We spent three nights here: before, after our Tongariro Crossing experience plus a spare night to recover before continuing our tour of the North Island. The motel was easy to find and although it is on a main road, it's quiet. Our accommodation was contemporary, spacious and with a lovely outlook towards the river. The check-in/check-out procedures were fuss-free and...

I came with 4 others to Turangi as a rest stop before attempting the Tongariro Crossing. We arrived late from Auckland, but everything was already ready and we could just relax for the night! The reception was also able to book our Tongariro shuttles ahead of time and charged it to my credit card without any fuss - all we...

Good choice of bed configuration to suit all, helpful staff, all amenities in great condition. Very clean and tidy. We arrived on a lovely warm day but I could see it would be a cosy and warm place in the winter. Good to have a restaurant onsite.

Had an awesome stay 3rd - 5th March. We arrived quite late at night and were happily checked in and at our nice, clean room promptly. Great place to stay for Tongariro crossing as is only 25mins drive to the end carpark where we caught a shuttle from. In the afternoon we had some nibbles and drinks in the lovely grass...

Stayed here one night driving from Auckland. In pleasant rolling countryside outside the town. Serves dinner and breakfast (no buffet). The latter was fine, even though the coffee needed improvement. Spacious room.

We are two couples who stayed two nights in units 20 and 21. The rooms are very basic and rather dated construction and furnishings. There is no AC and no screens on the windows. To have ventilation we had to have blinds open in the bathroom and drapes open in the sitting room / bedroom. Car noise is noticeable but...

Great stuff. Thanks for your comments. We're glad you enjoyed your stay in Turangi. We'll be sure to get that plug looked at and to change those smoke alarm batteries which seem to be going flat faster and faster I reckon.

Our room was clean and well ventilated, and the bed was comfortable. With our windows open we could hear the Tongariro river rushing along nearby. Plus, there's a common covered porch across the front of the building we were in where you can sit out and enjoy the river sounds. There are a restaurant and bar on the property, both...

It's a fishing motel. I got what I expected. A basic room with little by way of amenities and no screens on the windows (which became a problem when we had to choose between having air circulation and being eaten alive. It's just that the staff was unhelpful and uninterested. I have always said that I never met a Kiwi...

Maybe he was having a bad day. Still sorry you didn't enjoy your stay which clearly affected your view of the amenities on offer. We are very proud of the level of service and amenities we have at our Motel & Restaurant and feedback such as this is rarely received so sure, maybe it was just a bad day. "the...
