Smy Mediterranean White Santorini garners praise for its sparkling clean environment and inviting pool area, with many guests enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and commendable service from a friendly staff. While the amenities and room decor receive mixed reviews, with some noting a need for more consistency and updates, the overall value is appreciated, especially considering its proximity to Kamari Beach and the airport. The location, however, may feel isolated to some, prompting recommendations for renting a car to navigate the area more economically.

My friend and I stayed for five days. Weather was warm during the day-if a little windy- but was cold in evening/night.

The hotel was closer to the airport than we realised and often saw planes taking off over the beach but the noise didn’t bother us at all. Room was clean and throughly enjoyed the breakfast and the fact masks were requested to be worn made us feel very safe. The pool bar and outside restaurant area, especially at night, was a massive highlight. The main waiter was lovely! Although swimming pool was absolutely freezing.

The only problem we found was that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. The only local restaurant was Galini’s Tavern which we loved but would have been nice to have more choice. Instead, to get to any of the popular places like Fira or Oia you needed to either get a taxi (€10 one way) or, like we did, the bus (actually a coach) from the bus stop down the road for €1.60. It comes every 2 hours but we found the 10:15am one to be the best time. Just be warned last bus from Fira is at 5pm and if you want to go to Oia you have to change at Fira bus station but was easy enough.

We also went on a boat trip with NST Travels to the volcano island Nea Kameni which was well worth the money!

All in all a beautiful island and a lovely hotel if you don’t might using a bit of public transport

From start to finish this hotel was excellent (Do NOT pay any attention to the awful reviews left previously) My Family, and friends booked this hotel to attend a wedding. We were greeted late at night 11.15pm with a lovely welcome and checked in to our rooms with help from the hotel porter. We then went down to eat at the poolside Restaurant which was a three course meal at a cost of only 18 euros excellent food & value, if you are staying bed & breakfast only.

There are several bars & restaurants within walking distance Gallini & Mario Restaurant being my favourite's. There is a fantastic black sand beach just a short walk away or those wanting to go to the beach for the day. Yes it is close to the airport but you know that before you go 9\Not a problem for anyone in our party of 42 people.

The two GM's were Fantastic always stopping for a chat nothing was too much trouble for them or the wonderful Andrius and his Team, all were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond their hospitality was the best (I work as a GM myself in the hospitality industry 5 star Hotel & Golfing Resort in UK so I am hard to please).

I booked a Junior Suite which was exactly as per the image on the website room 408 my family had several rooms ranging from suites to standard rooms all were freshly painted and very clean not a problem with any of the rooms. If you want a special room then I suggest you pay the extra for an upgrade which is the usual in most hotel groups. If you are happy to book a standard room you will not be disappointed.

Thank you for such a wonderful week at Mediterranean White.

I won't lie after reading all the bad reviews I was not looking forward to staying here and tried to change several times the weeks running up to it.

But we were pleasantly surprised. Ok so the room was basic (standard room) but it was very clean and I am obsessed with cleaning, I actually packed anti back wipes but didn't need them. The room was not worth what we paid though, so I do think the rooms are due an upgrade.

Also no washing line to hang out my washed swimwear, bought one down the road at the supermarket for 1 euro !!!

The pool area and grounds are beautiful. Fresh towels each day by 10.30am so best to keep hold of them if you're an early bird like me.

Breakfast was great, lot's of options to choose from. Could not fault it at all.

Staff were all lovely apart from one who was a bit grumpy and wouldn't make me a cocktail in case she got a queue!! Rest all lovely, one member I think it was the manager walked around the pool area asking people if they were ok and if he could get them anything.

The pool area is cleaned every morning.

Location - 30/40 mins walk into Kamari, not too bad, I love to walk but in July it was pretty hot and the path is limited so walking back at night is a no go.

Taxi is flat rate 15 euros sometimes 30 euros if there is a few of you. There is a bus outside hotel into Fira but it goes via Kamari you just need to tell them. Getting back either call the hotel or ask a restaurant/bar to get you one as there isn't really a taxi rank as such

We took buses to Fira and Oia for a day out, all 1.60 euros.

9 of us stayed here some for 7 days and we stayed 9 days, and it was great.

Two local restaurants close to the hotel 5/10 min walk, Gallani and Mario's, great food, amazing staff, cheap compared to the prices in the town, and it is where the locals eat so always a good sign :). Both located by the sea, amazing views.

So if you're due to stay here, ignore the negative crap and look forward to your holiday ;). The bad reviews ruined the run up for us and I regret that.

