We had very good experience at the bealey hotel. It is situated at beautifull location. Warmly welcomed and then had a meal. It was yummy homemade sausage and steak pie, me and my partner loved it and nice service by the staff especially the indian boy who served us with his beautifull smile. I would love to recommend to go... More

feeling misled. Expected a mt lodge for the price$135 for 1, plus $60 to get pickup to/from train sta. Expected a fireplace, comfy chairs. I rate this place 1 star for all the stains in my room. I didn't want to even put suitcase on the chair (see pics)! Shower curtain moldy. Slept in my own sleeping bag. Feet did... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us. It is always helpful if you have any complaints to talk to the Manager on Duty to give everyone a chance to solve any problems. Complaining in the Village to unrelated staff in the Visitor Centre and later on Tripadvisor doesn't help to make your stay more enjoyable. The Staff in the... More

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to maximise the walking we could do around Arthur's Pass. This hotel is located approximately 13 kilometres from Arthur's Pass village and 4 kilometres from the start of the Bealey Spur track. We stayed in a small budget room which had a double bed, bunk bed and shared facilities (including a... More

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Castle Hill. We had a sinking feeling when we were walking up the stairs and there was no one around. There was a man prepping food, he didn't even realise we were there until we called out to him. We had two sausage rolls, they were huge but were dry and... More

A surprise weekend for my partner, we got the train up to Arthurs Pass from Christchurch, wicked views. We arranged a pick up from the train station by the friendly owner of The Bealey Hotel who dropped us to the front door of Room 1 which was a great cottage with the best views! Organized a horse trek over on... More

We stayed for 1 night in a 2 bedroom cabin, great view over the river bed where our 3 boys (8, 10 & 13) had fun getting wet & throwing rocks. We ate at the hotel (not really other options anyway) & got good wholesome pub style food with friendly service. The new chef even managed to entice our food... More

This place gets a 10 for scenery, but the pub is tired and needs a good upgrade. Our booking was for a group of 50 people for lunch and being a car club we all arrived together. On arrival there was only one person on the bar, so getting a drink was painfully slow. We ordered ginger beer, they only... More

Food was basic, but okay, however nothing like the gourmet meals advertised on the website. Rooms had great views, but decor was very dated. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had fairly limited facilities.

A great location, but the standard of rooms for the price is very poor. Badly needs an upgrade to bring it up to the $150 that we were charged for the night standard. With a good quality spruce up, this place would be fantastic. Meal was ok.

Called in for a quick coffee, not expecting much in such a remote location, but equal to anything in Wellington! (and better than the Arthurs Pass cafes). And a tasty gourmet pie as well. Lovely views over the Waimakariri River and mountains. Definitely worth a stop.
