We booked the lodge last minute and was given a free upgrade to a beautiful house which was fantastic. We ate there for breakfast and dinner and had two fantastic meals couldn't if asked for a nicer stay wish it could if been longer. Excellent facilities for hiking and fishing and a great location for taupo and tongariro. The staff...

Fishing, hiking, the amazing river all combine to make this lovely lodge a must stop place close to Lake Taupo on one of the world's great rivers. Turangi is quiet but has incredibly friendly people, nice little eateries and the great Creel cafe. Coffee that rates with the best in Oz. The river gets into your bones and stays there....

This lodge is located near some of the most spectacular fly fishing in the world but our so called "villa" was somewhat dated with a very noisy refrigerator. When we checked in, we were excited to learn that our villa was next to the river but there was no view nor could we hear it. The restaurant was quite empty...

We stayed 3-nights in Chalet #10. The cabin is rustic, but as expected in a place known for a fishing lodge. I was somewhat disappointed by the bathroom, but everything was clean and tidy. We were given new towels daily. Amenities included small flat screen TV/radio, refrigerator, hairdryer, tea bags, coffee and plunger, but no hot pot. The heater is...

We stayed with a group of 12 (3 families + grandparents) for two night while 8 of us did the Tongariro crossing. The rooms were fine and all the staff were very pleasant but here's the BUT... the service in the Restaurant was appalling. The waiters and bar staff were very pleasant but the systems in the hotel weren't up...

The lodge is in a lovely location but is totally over priced. The Chalets are no more than average motel standard and with the exception of the host, the restaurant and bar service was average. Similarly, although the food on the main menu was good, it was very expensive relative to even top class restaurants in NZ. there was a...

Treat night on holiday and while it was nice, it wasn't value for money. Our accommodation was a bit tired although very clean. Our 4 course meal was lovely and the lodge setting was tranquil. We like 'nice' and will pay for it. This was the most expensive accom & food package we've ever paid for & it didn't quite...

This little hideaway is set in a beautiful location along the Tongariro River hidden amongst the many native trees on the outskirts of town. You couldn't be more impressed by Andrew who was extremely friendly and helpful and this made the fact that our room wasn't ready acceptable. As per previous reviews, it is quite expensive for the quality of...

We spent 2 weeks in NZ hiking and fishing, and started our vacation with an outstanding 3 night stay at Tongariro a lodge. The outstanding fishing on the property offered sunup to sundown fishing opportunities, while our fishing guide took us to more remote spots offering excellent fishing! The villa we stayed in was huge and spotless and couldn't have...

stayed here recently with friends whilst touring north island. The boys in the group arranged to do a days fly fishing with a guide which worked very well. Good guide and great experience. The lodge itself is very old and the rooms in urgent need of updating. Beautiful grounds and location, but for the price not up to par. Partial...
