We stayed in the well equipped Makhato Lodges in the Sondela Nature Reserve (we stayed in No. 75). Our lodge was equipped with an amazing bonfire area which we used every night. We had Nyala and Warthogs coming up to our door to be fed. The walks were well marked, and there was a lot to do within the lodge...

I would go back to sondela time and time again. Amazing atmosphere and entertainment programme. Value for money and well worth the visit. On arrival friendly staff help set up your tent. There are staff that offer to wash dishes every morning. Everyone is friendly and it is an amazing place for little children and families. It has something for...

It was the most relaxed weekend in our family's weekend away trips. We are interested to buy a property at Sondela and put it into the rental group. You will see us again this year. The property is child friendly which make us as parents very comfortable to take kids with us to Sondela.

Great chalets, service and value for money. We were welcomed by Nyala and Warthog right at our doorstep every morning during our stay. Highly recommended for a small family getaway close to Johannesburg.

We have visited regularly, and will always go back to, Sondela to relax and unwind. Chalets are scattered far enough from each other and you can go for long relaxing walks, or a horse ride and see lots of animals.

Been coming to Sondela for many years. Pity about the fire a few years ago. The chalets are not nearly as nice as the previous ones. Still a very nice place to visit and kids will love all the activities and all the animals.

Sondela is not the typical Safari you go on when visiting from abroad, but it's location gives you access to a lot of other game experiences including heir own. Their wild life centre is a must visit and you have loads of birds, buck and warthogs visitors at your chalet. Very close to shops and restaurants. ...20 to 30min driver...

Sondela is ideal for families with so much for kids to do. Although kids activities would be more utilised by if there was an option to buy a day pass? Facilities are clean. Staff friendly. Hubby enjoyed the bicycle rides. Caravan sites were great private ablutions were really convenient. We will most definitely visit again. Thank you
