We stayed at the The Gamekeepers Cottage, an 1870's restored 2 bed place, with the feeling of a small hunting lodge. We had to come down to Featherston for just a night and booked into The Mew on the Longwood estate. The whole place is enchanting and typical of something you would find in England, not NZ. Our accommodation was restored stables and so comfortable and clean. I would recommend to anyone wanting something a bit special to escape to. We...

We chose this place as we were in town for a wedding and dont really like B&B's (which seem to be the main choice in the area). Longwood is a perfect alternative, with a quiet cottage complex set around a central courtyard away from the main house. We stayed in the Stables for one night. Margeurite was very welcoming but...
