the lack of atmosphere and renovation. Gives you a permanent feeling of being closed in a place where you do not want to be, horrible. And it was almost empty when we were there which made it even more suspicious…I took some picture where you can see state of the bathrooms, the reception with a switchboard on the right that is so old that it is almost cool (but also a bit scary!)….my 2 teenage boys were so scared and disappointed when arriving at the place (as me) that we immediately looked for another one. We stayed one night instead of the 5 booked and Olympios refused to pay back the difference of the down payment referring to a special law in Greece.
THINK 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS PLACE AND VISIT IT BEFORE IF YOU CAN !

Beautiful, colourful flowers, fragrant and bright. A clear and clean pool which is lovingly kept by the owners. Stunning views of hills, cliffs and deep blue skies. Simple, stylish rooms, fresh and tasteful breakfasts taken in a calm and peaceful environment. Warm welcomes, friendly smiles and memorable conversations with the owners and staff. These are just some of the impressions that stay with you, when you stay here.

I've stayed at Armonia twice now, and will be back as soon as possible.

When we arrived at the parking place at the hotel,Manolis{on of the owners} received us very friendly and insisted to carry our suitcases to our room.
So we felt at home from the first moment.
We enjoyed our holiday in the hotel and in Matala itself.
The room was very fine with a balkony wich provided us with a great panorama over the hills,
Breakfast was very good and we really loved to have the breakfast out in the open air ,where you can smell the fine smell of nature of Crete.
It was a walk of about 20 minutes tot the center and beach of Matala.
We did not like the shower so much, because the shower curtain was not sufficient ,the whole bathroom looked like a miniswimmingpool after taking a shower,
Unfortenately the radio didn,t work .
There was no watercooker ,so we could not make a cup of tea /coffee at the room.
On the other side,when my partner ask for a hairdryer she got it imidiately from Olympios{the very friendly co owner ot the hotel.}
And that is the general atmosfere at the hotel, the staff and employers are more than willing to help you with everything..
The bartender Michaelis is also very friendly.
If you like to drink a beer or something else when returning at the hotelbar after 22.00 returning from Matala town, you might have a problem there cause it,s closed..
Garden,swimmingpool ect where absoluteley splendid,
If you look for a hotel to have a nice easygoing holiday this might be the place to be
quit nights ,no disco nois ore drunken tourists.
Harmony pur sang, just as the name of the hotel suggest.
Whe can only say that if whe would visit Matala again whe would gladly stay in this hotel again.
Its not very handy for people with a handicap, due to the stares at the complex.
If you would like to rent a bike there is a bike rental next to the hotel, with very fine bikes of all kinds wich is run by Lydia who happens to be the wife of Olympios, she will offer you a good deal if you mention that you are a hotelgast.

We hadn't booked ahead. Just found the place.Matala can be noisy and crowded. This was a short walk down the road. We just loved this relaxed hotel. Lovely blue and white. Bouganvilla and bunches of black grapes dripped from the arches, adding to the traditional ambiance of the gardens. We felt the tranquility of the village. Olympius the owner is fab, real friendly and helpful. lots of chill out areas.Seems to be lots for kids too. No credit cards accepted. No tv in room. no noise, Just extremely pleasant. Price is reasonable and breakfast is tops!
loved it