We booked here for a short minimoon earlier this month. Upon arrival after paying 20euro minimum fee taxi! we arrived at a very isolated, not very attractive reception that was very noisy from the airport (Not a huge issue for us and we were aware it was close to the airport so we expected a little noise, but no one in the reviews really mentioned how loud it can really be!)

Our room was a superior double. It looked nothing like the pictures and was very very basic with a broken phone and a light out and we got twin beds. We had emailed in advance to the hotel to see if an upgrade was possible and to inform them it was our honeymoon, they never replied, no better rooms were available to us at the time of booking.

The guests below us were very very noisy, partying until the early hours below our room and around the pool area. We hardly slept the first night due to the noise. Same again the second night, so I went and complained. I was told to wear ear plugs !

Beds by the pool had towels on them at 8am, even though most people were still in bed ! breakfast was very basic and not great. Drinks and food are expensive. Hotel seems clean enough.

Day 3, bad broken sleep, non successful in getting sun beds, ibiza like partying around the pool at 9am. Not the relaxing boutique honeymoon I had hoped for. I complained again and we were upgraded for our last night to the windmill suite.

The windmill suite is fantastic, hardly any noise from planes, away from noisy partying guests and the bar/pool area, own jacuzzi pool area with sun beds, even tho other guests ignored the private sign and kept helping themselves. Much better !

The hotel is ok, its not 5* and its not a fantastic honeymoon boutique luxury hotel. Location is absolutely rubbish. I would have preferred to stay further in Kamari, but if I ever go again I will stay in Fira or Oia. Staff, some are good, some are really useless and rude. Food is mediocre. I would not visit this hotel again and I would not recommend it to anyone. if we had not been upgraded to allow us to sleep and use the facilities for the last night of our stay, I would be giving a much worse review, in honesty, that action is the only reason I am giving a 3* rating.

When we arrived at the hotel we were taken to our room, it was very late as we had a later flight, we had a shower and it was freezing, half the water was coming out the pipe rather than the shower, the safe didn’t work and it’s fair to say we were pretty disappointed but after a long day of travelling we thought we would sort it out the next day with it being late and go to bed, we slept awful as people were up slamming doors at 4am, shouting and banging, the next day we complained and asked to switch rooms which we were told would cost more money which we weren’t willing to pay, after complaining a bit more we were switched rooms for free, the new room was lovely everything worked and was a lot better than the other room.

The noise most nights was awful, people banging and shouting (not really the hotels fault as there was a wedding party there and noise complaints were dealt with as much as possible) the hotel is right next to the airport but that wasn’t really a noise issue for us.

Breakfast is lovely however we got wrong most days for where we sat and how much juice we put in our glasses??? We ordered pizza to the hotel and went outside to collect it and got wrong saying we couldn’t bring our own food into the hotel.

The location of the hotel is very far away from most places on the island, we were told it was €10 for a taxi into Kamari however it was €15 the walk isn’t too bad but would have preferred to be closer as there are no bars and restaurants near by, only one local shop which we weren’t told about by the hotel it was another guest we found out from.

Most staff are lovely and friendly but there is a few who seem rude and not very welcoming or helpful.

The pool area is absolutely stunning, pools are quite cold and a bit dirty, they never cleaned the little pool by our room the full week we were there, if you want a good sun bed you would have to get up at a ridiculous hour to claim one as they go really quickly, the pool bar does cocktails starting from €10 and aren’t that great, drink prices are ridiculous and the food they serve is very basic and not to everyone’s liking.

We spent €35 on a taxi into Oia as it’s quite far from the hotel, the hotel does offer day trips however they seemed expensive so we went online and got a boat trip and other guests had booked online for day trips throughout the island.

Overall it is a beautiful hotel however the location and some of the staff make the hotel lower than a 5* the food options aren’t great and there isn’t many alternatives even the ones we found we couldn’t travel to and weren’t allowed to get it delivered to the hotel.

As the title of the review states, this hotel is "bang average".

When we first got there we was amazed with how beautiful it is and how close it is to the airport but it kind of went down hill after that. The room was so quirky we loved it apart from the rock hard bed lol, we didn't find noise an issue though. The staff were okay, none went out of their way up until the last day when we was leaving because they was trying to secure a tip. We got engaged over there and came back buzzing and to say their reaction was underwhelming is an understatement.

Sunbeds are a joke, if you don't get down there with your towels before 8am forget it, the staff round the pool don't come to you either with drinks orders. We went the other hotel down the road that you can use "Imperial" and it was a lot better, as soon as we arrived we got a bed even though it was mid day and the bar staff approached us straight away asking if we would like any food or drinks...

