The staff we first met Sofia and stevros are so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay we were made to feel at home they went above and beyond with their hospitality.
Obviously with covid 19 it's a uncertain time for everyone I felt the guidelines in place here were impeccable very sanitary, masks sanitiser etc the rooms are beautiful air conditioning on point and the roof top hot tub amazing to watch the sun go down, only a short walk to the beach where there are lots of restaurants to enjoy we haven't had a bad meal yet, tamarix del mar helped us organise anything we needed no hassle, heartbreaking to know that a small island like this relies on tourism to survive... I really hope tamarix del mar and kamari come through this uncertain time stronger than ever... Definelty a place to visit and stay and hope I can return in the future xxx
We arrived late evening at this hotel around 830pm
We was collected buy a taxi organised buy the the hotel which was so convenient the hotel contacted us and offered to have this arranged which was a massive bonus the taxi man was very helpful as we was travelling with a 18mnt old child he helped with our bags and pushchair when we arrived the lady had even gone out off her way to stock our fridge with cows milk for our baby!!!
My son immediately found the control to the air conditioning and turned it up to 32 and some how locked the control due to corona the staff are unable to enter the rooms while you are in the room the lady was so helpful we managed to workout how to unlock the control yet again not a single complaint from staff .
Due to corona you have to chose your breakfast on a very generous menu the night before then as you arrive to eat your food is cooked fresh for you and it’s all homemade the best food we ate while staying on Santorini eggs Fried scrambled boiled you name it olives bread cheese meats cereal yogurt croissant omelette fresh fruit the list is endless they even have a special request box at the bottom and they literally will do anything to help you .
They helped organise my hair and make up appointment as I had a wedding to attend and also help my husband and the wedding party get 8 suits pressed and delivered OVERNIGHT I kid you not .
The staff had booked us a number of taxis and even happy for you to ring them at night to organise a return taxi
The staff at tamarix go above and beyond there roles for customer's
We had a late check out and they also organised our taxi back to the airport .
Would recommend this hotel for clean rooms good location and excellent staff
It is also a 3 min walk to Kamari beach with shops and restaurants near by.
The hotel is beautiful and itself offers spectacular views to the Ancient Thira. The rooms are overlooking the pool and bar area.
Exceptionally clean. The hosts care is outstanding. Everyone in their team has a kind word or a smile to spare. Nothing is an issue, positive reply to any enquiry offering a solution. Eg we arrived with a 14 months old baby at 10pm and asked for a ground floor accommodation only on arrival. Although a first floor suite was prepared for us Sofia kindly switched us to a ground floor suite bringing along a baby cot immediately.
I have no hesitation to give my best recommendation. At our next visit we would like to return too.
Arrived about 9pm quite and we were taken to the small outside bar and given a welcome drink of our choice. Checked in quickly when we were ready.
The room/suite was immaculate. It had an outside seeting area and large inside lunge area. Thick large white fluffy towels and fresh white, quality bed linen. Toiletries, 2 large bottles of water, crockery and glasses and a good, cold, full sized fridge. Every day all the bed linen and towels were changed and any questions were always answered promptly. Pool towels were available all day every day.
There were a relatively small set of suites so it was lovely and peaceful and you really did get personal service. The breakfast selection was brilliant. Fruit, yoghurt, cakes, breads, savouries, cheese, ham etc a range of cooked breakfast choices every day and omlettes to order (which were superb) . Fresh ground coffee and a variety of teas and juices. Could not ask for more. Breakfast was also available until 11am if you needed a lie in or a dip in the pool first.
Only criticism was that because I visited with my adult son, we requested a twin room as opposed to a double . As a result the beds were extremely hard even painful to my shoulder and hips, as the double mattress top had been removed. It was put back on after we checked out but as a result the beds were like boards.
We hired a car from the rental place next door which were very helpful and reasonably priced. In 2 days we visited almostb all of the island and had a wonderful holiday. Lots of local excellent restaurants. Ask at reception. I would most definitely recommend these suites. After check out we had full access to a shower and all the facilities.
In fact I will say this about ALL staff at this hotel, they are ALL lovely to chat to and are friendly..
We were shown to pur room and we were lucky to be upgraded with a room that had a hot tub on the balcony. The hot tub was amazing!!!!
Parking is free, but out on the street, a 1 min walk away. The hotel does not have any specific parking on the front.
Breakfast was as plentiful and if you want fresh eggs cooked it was no trouble for this to be done.
The grounds of the hotel were spotless, inviting and comfortable. The sun beds had soft cushions on them.
Towels were available in a little basket by the pool bar, just help yourself.
Our room itself had a huge Queen size bed, and above was a messimeine with 2 single beds, which we did not need as only 2 of us.
There is a small kitchen area, with a hob, sink and fridge, kettle and plates, glasses and cups & cutlery.
There is a sofa and flat screen tv. Plenty of plug sockets dotted around the room.
There was a small balcony with table and 2 chairs.
The balconies in some appts were larger than ours, but it was fine for our needs.
We did not see or go to any inside pool/spa area so cannot comment on this.
There are 2 supermarkets to the left as you come out the hotel, one was 24 hour.
The beach area is a 3-4 min walk away, where there are bars and restaurants all the way along the beach coast of at least 2km.
The outdoot pool was cold, but we never used it as had a hot tub.
The hotel is peaceful within the grounds and is just divine. You might hear the odd plane while outside, coming down to land, but its minimal and never bothered us.
All is all it is a place I would certainly want to come again, a great base to stay in.
Tamarix del Mar Suites is a real oasis with wonderful staff, clean and well-equipped apartments, and beautifully kept grounds.
The location is ideal for the restaurants bars and activity of Kamari's beachfront life whilst the hotel itself felt a million miles away from the bustle of the seafront - a place of real calm and relaxation.
Breakfasts were plentiful, ever-changing and catered for our vegetarian needs. I believe they also prepare things to order should you wish - though we never felt the need to ask.
The staff are always at hand to help or to offer suggestions.
Taking the short stroll to the beach for sunrise swims is a must - as is a trip to the other side of the island for its sunset views (buses are frequent, cheap and swift, if a little busy)
