This summer was my second stay with Russ and Sergio at La Grande Quercia. In some ways, nothing could top my first trip- a magical journey for my ancestral roots with the amazing help of Russ and Sergio. The B&B is a lovely place to explore the Abruzzo region. The care and attention to detail is impeccable. But, what makes...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quercia Abruzzo La Grande! I was very happy to find Russ & Sergio because my husband and I were interested in getting their help with ancestry. Through their help, I was able to receive from them ancestry records all the way back to my husband's third great grandfather. He and the rest of our...

Can't find enough superlatives to describe our stay in Abruzzo and La Grande Quercia. We'll miss the Abruzzo sceneries, the Italian sun, the perfect room, the warm welcome, the delicious breakfasts, the super hosts-guides-entertainers, the prosecco'clock at the nice swimming-pool. We were really pampered by Russ and Sergio every day again.

Our stay with Sergio and Russ was the highlight of our 10 day trip through Abruzzo. Our first night we were delighted with the cooking class lead by Sergio, and Russ working clean up detail. The love that was included in each of the dishes handed down thru the generations was evident in each bite. They are the best tour...

It was clear to us long before we arrived at La Grande Quercia that we might experience something more than just a comfortable B&B. Russ and Sergio recognized from our surname that we might have roots in the area (true), and they provided a great deal of assistance in locating information on my rather mysterious grandfather. I had pretty much...

6th trip to this b&b? Have lost count. Travel is hard sometimes. Though Abruzzo's landscape is gorgeous and her towns are spared mass tourism, I still need to recharge between visiting relatives and seeing as much of the region as I can in 2 weeks. The rooms at LGQ are perfect, common area for guests is comfy and inviting and...

That's how it feels to return to La Grande Quercia, where Russ & Sergio welcomed us back to the comfort and bliss of their B & B in the hills of Abruzzo. I did mention on my first morning, that waking up there made me feel like I was in the Garden of Eden. Surrounded by fruit and olive trees,...

Just back from a fantastic 4 day break at La Grande Quercia. While I was there Russell and Sergio hosted a fabulous dinner for all the guests who were staying on the Friday. Whilst the food and wine were both top notch as always, I was struck by 2 things. The diversity of the guests, all ages, nationalities and backgrounds...

Where is the 7 star option on this thing??? I've thought for days about how to put into words the way I feel about having met Russ & Sergio, and about the stay in their impeccable place.
