Although the 2nd floor view of the Gulf is exceptional, this motel should not hold an average rating. Our room (212) had stained carpets, raunchy smell, and a fridge that did not work. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom area was clean and outfitted with usual traveler soap and shampoo. The outside appearance of the hotel is a little scary, showing signs of unmaintaned structures. This place is very well located. Owners should invest in its building. It is marvelously located. We paid 129$+tx, a price that can only hold during the Quebec construction holiday period. Otherwise, this shouldn't go for more than 90$
And what a view it is! Our 2nd floor balcony (with 2 chairs) looked out over the town and St Lawrence River. This motel is located on a hill overlooking the area. Very spacious room. There was a slight language barrier with the reception staff, but we did just fine. We were in Room 106, and if you are in this room, there is a gym with a few pieces of equipment across the hall. Air conditioned room with comfortable bed. The town is very quaint, with a small boardwalk, plus the ability to access the beach, if the tide allows. Found quite a few pieces of beach glass, which was fairly scarce in other locations we stopped at during our east coast trip. There are a few restaurants in town, but we didn’t try them. One, though, is on the waterfront and there is one in the hotel. No breakfast included in the room rate.…
How they can charge a premium price for a crappy motel is beyond me. We only stayed because it was last minute, accepted our dog, and we planned poorly. “Free” breakfast is for 2 only, despite being a family of 4.
We were told that the rooms were excellent, but unfortunately, they were all booked up. We did stop for breakfast after staying at another motel nearby, and it was excellent, and the service EXCELLENT! The view from the dinning room was great, overlooking the St.Lawrence and the “herd of sheep” on the adjacent hillside!
We had some trouble checking into the motel, as our French was as limited as the office staff's English. Nice large clean room. Nice view from our room. Breakfast which was included with the room was excellent. Lovely hot breakfast of bacon and eggs. Nice place to stay.
