My husband and I traveled down to Sailrock in January 2020 and from the moment we arrived, were delighted by the warmth of its staff and the safety of all the precautions taken in light of COVID-19. The resort is operating at a significantly reduced capacity and at most, we spotted 10 or so other guests. We were definitely hesitant about travel all together, but the island has zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the staff is constantly wearing their masks, sanitizing, and cleaning.

In addition to the safety measures, the resort is absolutely breathtaking. There are two beautiful beaches to choose from (both within walking distance, or you can opt to ride bikes or catch a ride complimentary of the resort), each with white sand and clear blue waters. On the Cove Side, there's full bar and food service as well as hammocks and complimentary water activities, including paddleboards, kayaks, and hobie cat. The sunsets are divine, too; just beware of the sand flies that come out at dusk.

The staff is warm, friendly, and very attentive to every need. While we were at the resort, we actually decided to elope and the staff were able to pull everything together in just a couple of days.

There is only one restaurant dining option for each meal, but there are plenty of options to choose from and we never felt bored or tired of the same food. Food and alcohol is a bit pricey, but understandable and worth it given the seclusion of the island.

Sailrock is the perfect destination to completely relax and unplug and we cannot wait to visit again.

Sadly just left the resort today and couldn’t think of a more COVID friendly resort. Everything is outside, private outside entrances to your suite/villa and even in full capacity there aren’t more than 30 people at the beach (no getting up early to save beach chairs, we were routinely the only ones there till 10am). This is one of the most unique places I have been to. The Caribbean Sea beach is white sand and the most quiet cove where we kayaked, paddle board and took out Hobie Cats. Wild donkeys roam the property and the yoga “room” is a wooden platform with amazing views for your practice. We thought the food was delicious (the dinner menu changed every two nights) and the staff couldn’t be more friendly (shout outs to Mon, Jerome, Pema and the manager Anthony). They even planned a special Anniversary dinner for us and adjusted plans when rain made them change the location. This resort is for laid back travelers seeking untouched luxury. Guests should keep in mind they are on a small island with 1200 residents and not everything you desire may be available (e.g., one day we were there the toast options were white toast or white toast - and we were fine with it). We felt what you gained by being off the beaten path was so worth those little sacrifices. I would suggest the hotel invest in some electric carts to shuttle people around the resort, especially two and from the cove (it would be less noisy and better for the environment). It would also be great if the main pool could be heated for those who weren’t in rooms with their own pools. We met a few different travelers who had been to sailrock multiple times and it was clear to see why. We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I almost hate to give Sailrock Resort a review. We would love to keep this gem to ourselves! But here are the things we love about this place that have brought us back 4 times:

1) The wonderful staff. Throughout the resort, we were always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. We could tell they truly cared that we were enjoying ourselves. Putra and Leny always go above and beyond to make us comfortable. We have felt honored to get to know them over the years and now feel like they’re family. Jerom, the bartender at the cove was incredibly attentive and made awesome drinks! Justin, Earl and Kubir also deserve a mention for making us feel special.
2) The island. It’s very quiet, rugged and yet beautiful. We hiked and biked north from the resort. It wasn’t easy with the unpaved, sandy, rocky roads going up and down hilly terrain. But it was so worth it! The views along the way and from cliffs behind the old Coast Guard station were amazing! There are no touristy shops in the town to the south of the resort. But we would recommend eating at the two restaurants – Sunset Cafe and Triple J Grill. The food was really good and it’s always nice to support the locals.
3) The resort. Our room was air conditioned; the bed was very comfortable and the shower always had hot water. Every morning we watched the sunrise from our balcony. The food and drinks both at the cove and at the Great House were wonderful! They don’t skimp on portions either. Most of our days were spent walking the beach along the gorgeous Caribbean, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing the Hobie Cat and lounging under an umbrella. No crowds, no loud nightlife. Just pure relaxation. Can’t wait until we can go back!

Summary: Sailrock has a very unique location with direct access to waist deep waters. If you want that perfect photo on clear waters with no one around this this the place! The resort and area reminds me of the Maldives. We love the remote destination and the work to get there is well worth it. We have stayed at similar resorts around the world so we will compared Sailrock to other low density luxury resorts.

Our room was upgraded from a 1 bed beach villa to a 3 bedroom beach villa. We were surprised and delighted. Rooms are on point and provided spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. We were celebrating our daughters 3rd birthday and we’re greeted with a nice surprise in the villa pool.

The staff were attentive and very nice. Everyone knows your name. This is similar to other low density luxury resorts and our expectations were met.

