Booked in advance for a friends birthday in town, parked in the car park at rear, was greeted very politely and helpfully by a young lady called Vicenza, who explained a few things about the hotel, the room (14) was actually just fine for the price £75 with breakfast compared to the priory which was the same money and the...

Good location near the town centre. But this is one of those hotels that feels like it hasn't seen a new carpet, new beds, furniture or a lick of paint since the 80's. Needs gutting back to the walls and modernising. Wifi worked. The breakfast was floating in a pool of tomato beans sauce. Please put it in a separate...

I loved staying here while I was on business in the area. It's a prime example of a good family run hotel with a warm welcome, comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Conveniently situated for Hitchin town centre and next door to an award winning real ale pub. I was in heaven.

On the whole, this hotel is clean and adequate. Making it suitable for short stays, but there are a few key areas that need to be improved in order to take this to the next level. I appreciate that the building is 300years old, however this fact does not help when you can hear every footstep, conversation and television within...

I stayed for 3 nights and found the staff courteous and friendly considering the confusion ( on my company's part) over bookings. Breakfast was good, and ample. I think you need to specify bath or shower as the rooms differ in this regard. I'd be happy to go back. There's also a good pub next door which helps. A clean...

Easy to find and centrally located. Has a small car park, probably big enough for the size of the B&B. We only stayed one night. Some of the staff didn't seem very friendly, although the receptionist working on Sunday was very nice and helpful. The Room was nice and complementary water was left for us, which was most welcome given...

Had heard varying reports of this hotel but was only room available in Hitchin so booked and was pleasantly surprised . Twin room comfortable, bathroom squeezed in but everything worked. Good breakfast and very hospitable management. These days too many people. Complain about the slightest problem and have too great an expectation. But for the money £70 for 2 twin...

We checked in at the Lord Lister after a wonderful day and was greeted with a congratulations from a very welcoming manager. She really made us feel at ease leading us out to a beautiful flower garden for us to relax for the latter of our evening. The room itself was stunning, amazing four poster bed, a beautiful bathroom with...

I stayed here for one night during March 2016 due to my usual hotel being fully booked. I made a telephone booking as the website wasn't working. The person I spoke to on the telephone was quite vague, took ages to take my details despite me spelling each letter phonetically so already I was feeling unsure. I paid £70 b&b....

Thank you for your comments I am sorry that you found it difficult to park in our car park, and that you found the room not to your standard but as I explained it was the last room we had left as the hotel that you normally use had over booked and asked to help them out. But I will...
