This is the worst hotel I've stayed during my one-month trip in India. The room was not that bad for the price (500 INR), a bit dirty and dusty but sheets were ok. The shared bathoom in the corridor was filthy and tiny. There was no running water when I went. I told the owner, and he said I could...

It was clean n all. Don't know why some people rated it otherwise. I paid 140 and stayed here for 4days. Must say it was great being here. Smoking is restricted but drinking's not. Awesome people were there in the dorm..

One of the best hotels if you are on a budget trip. Reasonable room rates with all the modern facilities. Homely atmosphere and food, cozy blankets and geyser for hot water supply. Front room also gives you a clear view of the mountains. I felt like being home away from home. Last coffee and chit-chat with the owner made me...

Of all the hostels that i've stayed, this one stands out for all the bad reasons. The dormitory was moist and smelly, mushrooms sprouting out from the walls and absolutely unconcerned staff members. I paid Rs 200 for it. Had it not been for the sleeping-bag that i was carrying along with me, i would have fallen sick for sure....

I am travelling for quite some time now, i am also used to quite some dirty hostels, but this one is the most extreme filthy hostel i have been in whole my life. Okay, for 150 roepies per night in the dorm, one should not expect a palace, but this is the other extreme! The blankets are very filthy, the...

At Rs. 600 for a fourth floor, street facing room which can be reached via an unending flight of dark, danky staircases (no elevators here), this seemed the most economical choice in all of Gangtok (as advised by Lonely Planet !!). If the dark deserted look inside the building doesn't break your spirit, the very idea of reaching the street...

This was the only budget hotel in Gangtok. I'm glad I only stayed one night. I had the choice btw a damp, claustrophobic room without window for 500 or the damp, dirty dorm for 130. I opted for the latter. I felt as if i were in a ghost house, I didn't move even in my sleep. The bathrooms were...

Up on Tibet road, run by the mercurial Llama, one second your friend, one second bad mouthing other guests behind their back. The rooms are fine, concrete floored affairs and the bathroom gushes hot water which always nice. Go for a front facing room, the back rooms are unbearably dank and wet, the mattresses reek. Out front the rooms are...

Gangtok is a lovely city, but if you stay here your experience will be marred. Please stay anywhere but here! The rooms are cheap but what you get isn't even worth 500rp. We are budget travellers and have been in India for a few months but have never stayed anywhere as unclean, run down and depressing as this place. Taps...
