The cabin was very clean and was fitted out with all you would need for a stay The location made it easy to visit anywhere on the Cabot Trail or anywhere else in Cape Breton if your stay is over a few days. We had a wonderful visit over five days.
The lady in charge of the rental was really friendly and most helpful.
Hopefully we will return for another stay.

We stayed in cabin #1 September 2020

The cabin was amazingly clean, literally didn’t feel like anyone had ever stayed here. The kitchen was tidy and equipped with all we needed. The two large beds were very neatly made with cozy blankets and sheets and was probably on of the comfiest beds I’ve slept in. Even the couch bed was comfortable.
It’s really cute inside with beautiful wood working and gorgeous scenery surrounding it. we comfortably stayed as a group of 6.
It’s close to a grocery store/nslc, and a lot of really nice views. We drove to a mountain, and beach combed in a really pretty rocky beach less than an hour away from our cabin.
We were really well accommodated, the woman running it is super sweet and friendly

10/10 we will be coming back here in our next trip to CB. We all really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you 🥰

What to say about Cajun Cedar Log Cottages that hasn’t already been said? Good question. Mostly, I have to say “Ditto”, except when it comes to what the entitled people have complained about. Read the great reviews, and base your decision to stay here on those. Ignore the rest.

We booked our 1 bedroom cottage, as a pet-friendly home base for our visit to Cape Breton. We are spending two weeks in this lovely place. The location is quiet and serene, yet not far from great beaches, some excellent restaurants, and the famous Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Even Sydney is only 1.5 hours away.

The cottage was spotless when we arrived, with plenty of little touches to make life easier ... dish soap, coffee filters, all linens, toilet paper, paper towels, bar soap, and salt & pepper (in case you forgot to bring yours), and a small propane bbq are all provided. The bed is as comfortable as our higher-end Euro-top at home. Internet is what you’d expect for a rural area in Cape Breton. Yes, the stove in our cabin is an older coil model, but it’s fully functioning and has suited us well so far. Remember, this is rural and quaint, so if you’re looking for big city amenities like you’d find in Ottawa, Toronto or Barrie, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for charm, a quaint log cottage to call your own while you’re here, wonderful locals, stunning scenery, and a place to totally unwind, this is your place in Cape Breton to be.

My wife and I took our 2 busy boys (ages 1 & 3) here for 3 nights and it was excellent. The property is great for families, lots of room, very well maintained and has a big field for kids. The cottages are spotless clean, and the covered porch with BBQ was perfect for the little bit of rain we had. We really enjoyed our time and the boys had a blast. Angela is an excellent host all around. The location is perfect, just across from the River, and only 10-20 minutes away from multiple beautiful beaches. It is also close to the main grocery store in town and the Dancing Goat (best sandwiches you’ll ever have). We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it!

We stayed for a weekend beginning of October - an absolutely beautiful spot. The place is absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. Kitchen is fully stocked with frying pans, kettle, coffee maker (important! ha) dishes and utensils. Beds were incredibly comfortable - I seriously had the best sleeps I've had in ages here. The grounds were beautiful. We took our dog, and he loved being able to run and play in the fields to the rear of the property. We didn't take advantage of hiking trails and woods, but we will next time we are here. During our summer of 2020, we've done a lot of Staycation things in Nova Scotia, and this was possibly the best we've experienced and we will definitely be back. It is the perfect location between Cheticamp and Inverness (Route 19 - definitely go!) and Baddeck. Loved our stay and as I said, we will definitely be back.

The Cajun Cedar Log Cottages are ideally located in the beautiful Margaree Valley. The setting for and the panoramic view from these meticulously cared for cottages is second to none. Your host, Angela, puts a lot of love into the cleanliness, decorating, maintenance and outfitting of each and every one of her cottages. My stay was so enjoyable and relaxing that my wife and I are returning on July 4th for another week’s stay with Angela at her first class Cajun Cedar Log Cottages. We highly recommend them to all travellers wishing to have the best possible experience during their stay in the oh so special Margaree Valley.

We loved our stay at Cajun Cedar! Exemplary Covid protocol - we felt safe and comfortable during our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with wares to prepare all our meals. My husband enjoyed the prime location for fishing. Conveniently located to hiking in the Highlands park. We will be back!

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay in order to be close to the Margaree River. The Cajun Cedar Cabins were perfect. Nice cabins with our own kitchenette and gas grill on the porch. Clean, neat and well appointed. AC was available, but we didn’t need it at all. Most occupants were fly fishermen as well. The property has an easy walk access to the Margaree and located within an easy drive to other spots.

Proprietress Angela couldn’t have been nicer.

Well worth a return!! Would recommend to friends, family and fishermen.

First the positive - great location, quiet, clean and the manager (Angela) was very accommodating and friendly. On the improvement front, the amenities aren't great (kitchen stove barely worked, WIFI was completely unusable and too slow to do anything, bed was very uncomfortable). For the price (and all the amazing reviews), we were expecting a bit more.

I am sorry Mike that you didn't sleep well. I just spoke to a guest that is in cottage number 6. She told me the stove works fine, the internet is slow (I will look into that) and that the bed is fine. I was shocked at your review since last week someone took a picture of the mattress because his wife loved it. She has a sore back and slept so comfortably in our cottage. Unfortunately, I can't buy all types of beds for different likings. Our beds are not hard, soft nor memory foam. We purchased what was recommended for the hotels and they were purchased just a few years ago. We are only open 5 months of the year. I am very pleased with my purchase because the comments on the beds have been excellent not only online but at the office as well.

I arrived late in the Friday night. This is my first trip to Cape Breton. It was a trip for the Cabot Trail Relay Run 2022.

Everything was taken care for my check-in. Angela is so considerate and thoughtful. She helped me solve the logistic issues of my trip upon my arrival. It just took a few minutes!!! Thanks again for your first-minute help.

You will find the cottage bring you more than what you expect. The special log cottage. The clean rooms. And the nice view when you wake up in the morning. You will hear the birds singing songs while you have your morning coffee. If you like to taste the moments away from city life, this is the very correct choice.

It is all about people. Yes. You will love here not only because it is located at the famous Margaree River.
