Detailed Reviews
I stay here two or three times a year and yes, the rooms are looking a little bit tired but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean, the drive up rooms are a bonus, it’s right on the lake and close to downtown. On this trip I had a minor problem with my room so I sent a quick email to management before I crawled into bed and by the time I got back to my room the next day the issue had been resolved and I had a very nice response waiting in my inbox. I especially enjoy dining in the restaurant - the food is great and I’ve always received excellent service. There’s even a little patio overlooking the lake. I’ll be back again.

First off I must say the staff was both helpful and very friendly considering the limitations of Covids restriction guidelines.
The rooms were as expected size wise which suited my needs perfectly and very clean which I was very happy about, however the bathrooms while dated, not a big deal, had low water pressure in building 2 at times, but again not a big deal.
The thing that was a big deal for me was the fact that it felt like there was an OPP substation in the complex, there was police attending the property on calls EVERY night, sometimes twice in the same day, which forced me to get up to ensure my vehicle was safe.
Like I mentioned above I was very happy about the rooms and employees, and if they were able to figure out how minimize the police appearances then maybe I would stay there again next time I'm in the area or very least highly recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet place to stay.

My family and I stayed here during a weekend hockey tournament. We had booked a queen bed room with a couch because that was all that was available but when we checked in they had a 2 bed room for us which was great. The rooms are a bit outdated but very clean and the beds were comfortable! The continental breakfast had juice, coffee, toast, bagels, oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. Open 7-10am. The breakfast room is small but you can always take items back to your room. Our truck wouldn't start because of the extreme cold weather and they borrowed us an extention cord to plug in the vehicle. The Forest Bar and Grill has excellent food! Definetly eat there even if you dont stay at this hotel. Overall, I would stay here again. The front desk staff were polite and friendly. The front entrance was newly updated and looked professional.

Stayed here for a hockey tournament . Out dated bathtub. When having a shower had to wait about five minutes for the hot water to kick in. And there was hardly any water pressure. Someone took our parking spot when it clearly stated that the spot was for guests only. Tried to eat at the
Forest bar and Grill, was told if we never made a reservation it would be a 20 minute wait. So we eat somewhere else. And because of the fact there was a hockey tournament going on they jacked up the price on the room. I would never stay there again.

Thank you for your recent stay with us and for taking the time to send us your comments. We have undergone many Guest Room improvements over the past year including flooring, beds, TVs, bathroom pedestal sinks and low flush toilets ~ the Tubs are next on our list for sure! While we do our best to ensure parking is available right in front of Guest Rooms, we had a handicapped individual park in the closest spot to the Restaurant, which resulted in the rest of your Hockey Team mates each bumping over a spot, which ended in your spot being taken. I apologize for the inconvenience of you having to park towards the Lake. On Friday, February 14th, our Restaurant was very busy due to it being Valentine's Day, and falling on the Friday as well. We try to do our best to accommodate our Guests and apologize that you were not able to wait the 20 minutes for an available table. Once again, I Thank you for staying with us and apologize for your dissatisfaction. We certainly hope we can be of service in the future. (And just a side note: As with many Hotels, there is an extra charge when there are 4 People staying in one Guest Room) Regards, Gayle Hoey General Manager

We were lucky to get the very last room available on the night we stayed in August, and that was with booking a week in advance.
Unfortunately our stay was a nightmare of an experience for me. Upon walking into the building to register, there was a crazy strong pot pourri fragrance kind of overpowering odour in the lobby. I told myself that it’s probably just in that one area, surely they would’t pump that awful toxic simulated smell into the rooms- unless they were trying to mask some other smell. Boy was I wrong. I could barely breathe in our room. The window only opened up a few inches and the air conditioner seemed to have a scented filter in it! I ended up trying to get some sleep wearing a face mask. I felt incredibly ill by the next morning & couldn't get out of there quick enough. At one point I considered sleeping out in our vehicle, but it was parked close to an outside vent that also reeked of whatever stuff they use throughout the hotel.
I will NEVER go back to stay in this hotel again. If you are sensitive to fragrances or scented products, this is definitely NOT the place to stay.

This hotel is in a good location - easy to walk to most of the major sights. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating, arranging tours and Uffizi ticket reservations. We stayed in 2 different rooms in 2 separate stays within 10 days - one was a little plainer, the 2nd was remodeled and more updated, but both were clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again without hesitation. Highly Recommended

Old ,run down ,dirty , smell of stale smoke, lots of damages done in room that have never been repaired. Small cramped room , very poor lighting. Soggy beds, poor tv reception and very limited channels. Never again !
Reviews on line were decent so I asked if I was in the older part - reception said no I was in the new building . I am convinced that the positive reviews on line are written by the owner and the owner’s relatives.

We booked a block of rooms for a hockey tournament. When we arrived we were told that that there was no block. The rooms are old and dirty. They put a family next to the bar. The whole place smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. And one of the rooms had pills in a drawer. This place is not family friendly. Will never book here again.

Considering this place is on a major highway yet has the appeal of being out in the middle of nowhere, I was very impressed by what they offered and the cleanliness of the building itself. It has green tones through out. The pine look. Nice large front desk. I phoned ahead to book my room and was checked in in less than two minutes. Nice modern rooms where you can go down a hallway or walk right outside from your living room. Well looked after and I believe they have the power bars in the room so you can plug more than one item in the room on the same side of the bed. Would certainly stay here again. There is a Best Western across the street but the place is always full.

After a long flight up from Toronto arriving via two flights, I got to the lounge at 9:57pm. There were quite a few people still having dinner. I asked for a drink and was told that they were closed. I pointed out that it was before ten, I had travelled far and just wanted a night cap. She replied, well it's Ten now so sorry, no, we're closed! Given that they couldn't go straight home as they already had a few people in, how terribly mean and inhospitable. My first time in Sioux and not a good first impression.