The buggy is loud and at times can be slow when multiple guest requires a pickup. We noticed there was only 1. Recommend switching to electric and an additional buggy.

The resort does not have a full spa facility and should adjust prices to reflect that. I did enjoy my deep tissue massage and was very relaxing until the buggy roamed close by and ruined the mood.

Breakfast was standard but could be better with more local or regional varieties.

The dinner menu changes every day and we did enjoy that. Other resorts would normally offer a special dinner event outside their standard menu. Sailrock definitely stood out with their changing dinner menu.

The food quality was inconsistent during our stay. Some nights our dinner looked like amazing art work, other nights not so much. Items would be burnt or overcooked. We learned to just order seafood and very unique dishes as those were consistent but would not say it stood out in comparison to other resorts of similar price points.

Overall food quality inconsistency is where Sailrock falls short. Food prices are in line but quality and consistency needs some work. Sailrock has the potential to compete with the other low density luxury resorts in Turks and Caicos. In terms of value I believe their rooms are priced accordingly and competitively. We would love to return as the resort continues to grow and improve.

We visited Sailrock Resort for our honeymoon. It was a great way to go off the grid and be surrounded by nature and a beautiful beach. The beach is truly breathtaking. Maybe my favorite in all the years I have been going to the Caribbean. The staff was all so nice and wanted to make our stay perfect.

We had an Ocean Ridgetop view room. Great location to get to the beach. The rooms are a bit bare bones. The bathrooms are very nice though. Would have loved to use the outdoor shower but the mosquitoes get bad at night (at least in January).

This is a very remote place and you have to have all of your meals at the hotel really. The breakfast and lunch were great. The dinner menu changes every two days and it seemed to get progressively worse but also more expensive. The portions became smaller (and I am a small eater). It was a disappointment.

The honeymoon package is definitely worth it - breakfast included, couples massage, a dinner, and transportation from Providenciales is included.

The location of Sailrock is simply breathtaking, with warm insanely blue Caribbean waters on one side and the Atlantic on the other. With its remoteness on the South Caicos island (you have to take either a 6 seater or 17 seater plane depending on demand) it feels like it's just you and the natural beauty . Despite it's isolation the food is really awesome, we ate at the resort for every meal and never had so much as a mediocre dish, the local fish and lobster were particularly exceptional.

With that being said, there was definitely a sense of "the left hand not talking to the right hand" at Sailrock. Some of the staff were excellent (shout-outs to Justin, Benjamin and Nidup who went above and beyond paying attention to even the smallest detail), while others were not as much - one of the lunches we had to ask for our drinks multiple times since the bartender was too busy flirting with two women at the bar and very audibly told told our server he would "get to [our] drinks" later. We took the Historic South Caicos tour, which although was very interesting with Francis showing us every detail the town (down to driving into the high school!) the "historic rum tasting" and "amuse-bouche with South Caicos salt" that was advertised was in fact rum punch and the conch salad at the restaurant. This was after having to ask about these details of the tour package once returned to the hotel. Finally, we were awoken at 8:30 am on Saturday morning for some service that we did not request and someone else from the hotel that stopped by shortly thereafter, when asked about this at the front desk they were clueless as to what happened.

If you're looking to get away to an off the grid location with beautiful surroundings this is the place to be. I think that some of these kinks just need to be worked out as the issues I mentioned among others don't necessarily justify the high price of the room cost.

We so enjoyed our trip to Sailrock Resort. Our vacation was everything we hoped for and more! We loved the location - pristine, not crowded, spacious, and quiet with no other hotel in the vicinity. The staff was extremely customer service oriented and always happy!!! We felt like valued guests every moment of every day. There was a great mixture of local Turks Islanders and Expats on the team. Carvison, the Chef at the Great House, personally assisted us in ensuring the restaurant team addressed our food allergies at every meal. It was so great to experience different, lovingly prepared foods without getting sick! And the venues (Cove Bar and the Great House dining room) and varied menu was fabulous! The housekeeping team visited 2-3x a day ensuring we were well cared for. They were extraordinary. The hotel was very clean and sanitized. The rooms were very comfortable. We received a painless covid test at the end of our stay right there at the hotel. So easy! The beaches are beautiful and the toys were free to use (such as kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, hobie cat, beach chairs, and beach towels). There are many places to explore. And the local, harmless wild donkeys were a special treat to watch. All we wanted to do was relax and that is exactly what we got! Really splendid boutique hotel. Highly recommend!!!

