Preferring to stay at the Punakaiki pancake rocks and blowholes to maximise our opportunities to experience these wonders of nature we chose the stay at the Resort. Our room was an Eco-suite, solar power, low toxin materials, sustainable products used in building, minimal impact on the natural environment in which it was built etc. A good size unit and great...

We stayed here as part of a small tour. Had a second floor room - all rooms have a great view of the beach. Had supper at the restaurant and it was very good. Staff were very helpful. Very close to the park and the rocks. There is a national park close by as well. A little dated but clean.

It's right on the beach & right next door to the pancake & blow hole formations. Standard, clean, comfortable accommodations, good dinning . Great vistas. Not a luxury resort but ok for a night. Slow WIFI.

We were lucky & got a great room with a wonderful view of the Tasman Sea. The place is clean but needs some updating. Furniture is dated & little touches missing (tissues in the room etc). The restaurant is handy & the food is good but over priced. The location can't be beat...close to everything. If they spruce it up...

We only stayed one night at the Punakaiki Resort in December and unfortunately it didn't stop raining, but that meant it was a good time to go and see the nearby 'Blow Holes. We found the hotel comfortable, great location, right on the beach, and the staff extremely helpful. Especially the reception staff, who when I contacted them a couple...

We stayed here for one night. The room was clean and adequate with a view of the sea. There was heating which was needed, including a wall fan heater in the bathroom. It's basically a motel. We didn't eat breakfast or dinner there but instead drove down to the 'village' for dinner in a local pub. Pancake rocks and blowholes are...

Had a motel room. Was good wheelchair access. Quite expensive for motel type room. Amazing location. Great sunset and beach. Dinner quality was good but only expensive options. Be nice to have light meal options. Breakfast was very average. The eggs on toast was embarrassing. Generally good but over priced.

PROS: Location of hotel - if you want to stay in Punakaiki, this is almost only option. It is close to park and you can walk on beautiful beach from hotel. The area is indeed amazing. CONS: We stayed on east side of road in a lower unit that was dark and dank (moldy smelling). The patio had little privacy...

The resort is fantastic and near the ocean and enjoyed a sunset dinner! The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful with planning activities! We enjoyed the short walks to the beach and hikes along the river. The restaurant provided great ambiance with good food and a good wine selection.

We stayed in one of the eco apartments (508). The view was spectacular. The apartment had all the facilities you need, kitchen area, shower room, balcony and the room was clean and comfortable with a sitting area. The hotel location is excellent for this part of the coast being a short walk to Pancake rocks and blowhole and the Punakaiki...
