We had a wonderful stay. Joe, the Inn keeper, is kind and attentive. Our room was clean and quiet. The Inn is close to many places you will need including grocery, restaurants and shops. We booked last minute, and we'd stay there again.
Closest to the Key to Bala. Rustic accommodation for just $100 a night on a long weekend. The owner was friendly. He's in bed by 11am. You get what you pay for. Nowhere near water. Better than paying $400 a night at the Quality Inn Bracebridge!
Cabin style rooms were a bit dated but very clean. Beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious. Lots of hot water, and fridge in the room. Outdoor fire pit was a bonus and provided a warm evening addition for family gatherings. Joe and his wife were very accommodating and friendly. They really helped to turn a sad reason for being in Bala into a great family bonding time. We all look forward to coming back! Thank you Joe!
Real nice motel out in the middle of Muskoka very inviting clean and cozy real great gas couldn't ask for better gas and better host and hostess karma and Joe were excellent and answered all my questions and help me with directions for the sites and locations where I can go visit I will be back again fantastic visiting Muskoka with deadly end great place to stay great value thank you Joe and Herma
Rustic and cottagey. Stayed in room # 3 to attend a concert at The Kee. Joe, the owner, was super and went out of his way to make our stay a pleasure. Room was clean, bed was excellent, lots of hot water. Will definitely will be back.
We stayed at Dudley's for one night to see a concert in Bala. It is about a 5-minute drive north of town. Owner/staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite spacious, and have satellite TV, clean linens and towels, and adequate hot water and pressure. The place is quite dated, has a slight musty odour to it, and could use a little better housekeeping. Overall not a bad little spot for a one-nighter.
Rustic cabin-style rooms were clean. Beds quite comfortable. Shower had lots of hot water and good pressure. Small fridge in the unit. Joe the owner was super nice and very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again. Transportation to the Kee to Bala can be a bit of an issue. We found the two local cab companies don't answer their phones: you have to leave a message. We ended up driving into town for the concert and leaving our car there. We were fortunate to find a cab back. (Others staying at Dudley's walked the 3K there and back.) In the morning, Joe kindly offered to drive us back to the Kee to get our car. One of the local cab companies advertises a large van that you can book in advance. If you are a large enough group that might be worthwhile looking into. Also note: Dudley's is on the corner of Dudley St. and Hwy #169 just 3KM north of Bala. DO NOT follow goggle maps to get there as it is way off!…
I stayed here for a week for work and what a great experiance. The owners were very hospitable and treated you like you were family. I would definitley stay here again. Rooms were clean, and absolutley no complaints
I enjoyed staying at Dudley's. The owner and his wife was vary helpful even found us a ride so we could leave the car in their parking lot. The fire pit out front was not expected but this made the stay in Bala one of the best times I have had at an Inn or motel. The room and bedding was clean. I don't know if all the rooms have air conditioners, refrigerators and eating tables but our did. We were able to save some money by eating at the fire pit and in our room. The cost of the room was vary fair not the cheapest in Muskoka but well worth it. It was not as expensive as some in the area. If you are looking for a new cookie cutter style motel chain don't stay there but if you want a real Authentic Muskoka log Inn to remember I would recommend Dudley's.
My friend and I drove up to Bala for a concert early September and decided to stay here based on price alone. Unfortunately they weren't as close to the Kee as we were hoping. It was a decent size room and had all the necessities and even beyond with the fridge, coffee machine, tv , and full table. However we paid for two people.. And there were definitely three of us in that room. Yes I'm talking about a spirit and no I wasn't drunk. Nor was I the only one who saw it. I'm really curious to see if anyone else has had this experience in room #5 at dudleys. I mentioned this to the owner briefly and he just chuckles and told me he's never heard that before! All in all it was quite the experience. Very intrigued to go back. Bala is gorgeous!
