The Deux Rivières Resort is a large property located on the St-Lawrence Gulf shore that includes a hotel, cottages and a conference center. This complex is at 10 minutes’ drive by car from downtown Tracadie-Sheila. There is not commercial activity, no restaurant or shops, at a walking distance around the hotel. This is a remote site, very calm and peaceful. The property This complex is a large site on which we find the hotel, the conference center and cottages, spread around the property. The site is not wooded and therefor offers a view on the water from almost all points. A small sinuous paved road connects all the buildings. Parking is free. During my stay, there were not many clients. So the environment and the site were peaceful and quiet (to be validated in high season). The room My room was large. A big desk offers a large work surface and comes with a very comfortable wheeled desk chair. However, no power outlet was available nearby. No plugs were available near any of the two nightstand located on each side of the bed. The room is clean despite the carpet is showing signs of aging. The room is well equipped with a Keurig capsule coffee machine, an ironing board with its iron and a small fridge. There is no micro-wave oven available in the room. The closet doesn’t have a door and is large enough. However, I would have liked more than three hangers to hang my clothes. The bed mattress is fine, no more, a bit soft and giving in a little. My sleep quality was satisfactory, but I have slept on better mattresses. The heating system works with a warm air principle, in a way that there is continuously air circulation in the room. The bath room The bathroom is large and clean. A large counter on each side of the sink provides a lot of space. A large mirror covers one of the walls. The shower is in a bath. Basic bathing products are provided. However, I have noted damages on the wall around the bath frame, which testify a little lack in maintenance. In the shower, there is only a hand shower and the water pressure was mostly low. Also, the shower curtain was not waterproof, so water could pass through and end up on the floor. Services A basic breakfast, cold, buffet style, is offered to client, without additional cost with the room price. No hot meal is available, beside toast that one can prepare by oneself. The products are fresh, but the choice is limited. There is no other restauration offered on site. Snacks and beverages are sold at the hotel reception desk. Internet access (Wi-Fi) is free and excellent. The hotel reception desk is not open 24 hours a day and closes at 8 pm. If you are planning your arrival at the hotel after this time, you should make arrangements before that time, of when doing the reservation, to pick-up your room key. The hotel has a small gym, with only two treadmills, and was closed during my stay. I didn’t ask why the access was not possible. The road which connects all the buildings on the site is a perfect course for a short distance run. There is no pool on site. My own two cents According to my personnel travelling experience in this region, the Deux Rivières Resort offers the best rooms in the Acadian Peninsula. For a holiday escapade or a short business travel stay, I recommend this hotel. The room decoration is from another decade, but all is clean and relatively well maintained. Although this destination is a little remote from commercial activity, the fact that a breakfast is offered on site compensate for that inconvenience. The managers of this complex should start thinking about renewing the mattresses before the situation continues to deteriorate more. The devil is in the details: - Damaged walls in the bath room. - Mediocre mattress. Pros - Quiet site on water shore. - Large room and large bathroom. Cons - Reception desk opening hours. - No power plugs accessible on the work desk.

Awesome place! The room and the bathroom were sparkled cleaned although not having the room carpeted would make it even more appealing. The area is quiet and surrounded by nature. The staff is professional and nice. It is an oasis of peace and contentment after a full day. The price is good and really affordable. A continental breakfast is served. I highly recommend.

Large, clean rooms, very comfortable mattress. Continental breakfast included, served in a bright room overlooking the water. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Close to start of velo route, as we were there to cycle. Pool very refreshing at end of day

The location of this property at the end of a peninsula ensures lots of beautiful views of the river and the barrier islands beyond it. We reserved a carpet-free room in the hotel for an overnight stay. It was a nice room with a comfortable bed. It even came with a continental breakfast served in a sunny room overlooking the river. I would highly recommend reserving a cottage for several nights to really appreciate this establishment. They are cozy and have pretty well everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. This would be a dream location for a conference!

