#2 of 3 B&Bs / Inns in Porretta Terme
Dear Sirs, we are situated in Castelluccio of Porretta Terme, a very well known city thanks to its valuable thermal waters. We lie in the centre of the medieval village near the Manservisi Castle, immersed in the meadows of the Tusco-emilian Apennines at 811 meters height, just a few km far from the Corno alle Scale ski station. Florence lies 76 Km far while Bologna 60 Km far from here.

This wonderful hotel/restaurant is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Porretta Soul Festival, but still close enough to enjoy the music and lifestyle in the main town. We stayed four nights in this lovely village above the valley, enjoying the great cooking of Daniela and Salvatore and the comfortable room in the hotel. The stay is approximately 10 minutes drive up the hill from Porretta and there was sufficient parking in the main street in the village overnight, with a short walk to the hotel once you've parked. We found that there was room to drop off bags and passengers by the hotel before parking. The room was quite sufficient for two people and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food at the restaurant was lovely, with Salvatore's Sicilian background shining through. Breakfast is generally traditional Italian (light and sweet with coffee) but Daniela did cook eggs for us which we had with cheese and salami on the first morning (many thanks Daniela!). There are two set menus for main meals as well as a la carte, which provides for a great variety and wonderful taste! On one day, we used the local bus to get to and from Porretta. It's 2 Euro each way and a great option if you're not staying into the evening, or going to catch a train to Bologna (also a good option if you don't want to have to find parking there). If you go in Summer, there are regular concerts at the Castle. We sat on the restaurant terrace having a meal one night, listening to a wonderful Tenor singing. We are so happy we booked this place when we booked our flights and we will happily come back again! p.s. I'll be mailing the room key back to you as it wasn't until Turin that I realised that I still had it in my pocket! Sorry...

We stayed here in the fall of 2015. Although I posted a review on the booking website, I wanted to add my comments to those of other Trip Advisor users. This little hotel in the hills of Castelluccio near Porretta Terme is a real treasure. We spent 4 nights here and had dinner and breakfast each day before setting out on a tour of WWII 10th Mountain Division battle sites. We had a rental car and that would be a requirement to get here. The managers, Salvatore and Daniela are both amazing cooks, especially the home made pasta and Sicilian specialties. Salvatore grew up in Sicily and Daniela in Bologna and together they take their cooking to a very personal level of creativity. During our stay we were joined several evenings by a class of middle school age children and their chaperones who were on a school trip to the nearby castle. They all enjoyed the meals as well-many empty plates. The rooms are simple, very clean and there is free WiFi that had enough bars to use it in the room although the signal was better downstairs. The small bathroom had a toilet, sink and an interesting shower arrangement with no enclosure. Seemed to work OK but definitely a 1 person bathroom arrangement. We would recommend this wonderful place to spend the night or come for dinner if you are traveling in this area of Italy.

We were staying with family in Castelluccio so we didn't stay here. However, we did go out for supper one night here and it was excellent. The service was very good. The owners are super friendly and most helpful. When we left they even gave us some food for our breakfast the next day. Eating here was one of the highlights of our stay in Castelluccio.

There is a cozy and home like atmosphere, with food that is all homemade and tastes great!!! The host and hostess are lovely people. It would help if you can speak some Italian. The rooms are clean, simple and quiet.
