We stayed here with our caravan so can't comment on the dorms/kitchen facilities, but found the host very helpful and accommodating (if a little eccentric!). We felt welcome (including the dog) and the kids enjoyed having Snowdrop the deer in the paddock at the back. The smell from the pigs was a little overpowering at times, but if you can cope with that there's access to a tennis court via the paddock. There's a great DVD selection and TV in the main cabin and also some board games for the kids to enjoy too.

We rocked up later than expected due to traffic, however Dave was the best host. He not only checked us in, but showed us where to park up, the pool, the piglets, the everything - all with a cheerful smile. Thanks for a great night, we will hopefully come again.

Room Tip: We were parked up in our van in the garden - easy for a morning swim before breakfast!

We stayed just for one night but I'd definetely stay again :) Dave, the manager, is the most excentric person I have ever met in my travels, but definetely makes you feel super welcome and he DO NOT STOP the whole day doing things around the hostel. He even offered to drive us in his personal van to the bus stop when it was time to leave. The beds are a little soft but even in the dorms not all of them are bunks, so that's a plus. Other than my friend and I, there was just another girl in the room so it was pretty confortable. There are farm animals everywhere which are adorable to pet and be around! The pool seem pretty nice eventhough we didn't use it because the weather was too cold. The common room is huge with a fire in the middle which makes it super cozy. Be sure to bring your own food because there are no supermarkets around at all. Dave has some stuff for sale but not much. The people there is also very nice, a guy even gave us cereal because we didn't have anything for breakfast! Definetely woudl stay again :)
