Where do I start with this hotel-well probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in in Italy. Why? Because the staff here are magnificent-the building is beautiful and the view to die for! From the young lady that served us breakfast everyday and knew exactly what my daughter’s favourite flavour of yoghurt was; to Alessandro and his colleague who did everything in their power to make this stay perfect. Alessandro couldn’t do enough for us; from sourcing guanciale and Parmesan, to booking our private beach everyday and even refusing to take a deposit for our stay until we were 100% sure we’d make it to Sperlonga in today’s strange post Covid travel world. The walk into town was fine, going back was a steep hill but don’t be put off as the finest views in Italy are always up a hill. We will be back as we have such a memorable and enjoyable time as the guests of Alessandro and staff-see you next Summer we hope!

we've stayed at this hotel five times since 2015. We left a review in September of 2015 the first time we went, also a five star review. And each time it's equally wonderful: clean, bright, cheerful, amazing views to the sea, close to the center of the charming old town of Sperlonga without being commercial, boring or claustrophobic at all. AC perfect (useful nowadays more than ever), WIFI fine, cleanliness guaranteed, great beds, great showers, great breakfasts, great hosts. Each room has a killer view of the town and sea. We love this place. And they are affiliated to what may be the prettiest beach within 100 kilometers of Rome. Alessandro and Emily, who run the place, are wonderful people, going out of their way to do everything they can for their guests. This is simply a fantastic place. And on top of everything they now also have the best restaurant by far in the area. High end dining, amazing food, we will surely be back.

Absolutely the best hotel anywhere! The rooms have magnificent views and are sparklingly clean, beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. The breakfast is delicious and the owners, Alessandro and Emily are the most welcoming and delightful couple. They have created a truly special atmosphere where guests return year-after-year. This was our fifth visit since 2016 and at already planning to return in 2024. Xoxo Moresco Park!

Moresco Park is the only place I have ever stayed in Sperlonga. Once you go there you cannot imagine anywhere else. Alessandro and Emily (and now little Alfredo are) the best hosts ever. The place is immaculate. The restaurant is excellent. If you want a beach day, Alessandro will hook you up totally. I sound like a plant... like a person writing a fake review. All I can say is that I am not. It's one of my favorite places on the planet.

Very pretty, wonderful premises that are new and well finished! Our room was fairly spacious with a lovely small terrace with a great view. The bathroom was very small and it was made very clear that the towels and linen would only be changed every three days.
The hotel does not provide you with any swimming towels and so you would need to bring your own, a mistake that we made as we assumed we would be provided with them. I mistakenly assumed that the hotel had a pool – something that is lacking as it is up on a hill, some distance from town and not particularly self contained. A pool would have been perfect.
The venue is out of town and a car is necessary if you wish to go anywhere – hotel offers no shuttle service or transport of any kind. This may also present a problem as the hotel does not offer any meals other than a small breakast, you are not allowed food in your room in any form and therefore you have to go into town daily to eat.

I would have to say that the establishment is more like a bed and breakfast (or a hostel with a strict headmaster) than a hotel. The manager is involved with absolutely everything you do and watches over your movements like a hawk. Whilst initially his attentiveness was useful, it quickly became very intrusive. He would walk after us as we left to go to the beach, enquiring if we had taken his pillows, he would not allow us to keep our own water in the room or use the bar fridge to keep it chilled.
The other problem is mosquitoes. I started getting bitten from the moment we arrived. I called the manager to ask if he could please send some repellant and he responded "it's impossible". I quickly learned that it was his favorite phrase! The following day we went into town and bought some citronella as that is all that was available. It was not however very helpful and we ended up being bitten throughout our stay.
The breakfast was also supervised closely. There was only one choice of cereal, cheese and ham with some fruit, yoghurt, cakes, croissants as your selection. No hot food whatsoever. The cheese was finished and my daughter asked if she could please have another slice. The manager responded that she already had enough on the table and that once it was finished there was no more. I found this astonishing and most inappropriate. Never has my table been watched by a hotel manager that then passed judgement with regards to the quantity our family was eating – most unusual approach.

If you enjoy the controlling almost school master approach then this is an ideal venue for your stay at Sperlonga.

