I love this place, it is a little gem. The hosts, Annalisa and Ruggero, are excellent and always take good care of their guests. The rooms are nicely decorated and have their individual character. The breakfast is always good, mostly on the continental side. I like the fact that there is a space available for guests to sit, relax and have coffee or tea anytime of the day. It is a pity that they no longer run the restaurant in the evenings.
Just got back from a week's stay in Le Thovex in La Thuile. Annalisa and Ruggero are great hosts and very welcoming. Breakfast was tasty, Ruggero dropped us off at the gondola every morning and the rooms were homely and spotlessly clean. There is also a sauna on offer, but we didn't use it. I would definitely recommend Le Thovex.
Fantastic visit in le thovex, very nice people, great breakfast, sauna was lovely ( little wood stove). The nice owners were very hospitable, they took us to the ski station every day, because parking over there was full.
Our 3rd visit to La Thuile, but 1st time in Le Thovex. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us, but not overbearing! Our room was huge, bed very comfortable and furnishings, bed linen themed with the room and changed halfway through as were the towels, room very clean and plenty of storage! free toiletries all lovely too. Cosy ski room with heated boot rack, free shuttle for 6 to the lifts from Ruggero after an all you can eat breakfast, eggs, ham, cheese, freshly made yoghurt (Annalisa) croissants, biscuits, cereals and cake (Annalisa) We enjoyed the sauna a couple of times, which was welcome and relaxing ! Plenty of hot water for showers! Then there is the evening meal cooked by Ruggero..... wow, wow, wow! Best B and B I have ever stayed in and would be delighted to go back!
Just returned from a week skiing in La Thuile. Fantastic B&B. Both Ruggero and Annalisa were great hosts. Accommodation well furnished and wonderfully clean. Lovely location with superb views. Quick and convenient journey to slopes from the host in his mini bus (5min max). Optional evening meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. We would love to return to this lovely little gem of a place.
My husband and I, with our three children, just returned from a five night stay at Le Thovex. We had an amazing holiday. We booked two rooms side-by-side on the ground floor (near the sauna). The rooms were very cozy, well-docorated, and extremely clean - and suited our family perfectly. Annalisa and Ruggero are kind and welcoming. We loved the quiet location of the B&B. I was a bit worried about not being near the ski area but this was a non-issue. Ruggero drove us down each day with the kids. It couldn't have been easier. Breakfast was good and consisted of baked goodies, homemade yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, jams, meat, coffee, juice, cereal - more than enough to keep us going until lunch. We enjoyed two dinners (prepared by Ruggero and offered at a reasonable price) and they were by far our favorite meals of our trip. We look forward to returning to Le Thovex and would not consider staying anywhere else.…
Le Thovex is absolutely as good as it looks - stone built, characteristic wood finished rooms, tastefully furnished with carefully chosen quality local decor by Annalisa. A warm welcome when you arrive and all the help you need to have a great ski week - or MTB & walking in the summer months. The individual spacious warm rooms are perfectly clean, very comfortable bed and spotless modern bathroom with ample hot water. Go for the half-board option as it's worth coming just for the food! Breakfast with cereals, home-made cakes and creamy yoghurt, selection of brioche etc, as well as eggs, ham & cheese if you still need fuel for the pistes! There is an open view over the village to the forested slopes & Monte Bianco, when you are ready Ruggero takes guests down to the lifts in their 9 seater - takes 5 mins and saves all the hassle of parking and walking. A free shuttle bus runs every 30 mins from the lifts and drops you back 50m from Le Thovex - couldn't be easier! There is a small self-serve lounge for when you return for beers etc, as well as teas to refresh. The Finnish sauna is lit on request - sooth those tired muscles! Really special are the 3 course dinners - Ruggero is a master chef, offers a small choice of local antipastas, fresh pastas with local sauces, and main courses e.g. succulent duck, perfectly cooked sliced sirloin steak (tagliata), baked pork shank (stinco), salmon fillet - each with accompaniements. There is a choice of 2 out of 3 of these courses. If you still have room then finish with a super home-made desert by Annalisa! At 20eu for 3 courses this is about 1/2 what it would be in the village - superb quality & tremendous value. Best of all is the traditional Italian family welcome & care - hosts who will do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as can be! We'll be back - again! …
Quaint little chalet / bed and breakfast just outside the main town of La Thuile facing the slopes (5 mins by car). Ruggero and his wife are fantastic hosts with home made breakfasts and very clean, simple and comfortable rooms. There's even a sauna! Fantastic value and highly recommended alternative to the hotels in the town.
My Husband and I had the most wonderful weeks skiing this year, end of march beginning of April, The stay at Le Thovex was the making of our holiday with fantastic hosts Ruggiero and Analisa whom both made us welcome from greeting us when we arrived and were shown to our lovely welcoming room (Brebis Room) to getting the sauna ready for us on our return from a full days skiing and you were given a dressing gown, hat LoL some crocs and a towel very well organised. Ruggiero did the cooking and his food was some of the best I have tasted, all home made as was the breakfast home made sweet pies and cake, yoghurt and bread rolls bread rolls just lovely. In the mornings Ruggiero would take us to the ski lifts in his mini bus and we would catch the free shuttle back to the Le Thovex .
We went with friends who had been before many times- a recommendation in itself. Everything was wonderful and great value. The menu offered plenty of choice with an excellent choice of wines from the region. Ruggiero and Analisa are the perfect hosts.
