Well what can I say, people were friendly , room was OK ! , But we booked in advance through Booking .com, never received a confirmation, when we got there, they wanted to put us on second floor, no elevator, and we are both late 60's , and cannot walk up a flight of stairs with our luggage and coolers , so they put us on main floor , and charged us an extra $30, without letting us know until we checked out ! Plus, the free breakfast was a real joke! We went in the breakfast room at 830 Am. No more Bagels, no cream cheese, no milk for the cereal, no boiled eggs, just toast with jam, white bread only , and no creamers left for coffee, no muffins or fruits of any kind left , as a bunch of kids were occupying booths , and had raided all the food, no one in sight , to replenish the trays for all the remaining guests until 10 am ! No swimming pool also! For $163.85 !!

So wasn’t planning on staying but due to weather and late departure had to find accommodations. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in, front desk staff was lovely very helpful and super friendly. Room was very comfortable and roomy. Water was hot in the shower and lots of area to take my dog out for his business.
Why it wasn’t five stars is the breakfast was a little lacking in choices especially if you are unable to eat gluten, a few more options of fruit and maybe hard boiled eggs would have been great

I wasn't impressed with this hotel stay. The property looks old and tired. The hallway to my room smelled like grease/cooking. The room was clean and well-appointed. There are leak stains on the room ceiling. A smoke detector was wrapped in plastic? The sink drained slowly. The shower has no shelves for shampoo or soap. The parking lot is half-paved. The continental breakfast was food items purchased from the local grocery store.

When we arrived in our room there was a chair in the room that was filthy dirty. We could not sit on it and actually called to have it removed. They brought a replacement chair. A list of tv channel stations was provided in the room but only 7 channels worked. We called to complain about shortly after checking in. First and second times was told they will "reset" the cable system. After the 3rd call to the front desk we were basically told there was nothing that could be done about this (we felt that this concern was dismissed as unimportant). The free breakfast was so very disappointing...how can you call granola bars, rice crispy squares and coffee a breakfast??
The entire mini vacation we planned was accentuated by the fact that our accommodations we chose was sub-par and felt that we were not a valued customer.

We expected more from a Ramada hotel!

NO Restaurant, NO swimming pool - website description & pics false!

Rooms old and outdated, tv poor to no signal, room appliances outdated and/or broken, window filthy could not see out it. Breakfast: Costco granola bars & cookies, bread, and 1 bag of milk for all guests to use with 2 cheap (plain) cereals.

Could not check in at 1.30pm unless I paid a surcharge as before 3pm, but there was only 4 cars in car park so not busy. Will up charge you for everything, be careful!

The room was full of flies
The toilet was clogged
The room was stinky
We turned on the A/C and it start smelling burn and it triggered the smoke detector.
The hotel offered to refund the second night for no fee (email confirmation received); they actually charged the full amount (two nights) and never refunded the second.
Four phone calls, four email sent, no reply from the hotel Mgr.
I’m filing a dispute through Visa.
Just disgusting

Booked a room for my mother to stay for 3 days. First nice the A/C made so much noise (tennis balls in a dryer) that she had to sleep with it off. Second day same issue and even after running for 12 hours, the room was warmer than outside (30+ degrees).
She was moved to another room and that room had a deadbolt that didn't fully latch. Thank goodness for the latching chain type security on the door.

Both of these rooms were in the motel style rooms behind the building. Maybe the rooms inside the hotel would be better, but the ones outside with external doors did not seem to be in great shape.

When she opted to check out a day early, the manager told her there would be no refund because 'it would come out of his pocket'. That to me sounds like a personal problem. Maybe some care and maintenance and more thorough checks of the operation of the facets of the rooms would be something to consider implementing. I would think basic things like 'do the locks work' and 'does the heating/cooling system work' would be just normal checks done on the daily.

The heating and air conditioning unit had car air fresheners in it. They were also hanging on the pictures in the room. I have never seen this in my life in a hotel room. You know, the little pine tree ones that you buy at Canadian Tire! The room was half updated. You can hear everything and anything happening in the hallways. That is what happens with these renovated properties. You can clean up the room all you want, but if the noise travels, you are snookered. Pretty sure I was lied to about a CAA discount. I would say the room was fairly clean; livable for one night, but definitely over priced.

The Ramada is a great place to stay at if you are looking for a quiet peaceful get away. They have separate hotel rooms in the back of the hotel which is where I always stay and you don't even hear a peep from anyone. It's on the top of my hotel list of stays!

The place located at a very convenient location, giving access to places we wanted to visit in Kawartha Lakes. This place is mostly used by truckers. It is decently maintained. The staff is amazing, friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was good as well & was included in the price. Worth the price!!
