The hotel's location was its main advantage -- convenient for Pauillac and the surrounding vineyard areas. The facilities were fine although nothing special. It is somewhat "motel-like" without atmosphere, but it provides a comfortable place to stay. We were travelling by bicycle and they made a storage area available for the bikes overnight. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

Pauillac is a great base to explore the area with plenty of chateau to visit within a stones throw, and the chateau of St Estephe, St. Julian, and Margaux within a very short drive. This hotel is located down on the main street, right...

Not much choice in Pauillac anyway! If you're not ready for the Relais et Chateaux prices of Cordeillan Bages then this is probably the best option. In fact it is the 3 stars section of the Hotel de France et d'Angleterre, same address, same staff, same entrance. Simple room, spacious enough, bed correct, very quiet. The building is rather simple...
