The hotel is simple and what you should expect from the pictures. The communication with the staff and issues with payment however were TERRIBLE. We paid via booking.com and the hotel charged us again upon arrival, refusing now to reimburse us. I am still trying to get this situation handled. very frustrating. A lot of very nice places around there.
We spent 3 nights 15th August. Nice welcome and dogs allowed. Pleasant, spacious, quiet room at the rear of the building. Shower over the bath. The shower head was broken, but repaired the same day. Breakfast was a bit pricey and totally mundane, despite being described as ‘copieux’. We took friends for a ‘menu du jour’ lunch. A bit of an embarrassment: ropey piece of pork and vegetables almost a soup! We weren’t expecting anything special, but.... We’d certainly use the hotel again, without breakfast.
We had an excellent lunch in the hotel restaurant during our visit to the Haut-Medoc area. Our food was delicious and the staff were very good. I have always liked Pauillac and its frontage on the river.
Receptionist very pleasant and we were helped to our rooms with our luggage from the Car Park. Room nicely laid out, good beds, with French windows and seats outside in garden. Tiled floor in bathroom very slippy - hazardous even - when wet! Pretty good meals, although the three mains on menu did not change in the four days we were there. Breakfast excellent with the best baguettes in our stay in France. Hotel staff uniformly pleasant and courteous. Seemed happy in their jobs, which made our stay very pleasant.
Left standing after asking for a table for six. Another member added an extra place at a table for five, for us. Eventually received menus then had a wait for our order to be taken. Set menu inexpensive, choice of three in each course wth one being chef’s dish of the day.A la carte was good. One word of warning, if ordering from the carte, order your desert at the same time as your other food! 2 of us did not and were reprimanded by the manager and told that the kitchen need to know whole selection at the beginning. Food was slow in coming to the table but was good when it did arrive. I was a bit disappointed as I had previously used Logis de France restaurants before and found them to be first class.
