We went to the hotel for dinner saying nearby. The location on Bealey spur is breathtaking. The restaurant itself is a quaint if a little tiered looking. The real disappointment was the food. Dinner cost over $120 for 4 people without drinks or starters. The food was nothing special. The venison pot pie was tasty but with too much pastry....

We only spent a night there, thankfully. The rooms seem to have been a bit updated, but still, the bathrooms are old. What bothered me the most was the fact that there were flies everywhere. I guess the nets on the windows have holes in them, so we ended up with flies everywhere, including a dead one in the sheets....

The weather was against us for our weekend stay here - driving rain mostly. But we did some walks and were glad to return to the cosy chalet to dry out. Even when the power was off one morning, (not hotel's fault), there was still plenty of hot water in the tank. Not everyone has such a good experience judging...

Booked through a rival booking app which offered a room with a shared bathroom. Except it was in a lodge type dorm with loud, swearing individuals in the common area with paper thin walls and tiny beds. Be upfront with your description of the room, because I wouldn't have booked this had I been aware of the real situation. Couldn't...

Stayed one night in room #1. Paid $150 NZ for the night. Spectacular views of the glacial river bed from the large end unit room. 3 single beds and one double. Kitchen with microwave, fridge, water boiler but no cook top. Double bed was very soft. Too soft. Good water pressure and adequate hot water. Small balcony outside of room....

We had very good experience at the bealey hotel. It is situated at beautifull location. Warmly welcomed and then had a meal. It was yummy homemade sausage and steak pie, me and my partner loved it and nice service by the staff especially the indian boy who served us with his beautifull smile. I would love to recommend to go...

feeling misled. Expected a mt lodge for the price$135 for 1, plus $60 to get pickup to/from train sta. Expected a fireplace, comfy chairs. I rate this place 1 star for all the stains in my room. I didn't want to even put suitcase on the chair (see pics)! Shower curtain moldy. Slept in my own sleeping bag. Feet did...

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us. It is always helpful if you have any complaints to talk to the Manager on Duty to give everyone a chance to solve any problems. Complaining in the Village to unrelated staff in the Visitor Centre and later on Tripadvisor doesn't help to make your stay more enjoyable. The Staff in the...

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to maximise the walking we could do around Arthur's Pass. This hotel is located approximately 13 kilometres from Arthur's Pass village and 4 kilometres from the start of the Bealey Spur track. We stayed in a small budget room which had a double bed, bunk bed and shared facilities (including a...

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Castle Hill. We had a sinking feeling when we were walking up the stairs and there was no one around. There was a man prepping food, he didn't even realise we were there until we called out to him. We had two sausage rolls, they were huge but were dry and...

A surprise weekend for my partner, we got the train up to Arthurs Pass from Christchurch, wicked views. We arranged a pick up from the train station by the friendly owner of The Bealey Hotel who dropped us to the front door of Room 1 which was a great cottage with the best views! Organized a horse trek over on...
