We stayed three days touring the Whangamata area. The Pipinui motel is a sleek, modern, clean, well maintained and run operation. Barry was a great help on suggestions for the area and making sure our stay was the best possible. Truly a great host and facility

My wife and I were travelling throughout the central and Northeastern part of the North Island. We had intended to stay in Tauranga but were disappointed with the locale (big city) so we headed north along the ocean and came upon Whangamata in the evening. There wasn't much we could see and were tired so we looked online for a...

We stayed one night at this motel during the low season in Whangamata. The location is very quiet, easy walk to the city center, the beach and New World shopping center. The room was nice and clean, separate living room-kitchen and bedroom. The host was very friendly and he gave us a lot of information.

The rooms are OK for the price, but the advertised free WiFi was all but useless in our room. Being told to sit in front of another room and wave my laptop about until I had a signal didn't help. Likewise pointing out that the TV remote didn't work elicited a rant about guests who push the wrong buttons. Turned...

We stayed here a year ago in a one bedroom unit and this time stayed for four nights in the studio unit. The units are still immaculate and spotlessly clean. The studio kitchenette was a really good size compared to other studios in motels I have stayed. The bathroom had a huge shower and again was a great size for...

Very well appointed unit with good space for all, modern style. The lounge, kitchen and dining room are large enough for a family. There is separate large bedroom with comfortable queen size bed, abundant pillows and and electric blanket. Great bathroom, immaculately clean and luxurious. Comfortable for two but the lounge is also a sofa bed so I guess you...

This is a very good place to stay and well supports its price tag. Location is near the water and lends itself to easy walks to stretch those "travellers legs". The fit out of the unit is excellent and no shortcuts have been taken. The bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom very well laid out and well appointed. The kitchenette...

I've stayed in a lot of hotels throughout the country but this motel offers rooms that are better than so many of them. Perfectly located just out of the town centre but within an easy walking distance, and just two minutes from the marina and most beautiful stretch of the coast you'd ever wish to step foot on. Service and...

We stayed here for five nights in December 2012. The motel rooms are absolutely spotless and is a good size for a couple. The kitchenette has everything you need for cooking and there is a good size sofa and TV. Our unit had a separate bedroom which was a good size for us. The bathroom had a good sized shower...

A little bit out of the centre but near the harbour. A good 15/20 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. Of all the motels I've stayed in in NZ on 3 trips this probably has the nicest rooms. Very modern, well thought out room layout, very clean and lovely bathroom. The owner provided helpful recommendations for restaurants and local...
