I stay here two or three times a year and yes, the rooms are looking a little bit tired but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean, the drive up rooms are a bonus, it’s right on the lake and close to downtown. On this trip I had a minor problem with my room so I sent a quick email to management before I crawled into bed and by the time I got back to my room the next day the issue had been resolved and I had a very nice response waiting in my inbox. I especially enjoy dining in the restaurant - the food is great and I’ve always received excellent service. There’s even a little patio overlooking the lake. I’ll be back again.
We booked a block of rooms for a hockey tournament. When we arrived we were told that that there was no block. The rooms are old and dirty. They put a family next to the bar. The whole place smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. And one of the rooms had pills in a drawer. This place is not family friendly. Will never book here again.
Old ,run down ,dirty , smell of stale smoke, lots of damages done in room that have never been repaired. Small cramped room , very poor lighting. Soggy beds, poor tv reception and very limited channels. Never again ! Reviews on line were decent so I asked if I was in the older part - reception said no I was in the new building . I am convinced that the positive reviews on line are written by the owner and the owner’s relatives.
First off I must say the staff was both helpful and very friendly considering the limitations of Covids restriction guidelines. The rooms were as expected size wise which suited my needs perfectly and very clean which I was very happy about, however the bathrooms while dated, not a big deal, had low water pressure in building 2 at times, but again not a big deal. The thing that was a big deal for me was the fact that it felt like there was an OPP substation in the complex, there was police attending the property on calls EVERY night, sometimes twice in the same day, which forced me to get up to ensure my vehicle was safe. Like I mentioned above I was very happy about the rooms and employees, and if they were able to figure out how minimize the police appearances then maybe I would stay there again next time I'm in the area or very least highly recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet place to stay.…
Stayed here for a hockey tournament . Out dated bathtub. When having a shower had to wait about five minutes for the hot water to kick in. And there was hardly any water pressure. Someone took our parking spot when it clearly stated that the spot was for guests only. Tried to eat at the Forest bar and Grill, was told if we never made a reservation it would be a 20 minute wait. So we eat somewhere else. And because of the fact there was a hockey tournament going on they jacked up the price on the room. I would never stay there again.
It was so nice to be back at the Forest Inn for a short time. Gayle and Deni and their staff made my stay awesome as always. Very Clean, the restaurant has the best food and they always go the extra mile to accommodate. It was so nice seeing everyone. Hopefully it won’t be so long before my next visit. Would highly recommend staying at their wonderful Inn
Considering this place is on a major highway yet has the appeal of being out in the middle of nowhere, I was very impressed by what they offered and the cleanliness of the building itself. It has green tones through out. The pine look. Nice large front desk. I phoned ahead to book my room and was checked in in less than two minutes. Nice modern rooms where you can go down a hallway or walk right outside from your living room. Well looked after and I believe they have the power bars in the room so you can plug more than one item in the room on the same side of the bed. Would certainly stay here again. There is a Best Western across the street but the place is always full.
Very poor Wi-Fi, no iron and ironing board, small outdated bathroom with no counter space, do not offer nor promote corporate rate, air struggling to work. On the other hand, great restaurant and awesome view.
My partner and I moved to Sioux Lookout in the middle of winter with nowhere to live/stay. Our previous plan had fell through at the last minute when we pulled into town. We quickly made a stop at The Forest Inn where we talked to Gayle about our situation. Not only was she sympathetic but she was extremely helpful and gave us accommodations while we apartment hunted. The maintenance/cleaning staff were also kind and always made sure we had everything we needed. Our room and the grounds were extremely clean which made us feel right at home! Thank you to the team at Forest Inn!
My family and I stayed here during a weekend hockey tournament. We had booked a queen bed room with a couch because that was all that was available but when we checked in they had a 2 bed room for us which was great. The rooms are a bit outdated but very clean and the beds were comfortable! The continental breakfast had juice, coffee, toast, bagels, oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. Open 7-10am. The breakfast room is small but you can always take items back to your room. Our truck wouldn't start because of the extreme cold weather and they borrowed us an extention cord to plug in the vehicle. The Forest Bar and Grill has excellent food! Definetly eat there even if you dont stay at this hotel. Overall, I would stay here again. The front desk staff were polite and friendly. The front entrance was newly updated and looked professional.…
