I had a backpacker style room in the back over the dive shop. A lot of construction going on and no view from my room. The room was old and worn out. Very dirty. It did have airconditioning and a TV with 3 stations. Only one in english. Basically a waste of a TV. The price jumps from 1800 peso...

The place is really very nice located at the beach front plus a huge swimming pool that you can use when low tide. We stayed there for 5 days, buffet breakfast is served every morning. The bad thing is that the food look the same every morning. The staff is not so accommodating and lacks training.

In general I could consider the staff very unaccomadating. I paid for extra guests, and when I asked for a second bed they acted like I didn't pay. Ultimately I had to tell them to either remove the extra guest fee or put an extra bed in the room. Pros: Good Air-Con Large Pool Free Breakfast was Ok Beds were...

Whenever we go to Malapascua, we always stay in their resort. Why? Here's my pros and cons with this resort.. 1. They have a massive swimming pool which our daughter loves so much. They also have kids pool as well. 2. Their rooms are really nice. However, they also use salt water for shower. Its not too salty but not...

This hotel isn't worth the money. No one says "hello" or anything. It feels shoddy. And if someone put a bit if love and personal touch to it it'd be fantastic. But sadly, its not. The shampoo, soap and toothpaste had all been used and the packs not cleaned from last person. The towel had some weird rust stain on...

The hotel actually has two parts - the hotel ase in the buildings around the pool and the building ca 50 m away of much lower standard, more a backpackers lodge. So be careful when you book. In the hotel part the rooms are spacious, opening to the terrace, well furnished, comfortable, with WIFI working once better, once worse (still...

I stayed 5 nights in the budget aircon room with shared bathroom and then a further 6 nights in the Native room. The budget room is very basic (could do with a bin and at least 1 hook for hanging towels /wet clothes). The aircon and fan were decent and affective, which in 30 degrees C is essential. The shared...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Malapascua Island is situated two and a half hours away by car and four hours away by bus from the city of Cebu. A barangay of the town of Daanbantayan, Malapascua Island takes pride in its world class diving spots and pristine white sand beaches. It is widely referred by locals as the "Boracay of Cebu." As a diving destination, Malapascua Island has become known for its beautiful coral gardens and excellent local dive spots, as well as further out sites like Gato Island, Monad Shoal, and Kemod Shoal. Monad Shoal is an underwater plateau where thresher sharks and manta rays can be seen on a regular basis. The town's name is derived from two Spanish words, "mal" and "pascua", which translated in English means, "bad" and "Easter" or bad Christmas. According to locals, the Spaniards named the island that way after they arrived there on a stormy Christmas. Malapascua Island is a promise of a great dive and a relaxing beach experience, making it a popular travel destination for local and foreign tourists alike. ... more   less