The ending to this stay was most unpleasant as the owner attempted to overcharge us. This ended in the police being called and the manager was forced under police supervision, to re-imurse us. We did not press charges as we wanted to put the whole dreadful experience behind us,

Response from alexsperlonga, Proprietario at Moresco Park Hotel
Responded Jan 27, 2012
Dear Customer, we have carefully read your review, in this context allows us to thank you for positive comments on the beauty of the structure. As for the breakfast and the lack of the pool there is not strange that she knew as well that are specified by the operator from whom he purchased the trip. As for the mosquitoes in the period of your stay there were these special and exceptional weather conditions (humidity and intense temperatures) to make vain the spraying operation in the days previous. As for the beach towels are available to these customers with an insignificant charge but she did not wish to pay. As for the episode of his daughter at the request of another cheese The staff has since shown that breakfast had been over for nearly two hours, the additional requests were made to the paper, which she did not see fit to do. With regard to the fact that the director was forced to put a stop to your ways are not suitable for a public place only after this has happened many customers have repeatedly complained against you With regard to the alleged attempt to increase the staff to pay the amount due, but we regret not true, therefore it is necessary to an explanation of this episode. Strangely, despite your negative opinion you have asked to extend your stay at our hotel. When to pay the amount due for the stay and extras She refused, and if this were not enough he tried to take away with the goods if owned by the hotel. Absolutely not true, then that security has had to restore anything, because if that were alleged to have committed a serious illegality, is that while the Director has waived the issue of closing the full payment of the amount due. Sincerely The Properties

I chose this hotel on the basis of its description and depictions as set out on their website. The illusion that I had was that this would be a peaceful and relaxing coastal retreat. A place to escape the hustle and bustle of the likes of Rome and Naples.
The hotel is quite pleasant, well finished, clean and neat. It is well positioned with a good view; in fact add a pool and it has the ingredients to be the relaxing retreat that I had in mind. The main problematic ingredient however, is the manager himself. Somewhat like a rotten piece of fruit in a fruit salad that despite your efforts to avoid it, it infiltrates and spoils the entire fruit salad preventing one from enjoying any part of it.

Their restaurant was closed, but we were not allowed to bring our own food onto the premises, even though it is a drive out of town.

The shower was blocked and it seemed to be a hassle when we asked for an extra pillow.

Nice views but you literally sit on your neighbors balcony when you sit outside. Badly partitioned.

The manager watches over you like a hawk and it is difficult to relax and enjoy yourself here.

Dear Customer, we have carefully read his review. Thank you for appreciating the structure. With regard to the shower stopped, we wonder why he did not immediately reported the problem? But especially why, throughout the season, any customer of that room, he showed us the problem? With regard to the pillow, we are sorry, but in our hotel customers who request it, have always received prompt and extra pillows. Regarding the control of the Director on you, this was necessary after that almost all of the guests complained of your uneducated ways .. But what's even more strange is that despite the bad experience you have requested to extend their stay at the hotel (documented). THE TRUTH? In fact you and your friend "puplebird" which is the author of the other negative comments about this hotel, in addition to annoy fellow guests, you are left without pay part of the bill. Your departure has been greeted by the hotel guests as a liberation. Best regards.

For many, I can see the appeal of this property. Rooms were modern and clean, and the views from high atop Sperlonga were exceptional. In fact, a couple of hours sitting on my terrace were most relaxing and enjoyable. Also, breakfast was included in the price, and the options and quality were better than most such buffets.

So with this, why did it not satisfy me?

The wifi worked for emails and basic web browsing. It was not strong enough to hold a Skype connection, which I needed for phone calls. (And this was not a problem with my phone, or with the area, as I was able to make the connection once walking down the hill to the beach.)

The morning shower was hot. The afternoon shower after my return from the beach was only lukewarm.

The tv did not work for me, though I precisely followed the directions in the manual. I was told I made a mistake. Perhaps.

The restaurant, advertised on the website, and commented on by other reviewers, was not open except for breakfast. As one without a car, which was communicated prior to my stay, I had definitely been informed that it was a long walk down the hill. I did not care about such a walk to the beach, as I was content with the views from above, but I did not know that such a walk would be required for my meals.

In response, the owner charged me only one night, and offered to drive me to the bus stop. An older couple there informed me that the next bus was 90 minutes later, so I took a taxi to the train, and was on my way back to Rome.

So, for me, it was not an enjoyable stay. But I can see that many would not care about tv, wifi, and public transportation, and would, instead, merely enjoy the views and the intown restaurants. That being the case, I think I have done my best to make this a fair review, despite my personal concerns.

