We stayed at the Eva Marina hotel for two weeks. Although it is not a luxury hotel (after all, there are no such hotels in Matala), our stay was very pleasant and we have everything we need. The rooms are spacious enough, have a kettle and a fridge. The terrace is nice, while the hotel garden is beautiful. The staff is attentive and helpful (thanks to Anastasia and Ioannis). It is a very nice and cosy place in the centre of Matala village. Also, everything is near - beach, path to Red beach, bus station.

I stayed here for a few days while discovering the town of Matala. I found the hotel to be clean and cute in a great location. The owner/manager was extremely nice. If I travel to Matala again I would stay here again for sure. I was there in October 2018.

The Eva Marina Hotel is in the really centre of Matala. About 1 minute walk from the beach, there is a private gate connecting the hotel to the main amazing beach. On the other side the exit in the city centre and the coloured streets. The location is really amazing. The room was really large and clean with a huge bathroom and a great balcony. The only point to be reviewed is the breakfast, really poor. It was anyway a great stay.

Nice room in a hotel just a few meters from sentral Matala and the beach. We stayed there only for one night, but had a nice stay. Also had a nice breakdast the following morning. if you come by car, there a only a few parking places outside the hotel, but a bigger parkingplace only 100 meter up the street.

I really recommend this nice and little hotel . The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean the bathroom is a little bit too tiny but with new furniture. I suggest you to book the room 14 which has a balcony on the back garden so the sun won't bother you and it's fresh. We never used the air conditioning ,we slept with the windows opened and was always fresh . Plus the room and bathroom are bigger than the rooms with twin beds. It's very close to everything (bars and restaurants - the path to the gorgeous red beach). But the top are the staff and lovely owner!! They took care of everything with a special care.

Staying so close to the beach and restaurants and still have this quiet, clean place to chill is perfeckt. A small fridge in the room. Ceep your drinks cold. And with the small kitchen equipment you kan have simple meals and coffe or tea at your cosy, privat terasse. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful flowers, lemon trees and grapes. It's like the garden of Paradise. The staff is always there if you need help. This is not a fancy 5 star hotel, its a real good, safe and greek place to stay and to enjoy life. I do not want to leave, and always I like to come back.

It was our 3rd time in Matala and 2nd in Eva Marina. I have nothing bad to say. This time it was even better. It is a basic but we had a bright sunny room, good bed, balcony and really good bathroom - it is so rare in Crete. A bathroom was newly renovated, there was a curtains in a shower!!! Maybe it looks funny but in Crete's hotels there is often a problem with showers. So, apart from this, everything else was nice too - quiet place but still almost in a center. Near to Matala beach and a path to Red beach. A owner is very nice and helpfull. We have stayed for 2 nights and we enjoyed everything. Really recommend.

Very helpful and nice staff and quiet location (no end of season fatigue as you might get with a busy tourist town). Room was good size with terrace. Clean, quiet and cozy.room and bathroom. We very much enjoyed the location to beach and restaurants.

Most friendly staff and well situated hotel in town. This is not an ekstravagant 5 star hotel but it is clean, cosy, unpretentious and well managed. We stayed 2 weeks in 2014 and 2016 and Will definitely come back as it has become our second home.
