Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was big and inviting. Nice place to stay with nice gift shop next door and ample takeaway shops for dinner on the main street. Balcony was quite pleasant looking out over river. Got a good nights sleep, especially after our caving experience.

We arrived to the hotel after a long drive to find the reception desk closed and dark. After going off to find lunch and explore the caves, we came back to check in only to find reception empty again. After ringing the bell several times, a woman finally appeared to show us to our room. It was nice enough and...

My friends and I found this to be a good place to stay. The room was large and very comfortable. The drawback is the noise fro the traffic outside at night as trucks head by from Auckland to the south of the North Island. The owner/hostess was excellent, friendly and accommodating. She attended to our needs with care and attention....

We were warmly greeted by Jay the cat before checking in and being escorted to our room. Comfortable dorm like facilities with balcony opening to river was just what we needed for our last night in NZ. Courtyard rooms would hear road traffic noise, riverview room (ours) could hear 2-3 freight trains per day (including night time). Trains are smaller,...

Tidy and clean but a bit shabby. The arm chair was all worn out, limited kitchen/cooking utensils, unusual shower like a hospital. Very basic accomodation, no extras. worst of all the, whole room and door vibrated every time a truck went past which was often! So got little sleep... But what can you do? Theres not much choice in te...

We found this to a good place to stay. The room was very comfortable, however traffic noise was a little bit of an issue on our second night, as trucks headed from Auckland to the south of the North Island. Perhaps a room at the back would not have been as effected as our room, and we might well have...

This place is convenient to the caves, has sparse but clean and spacious rooms and a friendly proprietor. There is a haulage business across the road but overall the room was quiet. Nothing flash, but worth a stop.

Kath was a legend, she had rooms available for us after our terrible experience at Waitomo! The rooms were fantastic - nicely equipped with all the mod cons, and the bed was really comfortable. It was the saving grace of the weekend, having a fantastic place to stay! thanks heaps Kath - great place!

I stayed one night on a business trip. The motel complex is quite new, and my room was well appointed with tea/coffee making facilities in the main room - but no sink unit; water was from the bathroom hand basin. The bed was a king and comfortable. There was free wifi. But I have three complaints - firstly, there was...