Received an e-mail thanking us for using their cottage. We informed them that we will “NOT” be returning. We informed them that the cottage smelled cigarette smoke and we were told that the cleaning lady usually lets them know and they charge the person more that was using it before us. Asked for another place and it was not possible. The smell was still there after the spraying and there was this huge ashtray next to the door so we moved it to the other end of the patio also there was also a bunch of used metal flares. We had a child with us and not impressed that those things were not picked up. I took some paper towels and picked up 18 cigarette buts right in from of the patio rail. WOW!!! The oven door in cottage # 27 has a door that you have to fight with to close and a fan that needs to be replaced. We opened windows and then we had to go outside to close one of them. The air conditioning sounds like a jet landing and takes for ever to shut off. It need to updated for sure!! The sofa needs replacing as we had to put cushions behind and under us to be comfortable. The Bathroom and bedrooms were fine but thats it!! For what we were charged for the cottage, is over priced for what we received. We will not refer anyone to that establishment. Certainly not a “Resort”.

Continental breakfast was listed as included on their website, in the confirmation email, and on Expedia but they no longer offer it due to Covid. Not offering the breakfast because of Covid is acceptable but refusing to update their information accordingly after a year is not. Tissues and toilet paper are the lowest of the low quality, even in the Executive King Suite. Staff made no effort to advise us of the Covid restrictions and unavailability of the amenities (no house keeping, no breakfast). Management made no effort to apologize or make up for their low quality and lack of advertised amenities.

Could not get over here because of the pandemic. The hotel charged my credit card for 2 nights anyway. I called and they would not reverse it. Had to call my RBC to get them to reverse the charges. This was totally unacceptable!! With this pandemic you would think that people would not try to take advantage of people in these times!

I was assigned here on conference several years ago, and so pleasantly surprised. It's stuck with my memory that we just had to come back for a vacation. Beautifully kept cottages on a point. Quiet and modern property. Pool out of service due to covid-19. Could almost walk, and definitely bicycle to town. Lots to explore in the area. The only downfall is the terrible cell service out on the point in the cottages.

The rooms & grounds remind me of Caribbean resorts. Lovely, large, and spacious, this is a great location for an extended stay. Lots of room to run & play, directly on the ocean, with spa and lots of amenities. The grounds & rooms are gorgeous! The one weakness is the lack of restaurants on site. We had to drive into town for meals, so we couldn't sit back & enjoy a few drinks. The resort would really benefit from an oceanfront resto-pub. I'm not sure what the castle next door is all about, but the resort would benefit from developing that site into something interesting. Tracadie-Sheila could end up as a great tourist destination with a little bit of work on this site.

I travel the northern part of New Brunswick multiple times every month and stay at this resort at least once or twice per month. The cabins are always clean, and the beds comfortable. My only complaint is with the beds' pillows, as I've found them 'lumpy'. As mentioned, travelling and 'eating out' gets old. Luckily, every cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to whip up a home cooked meal. Did I mention every cabin has its own couch, lounge chair and rocker/glider? Awesome! The cabins are also equipped with a heat pump and propane stove in the kitchen/dining/living room, and baseboard heaters in the bathroom and bedrooms. Though, during a stay last winter on a particularly cold night, I found the main room quite cool, as the heat pump couldn't keep up. Luckily, I always pack my ultra-sexy one-piece zip-up pijama. Conversely, I stayed again last night on what was the hottest day/night so far this year and was very comfortable with the air conditioning. During multiple stays, with the price I pay, I'd expect someone to refresh the sheets, empty the garbage or even refresh the 4 Kurig k-cups...but none of that is available. Each additional k-cup will cost you $2.00, even on a multi-night stay. Take care to pack garbage in multiple bags to keep the smell down if you're there over a few days. My last comment has to do with aforrmentionned price. During the slow season, with the business rate I'm allowed, the price is literally only a few dollars more than a stay at a nearby city's hotel room...and I have a full cabin to myself to cook a great meal in; great! Though, with this special rate, I'm not allowed a waterfront cabin; not that big a deal. But, as I've recently found, their 'high season' prices jump over $50.00, and no special rates apply. For that reason, unfortunately, I've had to make other arrangements. All in all, I adore staying at this location and highly recommend it. The cabin, the privacy, the opportunity to have a meal...did I mention the rocking chair?
