Having read reviews raving about this place, we decided an overnight stay which unfortunately left with back pain. The room we stayed in looked nothing like any of the pictures. It was very tired whilst the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever tried to sleep in. It was so bad, I had no sleep and now have back pain. During late afternoon we wanted to have a drink outside, which although was possible, the patio had not been tended to so was shabby and dirty. We did stay as we did not want to go back to the uncomfortable room (we couldn't go inside since we had our dog with us) and ordered a couple of cocktails which were served in basic , shabby half pint glasses which was disappointing. The main restaurant is ok, with very friendly staff. The meal was average, unlike the reviews, where my husband's steak and my duck were both over cooked. This place is in a beautiful location but unfortunately needs a lot of work to address the tiredness, the uncomfortableness, and shabby state of its catering facilities. The reviews definitely did not reflect what we experienced.

Beautiful place Stayed here with my husband the first weekend in June for my 50th birthday. From front desk to the rest of the staff they made my birthday and stay wonderful. Our room was beautiful and very clean. Food was delicious in the restaurant. Even got to have a few delicious drinks made from the bar. Had a boat tour with Chester. He was great and so were his stories. It felt like being down south without the intense heat. I highly recommend staying here.

Stay was alright, food was interesting and very different. We did the boat tour and the boat operator said a racist term “Like a n****r in a wood pile.” After filing a complaint the lodge issued 2 week suspension without pay.

I’ve seen lots of ads for this property and although a little pricey we decided to try it. Upon arrival we were very impressed. Check in was great and even though they had issues with their water they gave us bottled water for our stay. We had an riverfront room which had a deck. There are many buildings on this property and we had no trouble finding our room. Upon entered the building where we were staying we were met with a very damp, musty smell. Once we entered our room we no longer encountered this smell. The room was clean and the view was beautiful. The rooms are well appointed, although the couch was very old and we avoided using it. The bed was comfortable but they didn’t take into account not everyone is more than 5’10” tall. I had to use a chair to get into bed. There are very few restaurants even close to this place so we ate at the restaurant on the property. The food was delicious, but a little pricey. The windows overlook the river and could really use a good cleaning. We had breakfast there in the morning, as again very little close by. Again, pricey. The recreation building house games, pool table, shuffle board. Could not play. The pool table fabric was ripped and in poor shape, shuffleboard was also in bad shape, we left after only 5 minutes. Overall, beautiful property.

Very disappointed with our recent trip here. It’s nice to see some of the upgrades being done to the property with new ownership but the dining room experience was a huge let down. Breakfast for two.... $45 for a horrible breakfast buffet. No bacon, sausage, beans or fish cakes... but they did have fried bologna... like seriously. It was a joke. Fast forward to our evening dinner... AGAIN another buffet that was equally disappointing. Our bill was $100 this time. Our meal wasn’t worth half that. If you ever decide to go here I highly recommend bringing your own food. This resort has so much potential. It would be nice if someone in management would raise the quality of the restaurant.

Stayed there Oct 9 2021. $299 including dinner and breakfast next morning. Rooms were ok. Windows throughout the complex dirty inside and out. Restaurant a disaster! Buffet style. Stale food and dessert. Noisy, especially the intercom music. Felt more like a ski lodge than a resort. Tea/coffee bar unkempt. Moved my reservation from 6:00 to 6:45 without telling me. This used to be a premier place to stay. Sold to private operators the clearly do not deliver value and quality.

This resort is not fancy. Our chalet was very clean and the girls were great. Some things missing, and although they fixed things right up, its frustrating having to bother busy workers to get the items that were missing. The pool around the edges was dirty and the hot tubs were so hot. We, and another couple couldn't use, but we did see a couple in one later, so I guess you can't please everyone. The food is gorgeous and we ate takeaway from the dining room twice. Both times our order wasn't quite right, and the first night didn't get forks, napkins or plates, and the second no plates. But went with it. The scenery is pretty and overall relaxing time.

We were staying at a friends nearby cottage so after exploring some of the hiking trails and the grounds of the property we decided to come back that evening for supper. We requested a table with a view which they did accommodate. It was lovely to sit and watch the many birds flying around the feeders just outside the windows as well as the water views. Over all the food was really good, however we did have to send back our fries as they were not thoroughly cooked. The waiter was very apologetic and happy to make it right.

We came annually for a 1 week family vacation for 15 years but we moved out of province and this was our first time back in 4 years. We were so excited to return and we enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking and campfires by the falls. The meals in the restaurant were delicious and the service was excellent as always. We stayed in Chalet 10 which has been upgraded and we really enjoyed the location. The only downsides were the very large price increase (we booked for last year at a much lower price then had to cancel) and the fact that a number of the staff members we looked forward to seeing are either gone or working on a very limited basis. Chester only does boat tours on the weekends now and this is a real shame as he is so very helpful and he has so many stories about the local area to share.
