After spending 3 Saturdays in a row staying overnight at this IBIS hotel in Soissons, I can recommend this no frills hotel with confidence. Room meets all the basic requirements - clean, comfortable bed, adequate shower, WiFI and TV. Only negative is there are a few minor spots of mold in and around the shower. The best thing about this hotel is the petit dejeuner breakfast. It is a very well stocked self-serve breakfast, including croissants, butter, yogurt, cheese, espresso machine, fruit, etc. Note, location is behind another hotel so follow signs to IBIS hotel once you're GPS says your ckose.
This is standard Ibis and I cannot fault them on the room or the value for money (£130.00 for two rooms, 3 adults). At first sight one might think that the hotel is too close to the main roads which run along two sides of it but the screening of trees is quite effective. Getting into the commercial zone where it is situated is relatively easy but because of one way streets you cannot return precisely on the same route. It meant that when we went to dinner which we could see just the other side of the road we had to drive a huge distance in a circle to get there. Fortunately, when we left in the morning we were driving through Soissons so the vagaries of the one way system were in our favour. We had two rooms on the ground floor which meant we could park the car outside and pass the luggage through the window which was handy. Breakfast was the standard Ibis fare and plentiful and fresh. .…
The hotel was ok, nothing more. Expensiv for what it is. Car parking 15 Euro per night which has to be booked prior to visit. Otherwise you can try to park for free opposite but all spaces are gone by 4pm or make sure your car is moved outside by 8am. Considering it's a Best Western, they need to pull their socks up.,
The room was very comfortable, with a good sized bed, and crisp, white linen. The bathroom was spotless. The room was also very plain, with a very minimalist, budget hotel chain feel about it. My window looked out over the main road alongside. Breakfast was good and varied, and they even had non-dairy milk. However, for the price, this is excellent value and a good location for nearby businesses. I would not choose to stay here for a holiday but for business or a one-night stopover, it is good.
Plan to use the car to find a restaurant as the closest is over the road and because of the position you need the car. Didn’t take the breakfast but the boiled eggs were left out overnight as was the fruit