We had a blast! Thanks again for everything! This resort is the nicest we have been to and the entire staff proved to be above and beyond 5 stars. We have never experienced staff to have exceptional service and attitude anywhere close to what we experienced in all of our travels! This resort was immaculate in every way from the landscape, rooms, beaches, dining venues, bathrooms, and even their beach toys. Everywhere we turned the employees were working hard with a smile on their faces to ensure everything was perfect in every way. They weren't just putting on a show either. It was obvious everyone there truly enjoyed their job and got ultimate enjoyment of seeing their hard work pay off by their guests having a great time. Everyon was friendly at all times and the food and drinks were timely. No long waits for anything. Even special requests were spot on and not 1 minute late. They were quick to drive us around the resort so we didn't have to walk to dinner or the beach. They were constantly manicuring the grounds at all hours, cleaning the beaches of seaweed early in the morning long before anyone would hit the sand making sure everything was serene. The guys at the cove quickly knew our names and treated us like family. Seriously this place is a hidden gem.

There were a select few at the resort that especially made our trip the best we have ever been on. Jerom, Junior, Earl, the Chefs at the Cove, Francis and Big Mike. You guys made this trip one we will never forget and because of you guys alone we will be back!! Thanks again so very much for all you guys did for us!

We were even contacted multiple times by different individuals to make sure we made it home safely. You just don't get that anywhere else you go. Thanks again for an amazing vacation!

Sincerely, The Browns!

I went to Sailrock on a solo trip to write and to reboot after our horrific year. My ocean view ridge top room was spacious, well appointed and quiet. There was an ample wrap around terrace as well. My room had sweeping views of the Atlantic where the Humpback whales are migrating. The Color scheme was neutral and soothing. My only complaints would be the green water coming out of the bathtub faucet and sagging mattress. That being said, those are very common and easy fixes( most likely copper pipes that need tlc).
The staff couldn’t be nicer even though the service is good, but not exceptional.
They have a wellness menu that features vegan, vegetarian and lowfat cuisine for omnivores. The regular menu changes daily . The food is mostly good. I had some excellent dishes and some dishes that I could have done without.I stayed mainly with the wellness menu so I wouldn’t comeback heavier than I got this past year. Each room comes with Yoga mats alas there are no yoga classes. I imagine that will come soon as this would be a wonderful place for a yoga retreat. The gym looked adequate from afar. I didn’t go. I just looked in. This place is all about the water. It is really and truly the most beautiful water I have ever seen. The beach was perfection and the staff bent over backwards to help out with any and all requests. The property is growing slowly. They are currently adding a marina and I heard rumblings about a golf course sometime in the future. It is not terribly expensive for a resort of this caliber. I would say that they should charge more for the exceptional product and experience that they provide for their guests but don’t want to shoot myself in the foot!

We are avid travelers and nothing has ever compared to our stay at Sailrock Resort in South Caicos. Every detail was perfected. All of the staff were incredibly thoughtful and kind. From the moment you arrive the staff greets you with Blue Ocean cocktails by the beautiful lunch bar on the beach. Francis drives you up the hill, a short distance, where you are met with refreshing mint and rosemary scented towels and then Mervin showed us to our Villa. The options for private pool access and beachfront views is nothing short of paradise. Everything was fresh, modern, and clean. Daily water refills help keep staying hydrated easy and the in-house expresso maker was the cherry on top.

Breakfast and dinner is served in the Great House. Pema was wonderful and remembered little details about our orders and preferences. Putra made us the best mojitos and was such a joy to chat with. All of the food was impeccable and the dinner menu changed to present the freshest island ingredients. You can also conveniently text or call the front desk to order room service and have Mon set up a lovely table in suite. You do also have the option to reserve Francis to drive you into town to have dinner at the Dolphin Grill (get the coconut shrimp, you won’t regret it) or Sunset Grill, both were spectacular!

You can bike, call for a buggy ride, or take a short walk to the cove side of the resort to visit the beach and have lunch. Our boys Kubir and Earl will take great care of you and make you feel at home! You can take the kayaks out, paddle boards, and lessons on the Hobie boat with Ben.

We adventured out with Ben for a fun ATV tour around the island learning about some of the history and ecosystems. The following day he took us kayaking around Jerry Camp where we explored the sandbars, saw sharks, stingrays, and starfish. As someone who’s reluctant of ocean creatures I felt safe and well cared for at all times.

Juni at the fresh market located right next to the fitness center was so sweet and having drink and snack options, sunscreen, aloe, various clothing and souvenirs available throughout the day was incredibly convenient.

Every detail presented by the resort staff was flawless. With so many options for activities and relaxation it’s easy for everyone to get exactly what they need. The resort is private and felt exclusive keeping the beaches and experiences pristine. We would absolutely recommend staying with the Sailrock Resort and plan on returning with family and friends again in the future.
