stayed here recently with friends whilst touring north island. The boys in the group arranged to do a days fly fishing with a guide which worked very well. Good guide and great experience. The lodge itself is very old and the rooms in urgent need of updating. Beautiful grounds and location, but for the price not up to par. Partial...

We only stayed at Tongariro Lodge for one night but I can honestly say that this was a great place to stay. The cabins were lovely and full of character, they fit into the environment perfectly, and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food in the restaurant was amazing - I had steak and my...

My teenage fishing-mad son announced he wanted to learn fly-fishing and those in the know said that the Tongariro River was the place to do it. A friend recommended Tongariro Lodge and particularly their fantastic fishing guides, Tim and Graeme (now known as 'the legends' according to my son and his friends!). The Lodge is an easy and scenic four...

We had a weekend stay at Tongariro Lodge over the school holidays, with three adults and two boys (11) and (8). The weather was dreadful but we had a terrific couple of days nonetheless. We stayed in three bedroom villa 19. It was spacious, clean and warm. Super lounge area with comfortable seating, log burner and large TV, leading to...

We stayed two nights in the Tongariro Lodge as we were planning to do the 20km Tongario crossing. The lodge set up our transport to and from which worked very efficiently (thanks Brandon) and the hike was very beautiful. The accommodations are small clean villas close to the water. I would really recommend this place if you are keen on...

We checked into the Tongariro Lodge and were please with our room. After a long journey we were too tired to look for a nearby restaurant so we decided to eat at the lodge. To our surprise it was one of the best meals we had in New Zealand...an award winner with both food and service. Too bad we are...
