Very conveniently located to Chatsworth House (on the estate). The staff were super lovely and accommodating, especially the front desk. The room we stayed in was a handicapped room, which meant a huge bathroom !! The decor was tasteful and quaint . But the building, like many i

Many thanks for your comments and for staying at the Cavendish, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry you were not so keen on the food, I have to say that we are receiving a number of positive comments about our new Chef Adam Harper, so was a little surprised that you appear unimpressed - any detailed feedback you may wish to give would be most be useful. I hope we can welcome you back to the Cavendish on a future occasion. Kind Regards Philip Joseph

Had an excellent lunch with very good service. All choosing something different.
The food was delicious on a bitterly cold day. We ate in the Bistro.
We spent 5 hours in total and we’re well looked after in the cosy sitting room.

We went to the cavendish as a treat for one of our friends that was visiting home from America. As the building its self was beautiful and the inside decor came across as very...."posh" the expectations were pretty high. We pre order the afternoon tea which got served by a lovely

Dear Far Away Thank you for the feedback, which I was disappointed to receive. Everything we present for the afternoon tea is made on the premises, certainly not 'shop bought' and I would hope not stale - I will of course follow that observation up with my Chef. Pleased to learn that the member of staff was attentive, I will have a word about the accent! Kind regards Philip Joseph

Had an overnight stay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our 4-poster room was beautiful with lovely views on 2 sides - the bed was really comfy - great bathroom with bath robes and nice toiletries. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and polite.

We are travelling by train from London to Sheffield and by bus from Sheffield to Chatsworth. So we will be on foot. Since we are staying at the hotel Friday and Saturday, is there a place to leave our overnight bags while we tour the grounds on Friday? And should tickets for Chatsworth be purchased in advance for a June 1 tour? Thank you. Sue
The Hotel offered to look after our bags when we arrived on the Friday. Unsure about tickets, but ours were purchased in advance. There was quite a queue when we arrived on Friday lunchtime for those without tickets.

"Room 25 for handicapped, but noisy from upstairs and near door to building"
"Main house, overlooking the hills and Chatsworth"
"Nice rooms in the mainhouse on the groundfloor, with splendid views!"
"Coach house very good but it does involve braving the elements to get to the main building. With gales and rain this isn't very good"
"All rooms overlook the grounds. Pamper yourself and enjoy a 'superior' room."
