Unfortunately I spent with my other half only one night at the building, but beside that We had a really satisfying stay. We got the Junior suite, spacious, with rounded bed and a breathtaking view to the Mt Etna. The restaurant was excellent and staff was ready for us, a big thanks to Nicola that welcomed us professionally and helped us with every issue. Good location for the ones who loves mountains and sea, in fact you can enjoy them both in not so long driving distance. Recommended
Stayed here several times now, and always enjoyed it. Simple but well managed 4 star with large, clean rooms, modern, very friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast. Great location for tours on the Etna, pricing is absolutely value.
Nice , clean , modern hotel with view to the Etna mountain . A bit far from the beach and main town. Service of the staff is excellent , Wi Fi in the rooms . Only bad thing is the taste of food in the evenings. Full of oil and not tasty at all
Spent two nights in room 306. The hotel is a perfect homebase for discovering the Etna area if you go by car, as we did. It's a little off the Linguaglossa center but offers high quality accomodation and nicely designed room and receptionarea. Minibar was resonable priced. TV was Italian or dubbed. WiFi worked fine during our short stay. AC was also effective. On the downside was the bitter morning coffee but besides that, breakfast was sufficient and Italian style with plenty of cakes as opposed to bread. New for me was the yoghurtcream. We could not find any signs to the spa ... and did not ask either, so we are probably to blame for that. However - we could certainly book this hotel again.
The name is deceptive. It is not a resort. Maybe, they have long-term plans. Although “mare” makes up part of the name, it is not near the sea. This relatively new hotel is bright and airy and is on the edge of Linguaglossa village on the northern slopes of Mt. Etna. I didn’t see a sign of the pool or Fitness Centre with Gym/Workout Room that is included in the TripAdvisor summary. There are terraces near the entrance and alongside the restaurant where one can sit outside. The modern, light, airy rooms are clean and have a balcony, but some are without chairs. The “designer” bathroom is a good size, however, lacks space near the washbasin for toiletries and has no hooks; all towels are on the opposite wall near the shower (twin room); usual facilities including a bidet. The shower has a large overhead shower head (useless) and a hand-held (effective). The lighting is also “designer” and not practical, especially for anyone who wears makeup. Good TV reception with oodles of channels, but either in Italian or dubbed; basic minibar with reasonable prices; wardrobe and bedside tables with drawers, 2 chairs and plenty of space alongside the TV plus good elevated area for suitcases opposite bathroom. Views of Etna or the surrounding area are best from those rooms at the back of the hotel. The lobby combined bar is Spartan in design and not conducive to conversation. Design vs comfort and atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Meals at the adjoining restaurant Gatto Blu were also good and there was no problem accommodating a non-meat eater. The jug coffee at breakfast was undrinkable, but the waiter/waitress was willing to bring an espresso, etc. Otherwise the breakfast was very good with an extremely good FRESH fruit salad. Fast and secure WiFi. The disadvantages: there are no room safes. Unless your holiday is a hiking one in the area, one does need a car; although according to the room brochure trips can be arranged to surrounding historic sites. Because the hotel is situated on the slopes of Mt. Etna (ski area) on a steep windy road it adds considerably to the time reaching historic sites. The travelling time to the airport is circa 1.5 hours. What makes this hotel particularly pleasant is the staff. Top staff.…
