Loved my night at The Country House. Very rustic settling, with the obligatory sheep, great gardens, lovely brekky and David is a gorgeous host. Highly recommended. There's a pool for the warmer months, and lovely gardens to wander around in.

The gardeners Retreat is a lovely cottage. When we arrived it had just been upgraded by a new bedroom on the loft together with a new bathroom. We were offers a bottle of wine on our arrived and David gave us a lot of information about the surroundings and the celebration of 175 year remeberance of the first Frenchman arriving...

Apart from a few cobwebs in the two bathrooms and a squeaky floor in the loft, this was clean and comfortable. Pool was lovely. Downside was all the overgrown plants all round the cottage and we had to go to the owner's house to get Wifi.

We booked for one night for the first bit of our honeymoon and ended up staying for two. We stayed in the Gate House cottage and had the place to ourselves. It was clean (one of my highest priorities) and had a laundry facility. The owners are kind and helpful and breakfast was delicious. We cant recommend Akaroa Country house...

Great location for our first anniversary weekend. Stayed in the French Hut, and enjoyed the outdoor bath, closely situated to the stream. Lovely, clean, cosy and warm - the hut was a secluded retreat. Would highly recommend.

Myself, my wife and our 3 year old daughter had a lovely stay at The Akoroa Country House on New Year's Eve. We spent 2 nights in The Gatehouse, self catering. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the showers powerful and the whole place was beautifully decorated throughout. It was quiet, peaceful and just a short drive from the...

Lovely secluded B&B that's close to Akaroa. Would recommend either of the options (gatehouse or gardeners retreat). Very quiet with no traffic noise at all. Was really nice to be woken up by the smell of freshly baked croissants for breakfast! Would definitely go again next year!

A wonderful peaceful relaxing spot!!! The French hut was to a good standard and very clean. Even better was its surroundings, lovely stream, surrounded by bush, no traffic noise just the birds, the hot bath down by the stream was a bonus making this a very romantic retreat with total privacy. The hosts were very welcoming and provided a lovely...

A very peaceful spot - yet only 5 minutes drive from Akaroa town. No danger of being awoken by noisy revellers here! One of the rooms The French Hut (a double room) is tucked away down the garden path across a couple of bridges and sits under the trees beside a stream. As well as the indoor bathroom, it boasts...