Also, we only knew about use of the other hotel because another guest told us, the hotel never mentioned this or didn't really give us any information about anything during our stay.

Breakfast is great, no problems with that at all, in fact it was delicious. Evening meal wasn't great though, we opted to eat out every night instead.

Although its close to the airport and we got to see planes taking off and landing close up the location of this hotel is dreadful, it's literally in the middle of nowhere. You have to get taxis everywhere and we noticed the one's that the hotel order from you add an extra 5 euros on the price compared to other ones. People were telling us its cheaper to hire a car but we like a drink when we are out and about so this wasn't an option for us.

In regards to Covid, all staff wore masks and the place was immaculate. We didn't have to wear masks apart from at Breakfast (You didn't have to for the evening meal though which I found bizarre)

All in all, apart from costing us a fortune in taxi's the hotel didn't effect our stay in Santorini too much, we loved the place but next time we visit we will stay in actual Kamari Beach where all the bars, restaurants and shops are.

We had also booked this hotel via Loveholidays on the 9th August 2020 to fly on 21st August. On arrival at the hotel we found it was closed and had been all season. It’s not been open since last year. So we’re we’re taken to the Imperial Med. As it turns out this hotel had many guests who had booked the Mediterranean White Hotel but like us found it was closed. I had contacted Loveholidays before we flew on the Tuesday 18th August via Livechat to ask a few questions about Greece and possible quarantine. I have my booking reference number. Not once did they mention that the hotel I had booked was not open! Even when I was in Greece I found that you could still book this hotel!!!

Currently staying at hotel. Having a fantastic holiday. Arrived late at night had a wonderful welcome from the receptionist who explained everything really clearly.
The hotel staff are exceptional they clearly enjoy what they do as it shows in the service they provide, nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast is one of the best I have had as a regular traveller to Greece, there is so much choice.
The rooms are large and comfortable. The beds are incredibly comfortable with modern bathrooms with a nicely appointed shower. Rooms are serviced daily with daily towel changes which you do not always get at some hotels.
The grounds and pool area are really well maintained.
If you are looking for a really nice hotel that is sensibly priced I highly recommend this hotel.

I came with my fiance for vacation at this hotel as soon as i arrived i was greeted by mr markos the receptionist and was helped with the luggage by edi the groom. The room was beautiful and had a great side sea view.
We were give at the check in a letter with all the information about the hotel.
We went to the buffet in the evening and had been greeted by a very helpful ladie m.s panagiota who showed us the buffet and the course of the meals.
After that we went to the pool bar to have a refreshing drink from the bar man marios.
My vacation through the Island was amazing and the location of the hotel helped making me visit the whole island .
I will surely come again.
Kind regards

This hotel was perfect for my birthday treat with friends! I really couldn’t fault anything about the hotel. Only a ten minute transfer from the airport, very modern, clean, with all the necessities you need. Small hotel which offers the personal touch. Lovely pool area with day beds to share, jacuzzi’s and a spa. Only 5 mins drive into Kamari, lots of lovely arms, restaurants and beach front. Thira was 20 mins away and taxis seem to charge around 20 euros, any additional person was 5 euros. Always get a price beforehand, Oia was 30 mins away and a must to visit, spectacular views! Upon arrival to the hotel we were welcomed by the wonderful front of house Stavros who was so accommodating and was generous enough to offer all our party a complimentary room upgrade as the hotel had only been open a few days and it was to celebrate a special birthday. I had a junior suite which was lovely, very spacious, ground floor which led out onto ground level terrace with a splash pool jacuzzi and the main pool area. The receptionists Fuslokia and Margarita were very friendly and helpful so nothing was too much trouble. Babis the maitre was absolutely brilliant, he was so attentive making sure everything was ok, such a lovely man who just wanted to please and make sure you enjoyed your holiday. One of the waitresses Stephanie was just a delight, again nothing was too much trouble, very polite and friendly manner. George the lifeguard was on point every day making sure everyone was safe. We had fresh pool towels every day! The cleaners were great, the place was spotless! The baggage guy was very helpful too. Food was good, plenty to choose from, albeit we didn’t eat many evening meals as we preferred to go out but again couldn’t fault the food. I think the spectacular bar area needs more evening use, maybe offer a happy hour to entice people? Entertainment even? Music by the pool during the daytime did become a bit monotonous after a couple of days so mixing it up a bit would be great! But overall what a lovely hotel! I’d definitely go back.