Response from alexsperlonga, Direttore at Moresco Park Hotel
Responded May 13, 2015
Dear mr. C. thanks for being our guest and for the positive appreciation on our structure, modern, clean, comfortable and with great views from the rooms, and the correct behavior of the hotel to charge only the night's stay, and not the entire stay as required by the type of reservation, demonstrating to you our fair play, for bringing you to the bus station, which I think another hotel would not do. We are sorry that we could not give you an unforgettable stay by our standards of quality, but for transparency and fairness, we can not be silent about the fact that the guest received all information needed, before booking ; asking you to consider carefully before receiving our booking confirmation, even though you have already requested reservation by credit card. We apologize for any inconvenience reported, on which we should give explanations: 1) The free system Internet access throughout the hotel, certainly has the power limits, not because of the hotel but because in a small village like Sperlonga network capacity is limited; at times when all hotel guests at the same time make use of it, a not normal use (skype-video calling) sometimes may cause power fluctuations as happened to you. 2) The Sky sat system and tv LCD Samsung works perfectly, but requires, not to our will, a correct sequence of steps to activate it: would be appropriate that you had asked for help to our staff, that would be happy to help you. 3) the restaurant is temporarily closed. Forgive us if 700 meters or better 10 minutes of pleasant walk is too much for you, to visit the beautiful village of Sperlonga full of delicious restaurants. Our hotel is certainly one of the closest to the center. 4) The hot water is always available with a gradation that prevent receive burns: we are surprised by a slight lowering of the water temperature, not reported by the other hotel guests. However would be appropriate that you had asked for help to our staff, that would be happy to help you. We apologize if the Italian public transport are not suitable for you, but this certainly is not our responsibility. For us, your comment s are very instructive, and , from a certain point of view, also very rewarding; because your complaints seem s made about a 5 star luxury hotel, where, in front of large sums of money, you require exceptional services, just as you can have an unlimited capacity for the Internet, powerful enough to hold video conferences; slight decrease in water temperature, transport with personal driver. Dear guest allow me a digression on the theme, Goethe spoke of elective affinities, or rather of elements that fit together and others that repel, I think this is the case. Best regards Moresco Park Hotel Alessandro Chiuccariello As the bad reviews are more read than positive, we take advantage of this space to give some generic useful tips to the customers: 1) when choosing a hotel make sure that this will fulfill your needs, what can be perfect for someone can be useless for others. 2) Choose the hotel category and typology ( leisure, business, family, kids) most appropriate to your needs 3) When there is a problem, try to mark it immediately, in order to receive the maximum support from the hotel staff If upon arrival at the hotel you have doubts, show immediately, so that the hotel can do what is necessary to find the best solution.

This place is just great and I think you can't find any better in the area.
First of all the owners are great. I spent 10 days with my family and really enjoyed it. Alessandro is a great host: my kids were really fond of him. Emily makes the best cakes you can imagine eating at breakfast.
Recommendations given are genuinely the right ones. Secondly, the place is so clean that you feel even better than at home. Rooms are spotless, terraces and common areas cleaned daily with absolute perfection.
The amenities are good, bathroom is modern and clean. Rooms are also comfortable clean and functional. The view from the room is awesome. The bed is VERY comfortable and the bedsheets make you feel like going to sleep. Air conditioning works perfectly.
I recommend you listen to Alessandro for the beach. You get a special price for the Fortino beach which is less crowded and a little more exclusive than other beach clubs in Sperlonga. Best if you have a car to get there although Alessandro provides for a shuttle service to and from the beach.
Also, since the hotel is not in the old part of town, life is easier if you have your means of transport. There is also a cheap taxi service that takes you to town for 5 euros. If you are fit, it's not more than a 10min walk (but with a considerable uphill san on the way back). When I saw the cockroaches in Sperlonga one evening, I was even more happy to be at the Moresco!!
There is a good restaurant in the hotel called Cru. It is managed by other young fellows from Naples that cook new dishes with the traditional Neapolitan touch. My Neapolitan mom that cooks very well was impressed. So it is worth trying in a not too busy evening.
Wi-Fi is usually working but overall Sperlonga still has the old ADSL system so don't expect miracles.
Overall this place is worth staying at if you are in the area and certainly the best you can ask for.
Avanti così Alessandro e Emily! Alla prossima!

Read the reviews before we came and expected a fantastic time, we were not disappointed. What really stands out initially is the welcome from Alexandro and his wife, they really make the holiday as they are fantastic hosts and genuinely look after you. Wether it's restuarant suggestion or trips to the beach they are always on hand to help out.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with very reasonably priced mini bar. Breakfast is very nice with quite a few options and really fresh fruit.

The beaches we visited on Alexandro s suggestion were some of the best I have ever been too. You are about a 10 min walk to sperlonga old town itself but it's quite enjoyable and pleasant

So overall if you want to be completely looked after and maximise your time in this lovely Italian town you need to stay at this hotel.

Never 3 star hotel, verging on 5

Hello, I'm not really sure what you are asking. The rooms are all on the same level and next to each other, there are fourteen in all. Each have their own patio area and whilst they are separated from each other they do not offer privacy. I hope this answers your question.
