Great Accommodation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Tierra Viva. Patti and her husband were great hosts who were very welcoming and intent on making our stay comfortable. The room was very clean and comfortable with 2 great beds and pillows. The air conditioning was a great asset. We were pleased to have access to a full sized firdge and a fully equipped kitchen and fresh coffee each morning. This little gem is only 100 metres from the beach and a short walk to restaurants, and stores for groceries etc and very close to a great bakery! We would definitely stay there again. Mazunte is a great place to chill and have a relaxing beach holiday with a great variety of restaurants and good food! We would choose one of the 5 or 6 different beach restaurants each day, and order drinks and breakfast or lunch right on the beach. No need to rents chairs or umbrellas. Now that is what I call a holiday. The boat tour to see whales and dolphins and turtles was definitely worthwhile but be sure to apply lots of sunscreen.

Nice small hotel in Mazunte, close to the Rinconcito beach, easy to reach and pretty silent to be in the center of the village. very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well kept, free coffee and water. A bit expensive but it seems that everything is pretty expensive here in Mazunte compared to the rest of Mexico. Anyway I enjoyed staying here

My girlfriend and I stayed in this place for 5 nights. Our bungalow was quite big and very cosy with nice decoration. It has a table with chairs, a kitchen with all the equipment for cooking, and a small balcony with a hammock. The room is very clean and is very centrally located: about 5 minutes walking from the beach, which is calm and beautiful, and also close to the main street. You can walk to Punta Cometa and see the most beautiful sunsets there. Unfortunately it was not the turtle season, so we could only visit the turtle centre. The owners were super friendly and helpful by giving us directions, advising us on nice restaurants, etc.
The village is quite small and tourism is not very much developed, but that was why we loved it so much. It really was the highlight of our trip to Mexico!!

We loved staying here. The location is perfect - two blocks from the beach. It is close to EVERYTHING and if there is something you can't find, the owners live on-site and are very accommodating (they even bought us flan:)
Our room was large and with a well-equipped kitchenette. The bed is comfortable. The hosts are fantastic people and I have no hesitancy in recommending this site.

NOTHING. They are basically scammers. They advertise that the rooms have a private kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, etc., but when you get there, you have nothing of what was promised. It is a room with beds and a bathroom only. The entire kitchen area is outside the room, shared with all the rooms and on the ground floor.
The worst of all is that when I arrived and saw that the room did not have anything of what was advertised, in common agreement with the managers of the place, we decided to cancel the reservation and I went to another place. However, it is to this day that they refuse to refund me what I paid. Even though they rented the room for a second time to other people during the same dates that I should have been there.

The Casa Mazunte Tierra Viva is a work in progress, meaning they are in process of building a restaurant, pool, lounging area and adding some character. However, it is already a very nice place to stay. Our room was large, clean with a very large window that kept the room bright (but not hot thanks to the shade). Very quite property and air-conditioning available if needed.
This is one of the best situated hotels in Mazunte. It is located just off the main road that takes you to Playa Rinconito. The beach, the best restaurants, and the road to Punta Cometa are all a few steps away. The communal kitchen was also a nice perk and good opportunity to meet other friendly travelers.
Staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again and look forward to the additions.

Patti and her spouse were great hosts who were very responsive to any issues that came up during our stay and went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. They were also very helpful in orienting us to what to do and where to eat. The room was comfortable with a great bed and pillows and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped with the essential necessities including a blender for smoothies etc. Their place is very conveniently located to beach, restaurants, and stores for groceries etc and very close to a great bakery! Would definitely stay their again. Mazunte is a great place to chill and have a relaxing beach holiday with a great variety of restaurants and good food!

Patty and Arturo were very welcoming, helpful and speak very good English. We were impressed by her interest in our opinions on ways they might improve things. The room is quite large with a kitchen, table, bed and two additional seating/sleeping areas. The kitchen is well stocked and includes a coffee maker and blender. They also provide kitchen basics such as salt, coffee, oil, and sugar. Small terrace out back has no view but does have a hammock shaded by trees. Good wifi, and the recycling system, free purified water and hose to clean sand off your feet were nice touches. No A/C but cement building stays reasonably cool and with fans and screened windows/patio door you can get a cross-breeze. We didn’t find it hot at all.
Only a couple blocks off the best section of beach and beside the main tourist road (Rinconcito) with restaurants, etc. Downside is a bit of noise from a nearby bar, although they are supposed to shut down by midnight and Patty was talking about putting glass in the windows (they are just screens and shutters right now) in the front to help block the sound. We use ear plugs and slept fine.
Enjoyed a dolphin/whale/turtle trip for 200 pesos and loved the hike out to the Punta Cometa viewpoint and Playa Mermejita.

This is our second time to Mazunte in a few months and our first at tierra viva. The location is terrific, a two minute walk to the beach. Our apartment was well stock and had all we needed, the room is cool during the day and night, with the breaze that runs through the house and the two ceiling fans you do not need airconditioning.
Arturo, the owner is really friendly and always happy to help you out with options for activities etc. there is also an info book in the room.
We will definitely be back
