Booked up via Expedia at very short notice. Chose Collingwood room. Excellent facilities throughout. Breakfast, particularly for Veggies, first rate. Could not recommend highly enough. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Already recommended to friends and family.

I'm only going to reiterate what everyone else has said. Sally's attention to detail was exceptional. She had forgotten nothing. The breakfast was the best Ive had anywhere..including posh cruise ships! As vegetarians, we re not used to such extensive choice ,and it really was delicious.. We had the Collingwood View room. Comfortable , warm and very quiet, the view...

We had a very pleasant weekend stay. Our visit was made even better as Sally had cooked my wife done dairy free shortbread. It is lovely when somebody puts in the extra effort. The room was very comfortable there was done light and traffic noise from the street but this was sorted when we realised there was a working shutter...

The best place I've stayed, bar none. I regularly stay in hotels in London and across the UK - this is the best. Everything about it was great. Amazing hospitality. The most extensive breakfast menu I have ever seen. One of the best breakfasts I've had. Extensive snacks and drinks in the room. Board games and about 100 DVDs to...

Our second visit to Sally's Martineau at the start of a short Northumberland break and as lovely as our first visit. We stayed in Priory Room again which is compact but comfortable and with the most amazing view over the coast down to Souter and the river and the Priory. Slept with the curtains open but still missed the Northern...

Thank you again for your lovely review of you stay at Martineau. I am sorry you were disturbed by the couple in the room below and hope it didn't spoil your stay too much. If I stay in the Priory room I always leave to curtains open to see the lights across the river and the sunrise in the morning....

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at this lovely B&B, great location overlooking the Harbour and river at Tynemouth. A very warm welcome from the owner, hostess & breakfast chef. We had the room at the top of the house overlooking the river. The room is compact but is fully equipped & well furnished (& spotlessly clean) with everything you'd...

We stayed here on the night before we set off along Hadrian's Wall and it was a remarkably pleasant B&B. The owner showed us to our rooms, which were nice and clean. Seeing the size of my boyfriend the owner would have preferred to have known that in advance, so we're noting that down as a tip for other guests....

My husband and I stayed the night after our wedding at Crusoes, just up the road from the Martineau. Our hostess was lovely, helpful and a fabulous cook. The room was beautiful with a fantastic view of our home town, South Shields, from the Collingwood suit. Breakfast was devine, fantastic smoothy followed with eggs florentine for myself, my husband opting...

A wonderful B and B with scrumptious, varied breakfasts and a great hostess who offers helpful sightseeing suggestions. Immaculately clean, with a warm inviting interior. Lovely bath products and exceptionally nice towels. Excellent places for dinner just outside the front door. Close to metro.
